Oh yes I've done that too before lol especially those FMV which are so beautiful they make you want to watch the…
Ah, the FMV, I love them so much. Many a drama landed on my list because of them, even if I leave some time between FMV and watching, so I don't remember all the spoilers. And then after the drama I go back and watch the FMV with the highlight reel again... lol. I do love this fandom a lot.
I don't mind spoilers, I almost always binge-watch and you get those spoilered from every side. Sometimes I actively seek out select scenes on Youtube and choose a drama based on the chemistry, though that might spoil things. But I hate the waiting. And yes, I do forget that the drama existed and end up watching 5 episodes in a row when I do remember... as happened with When the Weather Is Nice and In a Class of Her Own.
I tried watching My Husband In Law because I like Mew... but out of nowhere the story changed into a weird tech…
Yeah, skip ahead to the one where they go to Myanmar, it gets much better after that. The hacker storyline was kind of to show that she is not in fact a smitten idiot, but respected in her job and by her boss and could stand up to Thien if she wanted to.
What's wrong with Mark as a person... please dish! I have only finished two Lakorns so far and both had him in…
Thanks @Soju and @sjamili for your answers. I don't even know who Mint is, but an actress, I suppose. Okay, nothing too bad it seems, I can safely swoon for the characters he plays. I have said stupid stuff in anger before, I am glad no one leaks those things to the press.
When the Weather is fine, Jealousy Incarnate, 1% of Something and Scarlet Heart Ryeo are the ones I raved about, but I haven't watched a lot of Korean dramas. The acting is just off the hook in those, and When the Weather is Fine is just so realistic and well spun.
i dropped find yourself after 6-7 epsiodes.. the FL was 30+ and had a good career but behaved like a submissive…
Really? I watched it twice snd didn't find that part unbelievable. I have a 55 year old aunt that behaved like a teen when she met her now husband who was 65. She matures a lot in the show and so does he.
Sorry but the actor is not a striking beauty, he is average. So don't get the casting I have seen some of his…
I agree, he is not that stunning to look at, though he has a lot of charm. He also has really long legs, is tall and has the kind of figure that is considered the gold standard in many of the dramas I watched.
If this was about Japanese Dramas: Keep fit enough to sprint through your entire city at all times... you never know when the moment you need to arrives.
What's wrong with Mark as a person... please dish! I have only finished two Lakorns so far and both had him in it, because I mainly stay for his acting and not for the yelling/slapping.
I would not start with Tiger and Rose, even though it's hilarious. But it is a parody on the genre and I feel like you should watch at least two historical dramas so you get the inside jokes.
Ahh Find Yourself. In that drama, Song Wei Long's character's mental age was higher than Victoria's character's…
Yeah, that's why I really shipped it. They are the same mental age. It also made me understand my IRL friend who has a similar dynamic with her 10 year younger boyfriend... I mean, if the guy behaved immaturely and the girl was 10 years younger but mature, nobody would bat an eyelid.
I only saw and dropped Goblin out of these. I don't mind age gaps, as long as there is not also a huge mental age gap. And I feel like after the character is 30 or 35 10+ years is just not as icky as if one is fresh out of High School and the other has just been promoted to Senior Manager or whatever. A drama that handled age gaps really well is "Find Yourself" (China), like the characters actually struggle with it and you can still see why they work.
The FL maintaining the feminine look while cross-dressed is essential for male viewers ok?
Well, at least they could have removed her eye make-up. When she wears that red and white outfit, her eyes are so heavily blushed, it's just jarring. It makes me doubt the intelligence of the guys around her, they are all like "Oh, he is so dainty and behaves like a girl", but don't see her boobs in that high-waisted outfit. At least make her wear some sort of underboob-pillow or a very tight corset or whatever. She would still have really delicate features.
Now, I don't think we have the same tastes and thus my advice is worth nothing to you. But here it goes: DROP THEM ALL. There are more dramas than you can watch in a lifetime, why bother with irksome ones. I dropped DOTS after 6 or so episodes, because I liked the romance and sizzle, but not the war-storyline. Also, there wasn't a lot of depth to either of their characters, and if you don't give me kissing scenes on the regular you at least have to give me characters with the depth of the Atlantic. I also dropped Pinocchio because there was no chemistry between the leads and just watched the Highlight Reel on Youtube.
I have "only" watched a 30 or so dramas and have already started dropping them earlier on. I mean, I didn't start watching as a teen, but as a grown-ass woman, so I have become very selective in what I like as it is. I mostly watch for the romance and I am in either of two moods: fluff or melodrama. Very rarely will I watch anything that is not romance focused, and never crime-type-dramas. If I realize my romance has a super crime-y or icky subplot (and it's not just their traumatic childhood meet-cute, which also get on my nerves), I will drop it. If the chemistry isn't there or the acting of one of the leads is bad/annoying, I will drop. If the FL main characteristic is that she is naive and clumsy, I will drop. What has also started happening a lot recently, is that I lose interest in the last 5 or so episodes, basically after the dramatic climax, because I already know how they will wrap it up and I will often just watch Youtube clips of the rest and mark it as watched. Or skip, skip, skip... Also, some of the acting I have seen on Asian dramas is actually outstanding and much better than anything I have seen in Western media.
