This show don't deserve the hate at all. I wrote a review why people should ignore the dumb fangirls. In short: Nam-Soon and Bong Soon is literally the same show with different characters.
No one is sympathizing with him. What are you talking about?π€£
Okay, I thought you're talking about Kiho's dad. I'm not saying we should sympathize with him, I hate him too, but I can understand why Mokha said that. She has a point, kind of. He wasn't bad because he was born that way, he was ruined by his addiction, and alcoholism is a disease too. I think Mokha just naive and too kind and always trying to find the best in everyone. Also, it was her dad, you can't hate your parents even if you try. Even Kiho was sad in the finale.
How should I describe Castaway Diva in simple words? It's a show about fighting for your family, your love, your dreams, and never give up! Mokha is probably the most inspiring character I've seen. Park Eun Bin and the whole cast and crew deserve every award! I will write a longer review about the show later, but all I can say, I don't really know if I should give 10/10 or 9/10 for this show. It feels like I'm nitpicking, but honestly, there were a couple of things in the story that could've been a bit better. In my heart, this is a perfect drama, but as a more critical person, it's "only" a 9/10! It would be surprising if Park Eun Bin and the crew won't win anything next year. Amazing show, acting, writing, the entire production, and probably THE Best OST too. I don't even remember when was the last time a Kdrama had a perfect OST, not just the songs, but the score itself too.
lol I usually get triggered by sad plot-lines for the good characters too but when itβs done well, you canβt…
I wasn't really angry in a way like many people would, normally. I still love what they're doing, I'm just sad as hell. I always prefer great writing even if it's not a happy ending, but in this case I really want them to get their happy ending. I know, this is a paradox.π Also, thank you for the birthday wishes!
I was so happy before the scene with Ranjoo's mom. I thought, this mind could end on a happy note, even tho I felt this could happen. Ranjoo's mom wasn't enough, they had to do another one? WHY??? WHY??? 10/10 episode again, but man, this show is too realistic. If I don't get a happy ending in the finale, 1 day before my birthday, I will travel to Korea and I will smack the writer on her head.π
Anyone else agree that K-dramas should stick to their original formula of one season only? Cause after SWNS -…
No, I disagree, because there's a lot of Kdrama that should have more seasons. Shows like this or the Uncanny Counter for example aren't typical Kdramas, that's why they have more seasons. SWDBS and SGNS are totally different because SGNS is more like a Spinoff, not a second season.
If you think that's the message, you have a serious problem in your head.
No, I didn't say you have to give up family. You have to give up your love life for years. In this case, it's the same really, because she doesn't have a real family. Sad, but this is how this industry works.
Ranjoo is absolutely right. Mokha isn't a huge star, she's not even a real singer right now. If people will know…
Stop saying, she's selfish, she's not. Also, it didn't happen suddenly. She left them once already. It's not like she's a lawyer who could help them. She's just another person whose life could be ruin if she stays with them. Would you want from someone to live with you if you have a shitty life like Kiho's family have? If you do, you're the selfish. Her career isn't even started. Do you think everything is sunshine and rainbows? This business is a literal HELL for singers. You never read any article about Kpop Idols? Just watch Doona for example. What happened with Doona, can happen with Mokha later. Labels have strict rules when it comes to love life. If there would be a next season, it could be about Mokha and Kiho can't date, because that's how this toxic industry works. You want a typical happy ending where everything is good, sunshine, and rainbows.
Also, she's changed, a bit, yeah, and that's a good thing. It's about damn time for her to focus only on herself and not others. If you think you wouldn't the same, you're naive.
"I don't know how you got the assumption that I'm either young or have everything in life"
You don't know? Maybe read again what you said. If you're not young, you're just naive as hell, and you live in your own bubble where everything has to be black or white, while the real world has millions of colors.
"If only Mokha does that, then she will help her with her future. Does that sound normal to you?"
Yes, it does, because that's how the music industry works. I worked with singers, so trust me, I witnessed it up close. Ranjoo and her manager (the old guy) literally gave up everything so she can be a huge star. That's how you can be a successful singer. If you can't do that, it's your choice, but you're not going to achieve your goal. When she achieved it, she can be with Kiho and everyone else. Simple as that.
"my opinion is based on how the plot went from day one and how they made us expect things from each character."
Sure, but the problem is, that you want something from the plot, that never was there in the first place. Most people wanted a typical fun, lighthearted, boring Kdrama with the same old romance, and now they're acting like the writer lied to them.
If you think that's the message, you have a serious problem in your head.
Do you know how this celeb industry works, no? She's not even a real singer yet, not to mention the fact that she's not a huge pop star. If people find out that she knows them, they will ruin her career, because every company would choose money over the artist. They didn't even want her because she's 31. Do you think they would protect her if people find out about Kiho and his family? No, they wouldn't. That's how this industry works. She was alone for 15 years, she can be "alone" for another month or so while Kiho and the rest will solve their problems. People will forget about them anyway, because they're innocent. Also, she's not forced to do anything, she chose to do this. The show portrays perfectly why following your dream is hard. Especially in the music industry. And this is just the start. What would happen later is that you can see in Doona for example. Labels force their talents not to date for years, because it can ruin their image. Also, Kiho helped her, but it's not like he's the reason Mokha can be a singer, and she didn't do anything. She doesn't owe him anything.
Naw, I'm not reading more comments. I will have brain damage. Seriously, it's so sad, how many people can't understand the most simple things in Kdramas. Go, and watch 10 years old Kdramas where everything was the same, cute, fun and happy end, and you didn't have to thinking about it, because everything was spelled out loud.
One thing is not liking a plot, a character etc, but saying it has plot holes or doesn't make sense, when it does is another. If you don't pay attention, it's not the creator's fault, it's the viewers'.
Ranjoo is absolutely right. Mokha isn't a huge star, she's not even a real singer right now. If people will know…
Mokha didn't change at all. She literally left them a couple of episodes ago, and now you're surprised that she will leave them for a couple of weeks or months, so nobody will get hurt? That's the reason she wants to focus on herself now, because she lost 15 YEARS of her life. Even Kiho wanted her to leave, before Mokha did it. She still cares about them, it's not like she left them forever, but what could she do? Live with them and lose her only chance to be a singer? Look at the manager guy, he didn't have any problems like that, he was just scared and didn't become a singer. Kiho's waited for her for 15 years, he can wait for another month or so. It's not about getting rich, it's about fulfill her dreams, and the fact is, if she would live with them, she can't be a singer. It's not a Disney fairy tale, the sad thing is that you can't have everything you want. You have to give up something to achieve another thing. But because this is a Kdrama it will be a happy end anyway, but in real life, I'm pretty sure this happened with a lot of people, and it wasn't a happy end.
About Ranjoo: You don't understand her character at all. The episode made 100% sense, you just don't get it because you're probably too young to understand how the real world works. Or you're the luckiest person on Earth and you have everything you wanted. Love, family, career. 98% of people don't have that luxury. Ranjoo is selfish? Girl, she's literally give up everything for Mokha. She only needed to sell like 20K albums and 50% of the Label would've been hers, but no. She's taking a huge risk with Mokha. In the real world, we would say, she's an idiot or Saint, because there's no person on this planet with a brain who would've done this for Mokha. Even tho Mokha is talented, there's no guarantee that she will be a huge success in the long term.
Also, thank you for the birthday wishes!
