Finished; Awesome. Only downsides are that the ML keeps not communicating (thankfully I'm here the plot that stems from miscommunication doesn't have the absolute worst outcomes if compared to other dramas), and that the Baek Hee Song (Not ML) had kinda....average acting, to put it nicely. Like, his eyes look like they're going to pop any moment lol.
I was reading the comments, and, since Viu has the global distribution rights to this drama and not Netflix, I'm super curious to know if they've been utilizing it, utilizing it well, and whether there's new about an increase in their subscriber base, or what...?
I'm enjoying her involvement. It's pretty clear that he wasn't reborn to find a hot prosecutor and fall in love...…
Here's the thing, I agree with everything you say, but I think justification for justification's sake just isn't right. Every story has a character who's a tool, or exposition, or all the stuff that we like to roll our eyes at. We just don't complain about it when it's hidden/integrated well. They have to integrate all of that info she brings well. Either the chemistry is popping to most people and everyone forgives the slight mistakes, or she's characterized more than just an obvious set up, or they remove the FL to place all this info in the place of something else.
'Shining Just for You' is an English translation that I know sounds terribly familiar in about five other dramas but somehow I simply can't pinpoint from where.... I'm pretty sure I can think of a bunch like 'Shining Only for you', 'Shining for you', 'Shining to you' (Obvi grammar mistake but common in dramas), 'Shining You' (same), "Shining..to the moon, to the stars...with you..' etc etc etc.
Anyways I don't watch this drama, just thought the title was frightfully boring; It could do better. But again, I feel like 'Novoland: Shining Just For You'
diminishes it even more, so maybe:
Novoland: Shining Novoland :Shine ?
But usually, there's more geographical or fantastical keywords in it, so maybe:
Novoland: Starry River Novoland: Starlight..World/Road
But tbh it's usually more convoluted like:
Novoland: The Starry End to our Destinies Novoland: Eternal Starlight of Fate or something lol
Why does everyone have dark green couches. The entire background aesthetic in the last episode has been white walls and some light wooden panelling, a touch of gray marble and dark green armchairs or couches. How is everyone decorating in the same style? I'm serious, it switched between four different places with completely different sets of characters (Miracle's Office, Art Gallery, Young Ki's office, the Hospital Director's Office) and it's legit like they contracted the same interior design firm.
I get it's like a certain time period but were people that obsessed with dark green? The colour sameness was kind of boring.
On another note, I was so confused the first 8 minutes; thought I skipped an episode or something lol.
I love the intent of this article, but tbh..mbti isn't about four letters, and therefore there's probably a lot of mistypes in here lol. The cognitive functions, (look up), not letters, are the ones that are important. Otherwise, it's pretty easy to justify yourself as like three different types. (Esp. 16 personalities, the site, is kinda shitty and vague)
Also, your MBTI doesn't generally change, for example, maybe you were unhealthy and developed certain cognitive functions, etc...you've matured, but that doesn't change your type suddenly. Maybe you grew out of your social circle and got to know more people; maybe you depended less on your subjective feelings, etc. Still doesn't change your type. One doesn't 'advance' through types, and there's no lesser/better one, but perceptively, maybe..
I know Korea is super into MBTI, but it's on a pretty superficial level honestly; there's really probably so many mistypes in here.
I've seen the same type /company truck in most of the Korean dramas, are they promoting their trucks in this weird…
Ooh, never thought of that, maybe lol. That would be so funny if it's like..the truck, with mega speed, mega power, that can kill the male lead/female lead/cause amnesia/..etc. Buy ________.
So since it's resumed updating from two days ago I keep trying to open the latest (25th?) episode and I don't know why but I can't. I'm still interested in it, but I can't, agh.
So yesterday I was busy and didn't get to watch the 9th episode..then I forgot, just now, that it aires in about more than an hour so I should have gone back on it an hour ago, but I just finished it so I still have this time to wait in between hahaha.
ALSO, I'm really happy the female lead is a prosecutor now, I think this hairstyle also looked much better on her (than her university school days). Another thing is that generally (I don't really understand why can't explain it technically) but she looks good in more basic duller colours? And her university wear was more colourful and didn't seem to fit her personality as much.
Finally, I am still waiting for that pre-resurrection Hyeon-Woo hairstyling and glasses agh. Speaking of which, I had a random thought where I wondered whether a benefit of his resurrection was getting good eye-vision. But he could also still get glasses as a fashion statement.
