I think it was DFL's soul that was in danger so DFYC took the soul in. Then DFYC gave the soul 10 years of his own vitality so the soul could survive on its own so the soul just went back to its own body.

At first, I also felt bad for him although it was totally in character with DFYC to take advantage. BUT, I still think DFL is bad news. First, as you said the way he listens to the conversation between THH and TRR. But most importantly, the "emptiness magic" he gave DFYC seems to actually negate the DFYC's burning flame thingy. I think he's just acting dumb for now. hehe years of watching cdramas has made me suspicious of everything.

Yeah I know. Happy endings are in no way guaranteed in cdramas, but their daughter's presence still makes me feel better because at least i know that THH and DFYC had some time together

A tiny hope is better than no hope at all. I would not hold my breath though. Cdramas have a knack for giving us unsatisfactory endings.

The cast list only says Susu. It doesn't say THH and DFYC's daughter. I'm afraid they are sticking to the original work (without the present time snippet). I don't think i would like that ending. Oh well, we'll see.
