The ending is very hmmm special? If u look carefully it's not Liu and old Pop in the water, but young Pop and Dew, which in my head means that it was JUMP to future and the scene we see is the two boys playing in the water already reincarnated. Hope that makes sense, because in my head it does XD

The fact that he is gay has not changed so of course he won't touch Liu in that way or sth. Other than age there is a matter of sexual orientation. This movie perfectly showed that Pop loves Dew's soul. In your reply u mentioned two things : suicide and Pop not ''moving on''. How do u know that he did NOT try to go out with other men after Dew? Because he lived out of the village for many years, so where did your assumption come from? Also Liu DID have relationships and they obviously never worked out. I am not making up a fairy tale here or sth but some people never and I mean NEVER move on from a past relationship. Regading the suicide - it is a happy ending. U gotta have broader thinking for this, but Dew already reincarnated once, so he knew what was beyond the death. That's why was Liu so fearless, because she knew that death is NOT the end. They will be born again to be with each other, and if u do not like reincarnation stuff, I suggest u to stay away mostly from Thai dramas since their culture heavily talks about reincarnation.