Costuming etc aside, the female lead is pretty interesting in this episode (I think because her job and whatnot connect with the story; also, we get a fresh point of view from the prosecutor's side).
I also loved the scene where Hwa..Jin? (I forgot her name) put on earbuds in the elevator, that just really summed it up well.
Also, that cliffhanger was good! I miss seeing (more) grandpa scenes though. Also, Hwa Jin? has been going crazy with eyeshadow for all of these episodes.
Edit: I think the female lead is going to be interesting and I'm going to like her a lot in future episodes; I also still think she doesn't have much standing in the first seven ish episodes and it's obvious she's there because we know she has to go through the process. So maybe there's a better way to introduce her character, other than dragging the audience along for the ride. I don't think her character is bad, but her character is poorly introduced (and that introduction to her actual significance carries on for a long, long time)
dilrabas beauty is OUT OF THIS WORLD! you are my glory with her and yangyang is the only c-modern drama i have…
I think the one thing different about the likes of Leonardo di Caprio for example, is that his star factor is universal. Hollywood reaches the most people internationally (China has a huge population but the stars' stardom only reach the borders of its own country and some spillovers to closer South-Asian countries generally. Also, objectively, he's a pretty good actor is well known for being a good actor. That's not to say actors earn ridiculous salaries in so many places of the world, including Leonardo di Caprio (and I think Timothee is good at acting, not crazy good, but gain I have only watched like two movies with him in it).
I think you meant 'who cares what those actors earn' generally, because the entertainment industry has always been very much linked the embezzlement, and fraudulent activity regardless of where, and it's important to be able to keep track of funds and put a certain bar as to how much someone is able to earn, not to mention looking into, what makes star power anyway? Objectively, the current Chinese entertainment industry is filled with young actors who don't know how to act/rake in money from star power, which there should be some regulation on (because if we look into acting as a profession, which it should be), regardless of how it's tied into fame, popularity and the benefits of stardom are the consequences and shouldn't be the prerequisites. China isn't the only one, obviously, but there should be a generally recognized standard for acting, or else you'd get anyone on the big screen. Yes, people who are popular get paid higher, etc, thats the positive trajectory of one's career, and for top stars, its both unjustifiable and justifiable and has a blurred line, especially as acting, singing, dancing, entertainment related careers are tied in to idolism, star power, and consumer buying power more than other professions by a huge margin.
I like both K-Drama actors and C-Drama actors, and I guess it's fun to discuss how some would be paired in a drama, but from my point of view, unless one side is decently proficient in the other' sides language or has a plot that justifies the language barrier, dubbing would basically be necessary, and I', just not really a big fan of dubbing as I believe an actor should be proficient in both verbal and action? parts of acting.
I agree that canceling in basically all around the world is extreme and there's definitely a debate on the moral standards actors themselves should represent..
Again, I feel like I went off a tangent here, but also if the last c-drama you watched was Nirvana in Fire, at least that was good to end on! I loved Nirvana in Fire! Again though, even thought the voice dubbing matched really well, I wish they were using live audio!

No, not joking! To catch you up on some history, a few years back, there was heavy flow of Korean Stars filming collaborational dramas in China (there's a name for this but I don't remember). For example, Lee Jong-Suk has a drama with Zheng Shuang (Though it will never see the light of day now not only because of the aforementioned ban but also her canceling lol). This is the only example I can think of rn but there were like a bunch. And obviously lots of dubbing haha. As for why, it's because the $$$ was defo in China. Don't get me wrong, if we're being real, SK had more developed tv, but the cash flow just wasn't there, while there was a huge market for Korean stars in China as well as the ability to supply high salaries for popularity, which wasn't a dual exchange in Sk at the time regardless of popularity. Don't know about it now, but just a year ago the Chinese entertainment industry took a huge whipping from netizens because of Zheng Shuang herself having had an exponentially high wage for an extremely dumbass movie I'm pretty sure? People weren't happy because though she had popularity, her acting skills were widely regarded as...below average and people were angry about the like, literal 6 figures an hour sort of salary for the work she put in compared to normal people working their butts of essentially. Long story short, basically stars are definitely paid way more in China, and the Chinese consumer base is currently huge. Then a few years ago, the government came down with the SK entertainment ban (I think it was due to actual political conflict between SK and China at the time but I forgot why so can't fill you in on this) and it's never been lifted ever since.
In case you aren't aware, Zheng Shuang is the female lead of one of the more popular C-Dramas, 'Love 020' Lee Jong-Suk is the male lead in popular K-Dramas Pinnochio and...W? I think it's just called W.
