Yes, only mafia are awake, but there are exceptions sometimes based on the game you are playing. In the card game, mafia has exact time when they are awake and when they should kill people. The night is shared with villagers with special roles - for example police or doctor.
Yeah, I know. Honestly, back than there wasn't such problem with it and the problems were resolved faster, so I don't understand really? Now MDL has more staff, but it looks like they ain't doing anything. Not even with this, but with the airing schedule for example. It's been days since I requested for it to be changed.

Doctor > save another player from being killed by werewolf * this is how it works in original game, but here they added a new power to the doctor aka getting someone back from death which in the original game belongs to the Necromancer
Police > Police can view someone else's card aka identity of their choosing

As an avid werewolf game lover who plays it everyday I know how this game works. Doctor picks someone to save BEFORE the big voting happens, giving that person immunity towards the killing. Doctor does not have ability to bring someone back from death, that goes to the Necromancer. Necromancer can bring back dead members of the game after the big main voting.
And even if the rules changed a bit and they made the doctor vote to save someone after the big voting aka, saving someone at night, it still would be just saving, not bringing anyone back from the death.
Nah they are actually dying, at least the mafia's killing the civilians are true.
There are deaths in videogames. This wouldn't be the first time that I had seen something similar happening. For all we know, if they die, they might wake up in the real world and continue with their lives.

The phone is basically a replacement of a physical role card.
