He still has his job bro like the foundation (mostly charity foundation like hi aide cho said), he is just doing…
A foundation is not a real job and he said it himself that he doesn't have job because Hyeon literally told him women don't like unemployed men, and he asked, "Really?" 😂
Also, it's not like Huiju had the best life ever and nobody wanted to unalive her multiple times, yet she's still working. Ian never had a real job. He just had to sign some papers and meet with people.
I honestly think IU was given the original script during casting, because there’s no way someone as selective…
No actor on this planet ever gets the full story of a weekly show because it's not finished. They can only get the 1st episode or 2 or 3 at best. The webnovel is basically just fixing all the mistakes the writer did in the drama; this isn't the original script. This is a prequel, and the actors couldn't play teens in the drama anyway.
IU herself said the director asked her to play teen Huiju because he didn't want to cast another actress. Why? Because that would be more expensive, not to mention no IU in the first couple of episodes.
People cannot be satisfied. Like if it’s a 16 episode drama people say it drags, if a 12 episode drama they…
You can't satisfy everyone, but if you don't even try, what can you do? The writer just put 2 really popular actors on the cover, and that's all she/they did. Like, even their romance was lacking. I'm not talking about chemistry even tho I've seen much better, even with IU, I'm talking about the writing of their relationship.
And we didn't mention the other characters and plots.
You know, I always say Kdrama fans can't surprise me anymore, but they did it again.Since when have people been…
I love how SOME Kdrama fans with their blindfolded love always prove my point. For example, @LilyOfTheValley came here ranting while saying she doesn't care about my opinion and calling me a hater, then blocked me. But I'm the one who needs education. 😅
Just because your pretty ex-prince has a foundation doesn't mean he has a job. He himself asked when Hyeon said to him, "Women don't like men who don't have a job," and your prince asked, "Really?" Ergo, Ian doesn't have a job. I'm only stating the obvious, that's not hate.
I've been a fan of IU since 2008 when nobody gave a damn about her. I don't care about commercial success and numbers. You're probably a success stan, I only stan talent and quality. You're a fake fan who gives 10/10 to everything. I criticize my own faves' work. Trust me, IU and every other artist appreciate real and fair opinions more than blind love.
You can be swayed by cute lovey-dovey scenes, I only care about a properly written script and character. We don't have that in Perfect Crown. You can love it, I don't care, but only toxic fools call people "haters" for their opinions.
Also, talking about someone's mental health is disrespectful to say the least, and you wanna come here and educate people. Kiddo, go back to school and learn basic manners, and stop using your obsessed Kdrama fangirl brain.
"Besides they showed that huiju started working again after three years does that mean she was jobless for three years."
Yeah, but the difference is that Huiju actually rich and worked hard for her money and had to wait for 3 years till she could get her job back. Meanwhile, your prince never had a job and was way paid by commoners.
"Anyways taking a break doesn't mean relying on wife to pay bills. He wasn't as rich as huiju but as a prince he must have had enough money to live a normal life without working."
This is how I know you're a kid still. Taking a break is not wrong, and finding a job isn't easy; trust me, I know. I have worked in the entertainment industry for over 2 decades now. But as I already told you, the fact is there. Ian himself said he doesn't want to work, and he didn't know women hate men who don't have a job. Like, open your eyes for the love of God and look beyond his pretty face.
At least I can say I'm not an obsessed fan who calls everyone a hater, and I judge everything based on quality, not based on my love for the artists.
with that list, it's sure what your standards are. there is no way you can like this
I've been a UAENA since 2008, and I rate it a 6/10. Don't generalize people.
The rating has nothing to do with IU or BWS, this is an ongoing thing with every romcom. Lovely Runner was much worse, and it was overhyped too even tho neither of the leads were mainstream.
Would You Marry Me, Love Next Door and that Sex Phone nonsense were also overhyped, and all 3 were bang average at best.
What are you trying to say? Where's the crazy part and wheres fair unfair comparison. Did you try reading what…
I'm not trying to do anything, let alone convince you. Also, just because I'm a fan doesn't mean I have to love everything.
Trust me, I work with artists; they want real and fair opinions, not blind love.
Like you said, "those scenes be a some 1 minute shorts" This sums up perfectly what's wrong with Perfect Crown. 😂 Even the romcom part is lacking.
But yeah, I know most Kdrama fans who love romcoms can be swayed with 1 or 2 cute scenes. I mean, that's the whole reason romcoms are still the most popular genres. If you ask ChatGPT to write you a Kdrama it could do it, I'm sure. All you need is a popular and good-looking lead, some random plot, put a Jinmu in every scene to make the lovers' lives a bit miserable, and the story is done. 😅
What are you trying to say? Where's the crazy part and wheres fair unfair comparison. Did you try reading what…
LOL!
But I didn't compare the fantasy side of the story. I only compared the romance. That's not fantasy. I mean, okay, he was a prince/king, but their relationship is not fantasy. It's still two people who love each other.
What are you trying to say? Where's the crazy part and wheres fair unfair comparison. Did you try reading what…
I didn't think you tried to dismiss my opinion, and I never said I don't like the drama; I rate it 6/10 and that means it's another bang-average romcom, nothing more.
Many people disliked Tangerines because it's not your typical romcom or Kdrama in general. It was too realistic and hard to watch how the characters always had to suffer. That's how life works, but I get that people watch TV Shows or Movies to escape reality.
