Let me tell you, let me tell you...if you are not watching this drama, it's too much. You will be annoyed, frustrated and just so mad. That is where I am right now.
Just watched the first 4 episodes. Here is the breakdown. STOP! if you do not want spoilers.
It starts out with Gu Meng running towards a fire shouting her father's name and dropping a watch.
Fast forward two years later and you find Gu Meng in a club singing. Enter Xiao Hong Ye who is now a governor. He became the youngest governor because the wealthiest family in Luo City, the Gu family was wiped out overnight. That was his steppingstone to Commander Zhou. He is now with the Zhou's daughter.
Gu Meng is now singing at a club. She is later dancing and switches places with Zhou's daughter and is dancing with Xiao Hong Ye. He realizes who she is. She tries to kill him while dancing, and he pushes her back and she hits her head. He takes her back to his mansion and tells her she is his maid because she now has amnesia. He doesn't believe her but with her trying to escape several times, he knows she is not faking it. He even tells another maid to tell her she is a maid.
Back story on the wedding, Gu Meng (at the scene of the fire and they are both in wedding attire) confronts Xiao Hong and tells him that he killed her whole family. She asked him why he killed her family; he tells her that her father killed more than ten people in his family. His home was ransacked and destroyed. As a result, his father died from hunger and cold. He watched his mother being violated by someone. She jumped into a well and died. He told her, her family deserved it. She doesn't believe her father did that and he is accusing her family falsely.
Gu Meng tells him that he deliberately tried to get close to her. He told her that he loved her. That it was all lies. She was just a tool to retaliate against her father.
Xiao tells her that it was her honor to be used as a tool. She calls him a murderer. She takes her hairpin to kill him, and she falls into the water. In the water, she thinks about how they met. She recalls their wedding. She wanted him to treat her well. and she said to him to be sure to make her become the happiest woman in the world. They both pinky swear.
Time goes back to current, as wakes up and finds herself tied up in the mansion of Xiao. Waking up she ask him who he is.
As Xiao sits there, he thinks about how she is alive and for the past two years how she has suffered to seek revenge. She asks him again who he is. He says memory loss. That is the kindness to his enemy's daughter and is the trampling of the dignity of his family.
This begins the suffering of her at the hands of Xiao. He treats her really bad: - She is handcuffed, and her feet are too because she tried to escape - Gets his other maid to agree to tell her that she is a maid - Stuffs food down her mouth after she became insolent when he asks her to make his plate - Tries to steal the key to get of her chains off and he catches her, throws her on the bed and the kissing begins. - Zhou's daughter tries to whip her because she blames her for stealing her clothes. Xiao says he will do a room search. At gun point, he makes her strip (only taking her top off) and sees the leaf tattoo which he now realizes this was the surprise she had for him for their wedding night. He recalls their wedding night after seeing the leaf tattoo and makes her leave. She only had two conditions: That he would always love her and treat her well. -Gu Meng decides to give in and stop trying to leave. Xiao makes her bring buckets of waters for him to take a bath. He then picks her up and puts her in with him. More kissing. (He is too fine), Zhou's daughter comes in and Gu Meng takes the opportunity to kiss him again. She is now going to be his concubine.
Well, Zhou's daughter is not happy about him making her a concubine and decides to set her up. She has one of the male staff take her and assault her. She calls Xiao and his second in command comes and tells her he isn't around. She tells him that he needed to see that she is committing adultery. Someone gets a surprise, and it is her. When they pull the covers back, Xiao is in bed with Gu Meng.

@zcc8888 and may I say that I never said that Vin was not a talented actor nor was he NOT doing a good job in this drama. I was strictly stating my opinion of what I was seeing in both these dramas.
As I, and probably most of us did NOT know the filming process so as you said now that we know, we can only say thank you for filling us in!
@ErickaRamirez ANNOYED!!! SY needs to go. This wife has to be the dumbest yet. I mean come on, she sees the signs and is not acting? She calls her mother to ask her if it is ok to let her LEAVE HER HOUSE!!! What?
Honestly, I don't know why this could EVEN be a comparison to You Are My Glory but, shall we move on.
Personally, I want to slap Li Chi. He just needs to go. What is his function because he most certainly isn't doing any work of any kind. Why is he so adamant to be a cog in the wheel of seeing the company succeed.
GL and CS, as I've said before I am not feeling any type of attraction between these two. Even though they say opposites attract. This couple is just not doing it for me.
We are only on episode 12 out of 32 episodes so I cannot wait until we start getting into the meat of the story of what happened to XY parents. Of course, we know someone killed them no doubt. What is really going on with XYS and what he has been through all these years?
I cannot wait to see them in a relationship because that is surely going to be interesting to say the least.

@Monero Rhania agreed but unfortunately, FOR ME, the similarities of him portraying the same character in AROTLF is just too close. He is playing the SAME type of character down to the glasses! Again, just my opinion. But I am most definitely feeling that as we keep going it is getting better than his previous role, to which I am happy about.
Ok. Ok. Kim Jae Wook is giving us an historical drama…yes! Love me some KJW! Oh, and don’t let me be remiss in having Lee Jae Wook too. My heart is racing! I cannot wait!
pretty leads, some cute side characters, wasted with bad writing and mediocre c-drama directing. I really hoped…
@Wndering Dragon I loved You Are My Glory and that is nowhere near this and was a much better drama in my opinion than this one. I feel that Vin is still playing the same role that he did in AROTLF. Wearing the glasses, standoffish, trying to get her to love him.... This one is a much better one than that drama. But again, along the same lines.
Please don't hate me too much.I have an issue with how the FL consistently props her mouth open after every sentence…
@JustRozelyn yes Vin has been in the same role in the AROTLF and now this one. I need to see him break out into a different role. But he has some up-and-coming ones that I think we will see a different side.
As far as the FL, I do like her, but I wish she would stop wearing her hair like that. It is not that becoming to me. I like when she wore the beret it was cute on her.
