Yes, it was mentioned that her love seed can protect the tree and if she feels love, it might bolster the tree, but maybe (im guessing?) the threat of SJ is stronger and more urgent now (THH said that SJ is stronger that her and Lai combined) so she has to use her love seed to stop SJ.
As for their potential daughter, although I think she loses her ability to love, I have no doubts that DFYC and THH will find a way to get together again. I just hope that the 20 remaining episodes will do their love justice.

She's destroying her love seed which means anything that has to do with romantic love will be destroyed in her like she won't remember who she loved and she is not supposed to feel love ever again (at least that's my understanding). So she can't fall in love with DFYC or any man again.
She never explicitly says she loved him or anything but I guess the way she hangs out with him, the way she smiles more (according to her sisters), and just the way she looks at him and kind of accepts his advances. I don't know it seems pretty obvious to me that she's interested.

Cant remember where I read it, but DFL might just be a disciple of the Tushan clan and does not have their bloodline like DFYC. Don't quote me on that though because I don't know anything about the original work. I think I read it or saw a video somewhere about it.