You can like or dislike something, but you can still see if the script was actually well-written or not. That part is not about personal opinion because that's a fact based on real evidence.
BTW, I don't see Tangerines in your list or in your review section either so you must have drop it like after 5 minute? XD
Probably because it’s 12 episodes, they had to rush the story? Even though it’s ended, it still feels unfinished…
Not really, it's just the same old writer-nim being incompetent.
I mean, we've all seen good and bad dramas with 5, 8, 12, 16, or even 60 episodes. It was never about the quantity. If a writer can tell you a story in a 2 hour long movie, 12 hours is more than enough.
What are you trying to say? Where's the crazy part and wheres fair unfair comparison. Did you try reading what…
Huiju never loved him; that's a fact. So they didn't have anything going on. It was one-sided from Ian's side. I mean, Huiju literally said in the finale she fell in love after their kiss or something.
I don't mind the setup, the contractual marriage. What I don't like is that the character development is nonexistent, basically. And yes, I do care about the plot itself, a cute romance is not enough for me, not even in a romcom. If you want to you read my review, I don't want to write it down again. 😂
I still don't know what Ian can offer now as an unemployed guy, but okay. I mean, other than loving each other. That only works in a romcom. The real Huiju would file divorce the minute he erased monarchy, tbh. 😂
Jokes aside, let's not forget that Ian never asked her opinion about anything. He only told her after he told everyone. She was basically the last one to find out. That's not how a good husband should act.
IU has delivered four to five consecutive dramas that were at an award-winning level. However, this time it didn’t…
I was about to say this. IU has been nominated for Best Actress at Baeksang every year since My Mister (2018). That's 3 dramas in a row + 1 movie as well.
idk why some ppl only rate shows based on the actors and not the actual story/plot of the drama ppl blindinly…
I've been an IU fan since 2008 and I rate this 6/10. People on MDL and in the Kdrama community in general don't want to give a lower score than 8/10 because, as they say, everyone should respect the hard work of the cast and crew, and most people only care about the romance anyway and if the scenes are cute enough and it's their favorite actors, it's already a 10. No point paying attention to ratings anymore.10s and 1s are just as ridiculous. People don't know what critical thinking is.
You know, I always say Kdrama fans can't surprise me anymore, but they did it again.
Since when have people been praising lazy ass men who don't want to have a job and rely on their girlfriends/wives to pay the bills?
Like, I remember people trashing Kim Jiwon's ex in "Fight for My Way" for doing the same thing, and now people are making excuses for Princess Ian. Why? Because he's the ML and pretty?
What are you trying to say? Where's the crazy part and wheres fair unfair comparison. Did you try reading what…
I "drag" it because it's another show with IU. You can disagree, but as far as I can tell, you didn't watch this drama yet, so...
Anyway, some spoilers if you did watch it but lazy to update your list. 😂
Not sure why you disagree, btw, because their whole relationship was based on a contractual marriage; she only wanted his status. Then, she randomly falls in love after 1 cute moment and says things like, "I never cared about status," yet that's literally what she said in the 2nd episode. It's one thing to say, "I don't care about status anymore because I love you," and another to forget where you came from. This is character suicide. This is what we call a rookie mistake or lazy writing. She sacrificed her whole arc on the cute one-line altar. The ML had also loved her since school days for like a decade and never made a move. If Huiju doesn't want his status and he's not a prince, they will never be together. And now in the finale, the guy is literally useless because he doesn't want a job for 3 years while his wife is working all day, so he wouldn't die of hunger. What a guy.
What are you trying to say? Where's the crazy part and wheres fair unfair comparison. Did you try reading what…
I was pretty obvious. Tangerines had 3 different romantic relationships, and all 3 were much better written even tho it wasn't a pure romcom. The crazy part is that this writer couldn't handle anything, not even the romance.
I mean, does she have brains? She's now married to a guy who doesn't want a job.😂
Why the facepalm? I've see you all calling other male characters losers who had a job and didn't have any big issues.
Isn't it funny that a cute male gets a free pass for being unemployed for years and Huiju is basically keeping him alive? Kdrama fans never fail to amaze me.
It's crazy that IU had a romantic relationship with 3 different men in "Tangerines" and all 3 were better written than the one in Perfect Crown. Is it a fair comparison? Not really because the one who wrote "Tangerines" is a more experienced writer, but still... it's crazy.
Yes, but it was paid by the crown or, more like, commoners. Also, Huiju was sleeping in that mini palace. Sorry, I forgot its name. That wasn't his residence. That's part of the palace.
Also, it's not like Huiju had the best life ever and nobody wanted to unalive her multiple times, yet she's still working. Ian never had a real job. He just had to sign some papers and meet with people.

Tbh, I wouldn't be surprised if they nominated her again because Baeksang needs a popcorn drama every year. I mean, just look at Lovely Runner or Bon Appétit. So, she still has a chance.
Her acting was good; it's just that the script was poor, so she couldn't do much with it.
Since when have people been praising lazy ass men who don't want to have a job and rely on their girlfriends/wives to pay the bills?

You rate the story, not their work, and let's be real: the writer barely put any effort into this story.
Well, I don't because the writer was too lazy to make even the smallest thing obvious.
I was more focused on the plot holes and Huiju's never-changing nails in 3 years. I think that says enough because I never cared about nails. LOL.
