Well... I've read the webtoon some time ago and recently watched the anime. The anime looked like sth divided in 2, each half made by different producers. Liked the first half of it. A pity the sequel of it didn't gave away the same feeling. And it lacked so much. Many of those things I saw in this first season of the drama. Some things I saw here and can't recall seeing in the webtoon, but which felt like filling some kind of gap. The plot isn't exactly as it's in the webtoon, some characters were replaced, some situations were modified. In my eyes, Lu Jin Nian is a colder person in the 'real story', but in the drama they made him sweeter, more gentle. I guess the producers didn't want people to dislike him, bc he mistreats Qiao qiao a lot in the manga. Tbh, I expected a more 'mature' actor to play that role. Dylan is too cute and baby-faced for this role, imo. Same goes for the one who played Jia Mu. Another change that made a lot of difference was Qiao An Hao's sibling. She's got a 'sister' actually and, bc of her, she's actually more 'gloomy' in the real story and goes through more 'trouble' bc of her. I missed that in the drama as well. Still, I enjoyed it. I like the storyline. The moral about it? Don't bottle emotions up. Don't assume things without talking/asking first.
Honestly I prefer this season even with the bad ending honestly because I read the novel I don't even mind it…
Similar thing happened to the anime version of it: the drawing design was beautiful on the first and second seasons, and it was completely changed on the third and fourth ones. It looked like a different anime. Plus, the 3rd season felt like a recap of the 2 previous ones. I can't understand what they do such things. Could it be the third parties didn't want to colaborate anymore?
I also found Mizuki more good-looking than Furukawa, but the latter still has some cuteness I didn't see in the…
Tbh? If you haven't watched After the Rain yet, give preference to the anime. The movie doesn't portrait the story as well as the anime does. It's kinda lacky. (After all, they've got different lengh)

Well, she's in her early 20s, so that's youg enough to me. I disagree with you (but ofc, that's a matter of preference; we don't have to share the same one). I think there couldn't be a better actress to play the main role in After the Rain (mostly when watching the Live Action after having watched the anime version). And she was also great to me in Yume wo Ataeru. I think it's more difficult playing such serious characters than playing the main role of 'We Love', for example. But well... I'm not someone who knows much about acting and cinema and all anyway. I speak only for the feelings I get from watching ppl playing their roles.

LOL! I don't pay much attention to how successful they are, as long as their act seems satisfactory to me. There are a few I do like, though, like Komatsu Nana. She's awesome to me. And she's so young!
The movie version was nice, but so lacking. It can't tell the whole story we can see in the drama version. It basically focus only on Ye Hua and Bai Qian, and it doesn't show the story btw Mo Yuan and 17 and it doesn't tell how Bai Qian, who's the queen of an immortal place, was once mortal, which I think makes a huge difference. As for the cast, I think Yang Yang was a nice Ye Hua, but I just couldn't see him as a Mo Yuan, which was nicely played by Mark Chao. The latter could easily represent both an older and a younger character, while Yang Yang looks too young for someone who would be older than Bai Qian. As for Cristal Liu, I don't think she was able to convey all the emotions Yang Mi conveys in the drama. I cried a river when watching the drama, but I wasn't really moved by the movie, bc the acting wasn't convincing enough to me. If you haven't watched the drama yet, I highly recommend you do so. The 58 episodes are very worth your time. I watched the movie just so I could see again the story I loved so much, but I wouldn't rewatch it again. I'd rather rewatch the drama.
Wow, the trailer looks amazing! I love the manga and anime; hopefully this drama won't disappoint :D
I loved the anime too! But it seems to me they could have chosen the main actors/actress better. But oh well, live actions hardly ever are as good as the anime/manga versions. Mainly when it's such kind of comedy.
i love yamazaki and all but i kinda was hoping they chose another (a bit older) male lead
I agree. For what I saw in the anime, Hirotaka seemed to be a little older guy. Yamazaki looks too 'teen' to play that role, imo. And, tbh, the same goes for Mitsuki playing Narumi and Takumi playing Kabakura. Idk, they don't seem to 'match' the characters. Nanao seems she'll play Hanako just fine.
I won't lie: it took me about a year to finish this drama. The first third of this drama was really interesting to me, then it started to drag a bit with all those twists and turns all the time. (There's one thing I don't like much in Chinese dramas is that they are too 'tragic' and too long. But I still want to see the romance I know it will be there. So I'm kinda masochist, I guess) And there was a time I wanted Fu Yao to end up with 'the second option'. But the story as a whole is nice, the romance is beautiful, the main actors have great chemistry, the message the story conveys is nice, and the ending was kinda predictable to me when I got to know who Fu Yao was. From the second third of the drama I was already watching it while doing something else. I definitely wouldn't rewatch this.
Actually having watched both dramas no matter how much i like the chemistry in legend of fuyao I still prefer…
I also loved Eternal Love way better! I know it's a personal matter, but EL made me want to watch it non stop, while it took me about a year to finish this one. Thank you! I'm glad you enjoyed it!They really did and they weren't long episodes either really; the amount of…
Although Tian Ching was a bad guy, I expected him to be bad just bc he was too spoiled by his mother and he had changed once he got Li Lan by his side. And bc he would have changed, Li Lan would get to like him back. But then... for them to keep together she would have to die in the real world and her soul would be 'trapped' in the underworld. And they would have to keep bribing the judge to keep living there. So that's why the other ending made more sense to me and was also 'happier'.
Interesting article! I didn't know about the ghost marriages being true. As for the drama, I liked it, mostly because they conveyed a whole story in few episodes. Tbh, I expected it to be more cliché and have a diferent ending, but the actual ending 'makes more sense'. Oh, that Kuang Tian. *_*
But I have to give it a try anyway, since the synopsys caught my attention just right.
