I guess the only "things" I liked in this drama: Souma and Yagami. Bad adaptation (the worse), bad choice of cast, bad both the opening and the 'sad' osts (I felt like I was watching a drama produced in the early 2000s).
This was such a lame drama. it felt low budget all the way. I only continued to watch because I liked looking…
If only it were more similar to the original plot, perhaps it would had been less worse. But one of the things that I disliked the most were the awful wigs.
What's with that female lead ? Always putting herself down and living for the only propose of satisfying her bf...that's…
I'd say it's not a matter of being cute or not. She's just a girl from the countryside who had a caring family and hadn't even had her first kiss or been on a date. So it's not a big deal she's innocent. Plus personality plays a big role too. Hiroto, on the other hand, couldn't stablish a relationship with women bc of how his mother raised him up, so he had some kind of anger towards them in general and felt better on his own. He saw Risa was different from his mother, so he wanted to protect her all the time bc he wanted to give her what he didn't have (and that's why he doesn't mind her being childlike) when he was the one who was innocent and should had been protected. Risa said herself she didn't want to feel useless and a burden to Hiroto; she wanted to grow up. But people just don't mature from night to day. And she's mature enough to know that and she's glad when she learns a little sth that makes her grow up little by little. Plus it's not uncommon for young girls to do all they can for the ones they love. And I do't think she was putting herself down; she didn't do anything unwillingly nor did anything she'd feel sad about. Do (or not) sth worried about how the other could react may be a matter of consideration and not only fear; proof is when she thought Hiroto would be angry at her for being with Yoshiki, bc she wouldn't like/accept her boyfriend being with another woman. It's a cliche plot, but both the personalities and the behaviour of the main characters and their relationship is easily justified and it's not really that far from reality (ofc, they do have a very fast start, among other things, but what do you expect from a manga??). I liked this short drama bc I found it warm. But ofc, I didn't write all of this to mean you're right or wrong, nor to try to convince you change your pov about it; just to show you there is another way to look at it. :)
This drama was so bad... the poor acting and crappy storyline was the worst. I only started to watch this because…
I thought I was watching a much worse version of Diabolik Lovers. The characters were definitely inspired on the ones of DL. I watched it till the end only bc it was very short and I don't like dropping dramas, but, man... this was such a waste of time! -_- And it was hard to stand an overacting of boy love (which I'm not into)! Ugh!
Everyone has been talking badly about the ending, its an open ending, I think the writers wanted to show us that…
You've got a really great point there. Helan suffered all that time and Huiyan it would always start from zero. They kind of inverted the roles in the end. Still... I guess everybody expects for that happy ending that makes you sigh and it ends up being kinda meh when compared to that. But I had't thought in that way you presented. I feel less disappointed now. lol! Thank you! ^^
I CAN'T BELIEVE I WATCHED 25 EPISODES TO WATCH THAT ENDING! GAHHHHHHHHHHH! I expected so much of it! T_T I don't regret watching it, but... gosh, they could had made it so much better. Gotta say: I liked the acting in general, but mostly Victoria's. I'm not much into 'fragile' type of female leads, but she proves herself actually a strong one. And less scenes with shirtless Jing Yu, please. My heart can't stand that much. lol
I agree with you. I thought Rika's crying and laughters were natural and real too. I think she did a very good…
I'd say: take some time, watch other dramas you wish, then when you feel like rewatching this drama, watch one of the other versions of it. I watched them all and I really loved them! Since I watched the TW version, now and then I sing along the song the best friend composed to his beloved. (P.S.: don't listen to it before you watch the drama; the song gives you some kind of 'impact' at the scene when the girl listens to the song) Since the TW In Time With You I'm always up for friend-to-lovers dramas. <3 Oh, and you may also want to try watching The Evolution of Our Love. It's the Chinese remake of this same drama. I don''t find it as good and the other versions, but you may give it a try for Lu Fei. lol
I looooooooooooooooooved it! I love the TW version, then I loved the Korean version more, and now this one even more! Ahhh, I wish I had an Ishida Ren for myself too! T . T
I loved the subjectiveness often presented in this drama! The birds, the shoelace thing... I hope to see more great dramas like this one. I guess I'm getting too old for fairy tales. lol
I loved it! Both the anime and your article! You've picked good actors/actresses for the roles. But I think I'd like better Jung Kyung Ho for Kabakura. ^^ It would be awesome if it was really made a live action version for this anime.
It's said the drama is a prequel, but I'd suggest you watching the movie first. I started watching the drama (watched only the first 4 episodes, since I didn't find the other ones) and we only get to know how they met in the intro (which takes seconds). I, personally, didn't like it much. The movie seems more well-paced and it seems to approach their story better.(Plus, if you also don't find the other episodes of the drama, you won't be left in the middle-way)
Still... I guess everybody expects for that happy ending that makes you sigh and it ends up being kinda meh when compared to that.
But I had't thought in that way you presented. I feel less disappointed now. lol! Thank you! ^^
