the japanese metaphor is on point! Also the chinese one! (also which drama is in the gif?)
The one for Japan? It's from a movie called: "This is not what I expected" (China), though the actor is Japanese, I think. Its for free on YouTube too and a cute RomCom.

Hahaha, I really enjoyed these parallels! It was very nicely written I chuckled at some of the descriptions because…
Thankyou! You must reallzy be addicted to plot twists! I found the Japanese ones the most puzzling, because I am not well versed in Manga reading and didn't know the tropes and signifiers. Though I love the more naturalistic ones, it's a nice change from the gloss of Korean and Chinese Dramas.

I love this article so much. And I fully agree with your assessment of each of the styles of dramas. Well, at…
I haven't found anywhere that translates Filipino Dramas and Movies, but they speak English half the time... but it's a bit of an adventure, that's for sure.

I laughed so hard. I loved your analogies, especially for China and Thailand. I just want to add, for China sometimes…
Oh, those are the worst. Often I am like 5 Episodes in before I get a weird feeling in my stomach... I have come across a few that seemed more Thai than Chinese too.

Nice and delicious article! Thank you for that :)The description for C-dramas is spot on - they're mostly pretty…
Some Lakorns are pretty painful to watch at times, so I thought it was fitting. :-P
I have not seen any Dramas from the Phillipines, only the movies available on Youtube . They were not translated, but they use half-English, half-Filipino and they are really sweet and fluffy.

Just like the saying goes, ''the way to a man's heart is through his stomach''. That's definitely true for the…
Yes, Dating in the Kitchen is so good. Are you currently watching it?
I tend to experiment more with Chinese cooking or Chinese-inspired, because the ingredients are available from a local store. I have recently made a Korean friend, who tells me she drives to a bigger city (3 hours) to get Gochuchang for her dishes or orders it online... I also have a small son, so experimenting has it's limits. :-P
Do you have a place where you get recipes from? I only know of Maangchi on Youtube.

The age gap here look less creepy than count my lucky stars. I guess since rosy is taller/mature looking and the…
I agree. ZLS's role must be at least 25 if she is a settled in chef, the guy looks like between 35-40 to me. So if they meet on an equal footing, it's not a creepy age gap.
Haven't watched "Count my lucky stars" yet, but I didn't find the age gap wild from the trailer there either... I have only seen the actress play adult roles though, maybe that's why.

With these trailers that keeps pouring...How can my Heart be still. Impatiently waiting for this dose of fluff.Btw,…
Same. I am going to drop everything else to watch this. Enough with the trailers!

Are you good at learning by listening, because it seems like you have an audio-visual brain...
My learning style is not audio-focussed, it's photographic and my experience with soundtracks is quite different. Two dramas where I still listen to the songs, because they are so good are Bride of Habaek and You're my destiny and I do so without thinking about the drama at all, because the drama wasn't as good as the song. I also remember plots if the plot is memorable, or by seeing a picture, or something. Some even where the soundtrack was bad enough for me to notice, and I really don't pay attention to the songs. I personally don't actually like it that much when there is a sung song, especially over dialogue, I would much prefer score only, but what can you do. ?‍♀️

I love Taiwanese dramas, because they are so warm and honest, even with the more unlikely storylines. I also really love their style of acting, which somehow is more natural than many other countries? Is that only my impression?
I have only been watching dramas for a year now, so I haven't watched any older than 2015 I think. I do find the humor a little silly, but somehow also funnier than many other countries humor. And hullo for the kissing and kissing+ scenes!
