It was pretty good, definitely worth watch it, but the last episode was all over the place.

They actually surprised me with the real parents plot and overall it was written properly.

That's why I'm interested in this drama, I only need time to watch it. A lot of people say positive things about it, but I'm gonna binge-watch it, probably. Political dramas are not really good (for me at least) watch it weekly.

Yes. I can't even count how many of my fave actors had to run away because they had a different opinion.

And let's not forget about their own people. Like, if someone just sneeze, they will be sentenced to life in prison IF they're lucky. I don't like talking about politics, but we all see what they're doing every day. Honestly, I'm not even sure if these complaints coming from Chinese citizens. It's probably the CCP.

We could say it's just a fiction, but it's funny how the shoe fits for Chinese people. I mean, isn't their country is just like Russia or North Korea? Saying they're obsessed with power and War isn't farfetched, imo.

The competition is only 2 episodes so far, not 4. You could say they're dragging the story with the Mings, but I think they're important in this story because the villains can use them too.

So, in short: the story isn't more stretched out than in any other historical show. In other shows, you can see the main characters vs villains for at least 12 episodes doing the same nonsense all the time, so they can wrap it up in the lat 2 episodes. So, complaining about this in kind of unfair and ridiculous.

Let's say they will finish the Ming story in 5-6 episodes. That's 10 episodes shorter than in most Kdrama.

I probably write my opinion about every episode, but that's all. I barely watch dramas weekly btw, and this is one of the reason. I hate arguing in the comments. I only watch weekly shows if one of the actors is my fave, or I can't skip it.

To be honest, I don't think this many people would complain if TVN/Netflix release it all at once. I'm enjoying this every week, but I think many people would enjoy it more as a binge-watch.

I don't mind if people don't like it, I don't care about that all, but saying it's boring, badly written, makes no sense, ridiculous and slow is just nonsense. This is anything but boring. People who say it's boring, they should just state the obvious. They wanted something else from the story. This isn't your average historical romance kdrama and it was obvious from the start.

Probably, but also, I think the romance is developing well, it's just people want to see a faster develop.

The directors said it himself, the main focus is the cooking, nothing else. I know most people don't watch interviews, but romance is a side-story, but it's gonna happen, obviously. We all know because it's obvious since the 1st episode. That's the whole reason the book exists.

If they were together at half-time, that would mean a lot more unnecessary drama. Like, Mokju already hating her even tho they are not together. If they are actually together while she's just a chef of the King, everyone would riot. IF they rush the romance, the whole plot would be messy as hell, just like in almost every historical romance Kdrama.

I will come back and bite when the show ends and if I was right. I hope they won't mess this up in the last episode. 😂

It's not the creator's fault, because they're building the whole story properly, including the romance, but many people want to see them together since like episode 3 or 4, but this is not an average romance Kdrama, that's not the main focus. The main plot is the cooking and how to survive in this era. That's all. Everything else a side-story.

As I said, a lot of people might want different things, even tho they never implied the romance will be the main focus.

If someone watch this because they want hardcore romance, they're watching the wrong show. So, technically it's their fault. We've seen so many Kdrama with romance plot when the main couple only started dating in the last couple of episodes. To me, it's refreshing to see a show that's not using the romance plot as bait. It's natural in my opinion.

Looks like many people say it's boring, and they're dragging the competition for too long even tho it's only 2 episodes, and they will end it in episode 9, probably. Honestly, this is kind of an odd thing to say, because cooking is literally the Main Plot of the show. People might want more romance or fighting with the enemy, but those are just side stories. I wouldn't be surprised if they won't do much with the enemies, because it's not important at all. Like, Jiyeong already told us what's gonna happen. The King doing his research behind everyone's back. So there's no need to drag an unnecessary fight with his uncle or who he is and his concubine. I'd bet my house on them losing the fight before they make a real move, and they will do that in 1 episode, and I would LOVE that! I've seen 1000s of ridiculous fighting in historical dramas. It's boring, because they always dragging it for too long. When in reality everything could be solved in 2 episodes or so.

The romance in this story isn't really the main focus, but after the contest they will delve into that more, that's 100%, because it has its connection with the "back to the future" plot.

In short: I think a LOT of people want something else from this show, even tho the writer never implied they want to do that. So, it's not the creator's fault.

We could say this about pretty much every Kdrama set in the Joseon era. This is good, because the writing is good, and the show does what it has to, nothing more or less. I didn't watch "Tastefully yours", but most drama fail to deliver because they either drag the story for 16 episodes and solve everything in the last 2, or even mess it up. Or they just put 100 stories in 16 episodes for no reason. But here, they're only focusing on 2 stories. The cooking and the enemies. Going back home is not even important, like, at all.

The first episode alone showed everything about him, so maybe she only watched like 5 minute.
