I didn't see Tokyo. And that's Alice in Borderland.😅 And yeah it was great, but the difference is that it's not a shounen fight adaptation where so many CGI needs to be done. Most Japanese adaptions that are good are slice of life, thriller, crime, or horror adaptations. I've seen a LOT btw. I'm not nitpicking. The CGI is crap. I've seen better from fans. Just watch some fan-made adaptation on YT. I don't care if the show will be good, the trailer is garbage, simple as that.

If this would be a 100% Netflix adaptation, everyone would say the same thing. I mean, they did it many times. Death Note or Cowboy Bebop didn't have worse CGI or wigs etc, yet, people still said after one trailer that both were garbage.

I mean, I don't want it to drag for long, but honestly, I couldn't care less. I see that basically everyone talking about this and most people want romance, but all I care about is the womance. I'm only interested in that. Honestly, I hope there won't be any romance in this.😅

They say Netflix can't make a decent anime adaptation. They just did with One Piece.
I'll say, Japan can't do it either. The last time they made a good shounen adaptation was Kenshin.
This is just another averages at best adaptation from Japan, like Bleach or FMA! The VFX is really bad and those wigs, Jesus. 😅

I agree about the plot part in Doona. I love the show, but with 12 episodes it would've been much better. I wouldn't say, it's boring, they just left too much for the imaginations. If the viewer doesn't pay attention, they will miss a lot. I love CLOY too, and it's kind of weird that I gave 9/10 for Doona and 8/10 for CLOY, but the main reason is that I didn't really like the ending. Sure it's realistic, but still weird, and also, I had some other problems with the show. The actors are amazing, that's fore sure. Basically everything they did in the past is in my PTW list. 😅 I think I gave Doona a better score because it was much better than I expected and had fewer issues with it. Not to mention that I can relate with the characters more.

BTW did you watch Doona? I can't find it on your list. I was curious about your rating. 😅

I'm not saying it's the same level, COY is way more mature because it's about adults and the story is stronger, because of the situation between SK and NK. It's not even a fair comparison. Both show is mature and well written and directed, and both show has the same vibe and ending, but Doona has a better happy ending. Makes more sense imo because in COY the ending was kind of weird that they only can meet once a year or so I think.

I was a bit tired because of my work, so I had to look back here, so I can have a good laugh. Thanks guys! It's so funny how many people can't understand this show or dropped it after 2-3 episodes and say dumb things like Doona is toxic, a walking red flag etc. Guys, maybe if you watch the whole show or just pay attention to the details, you would understand her character and the story. Not everyone is toxic and or a walking red flag just because they're not acting like a freakin' Disney princess or a prince! Just look into the mirror! Are you a perfect person? You only care about other people and never offended anyone, and you're always cute and happy? If not, you're just as bad as Doona! I just wonder, how you would feel if there's nobody who can or want to help you, you're totally alone, and even your so called fans are toxic with you and stalking you. I'm sure, your personality would be bubbly like a character from a Disney movie. 🤣

I've not seen many shows on VIKI, only 10 or so, and most of them were a mess. Word for word translation isn't a good thing. I know Netflix subs aren't the best sometimes, especially in Kdramas, but on Viki the whole sub is a mess. You don't need to translate every word to make sense. A lot of lines are way too long. The character hardly says 3 words and the line looked like a full page in a book.🤣 The formation of the subs are terrible too. You need to pause the show if you want to read everything, because they don't use breaks, either.

On Netflix, the max CPS is 25, so everyone could read it. On Viki I don't think there's a limit. A pro translator can do a better job using 25 CPS than any other who's doing it with 100 CPS.

For example: Extraordinary Atty Woo has one of the best sub on Netflix. There's no long lines and still, you can understand everything. It's all about talent, not CPS. I mean, it's just a Kdrama, not a documentary. I have never seen a Kdrama, especially a mythological show, where the characters overcomplicated something. It's actually the opposite. Back in the day, I've translated a lot of anime, so I can learn the language. I know how fans can be. They want everything right away, they don't care about the quality. Well, most of them. Also, they don't like when the translator doesn't include honorifics, like: Chan, Kun or in Kdrama, Unnie, Oppa, etc. I could go on about this all day, but I don't want to.

On Netflix, the main problem is that most Kdrama translators, don't even know what Kdrama is, and they don't know anything about the culture either. That's why some subs are bad. On Viki, it's the polar opposite. They're fans, and they want to include everything, but that can ruin the fun too. That's why I love to work for HBO more because the CPS limit there is 30 and it's perfect for everything.
