I cannot!!! I have watched episode 23 - 3 times. This is too much. I mean what do we have to look forward to in episode 24. What do you all think? Give me a shout out on your thoughts.
OMG! “Let me take care of her. Let me take care of her from now on. Please believe me once.” Too much. And then: “Let’s get back together. I’m not telling you this for any other reasons. It’s because I love you. I’m here to look for you today to tell you that no matter what happens, I’ll never leave you. You can believe me because I’ve come to Xijing I was there at the hospital. I was there at the flower shop next to your campus. None of those were coincidences. I came here for you. You’ve left again within saying goodbye. I’ve planned never to go back to Xiaozhou Village. But on the day I was moving, I saw the words you’ve written on the T-shirt. He Ran..you know I understand every word written on the T-shirt. I really don’t know what I should do with you because I love you. I love you very much. I was walking on the street one day I passed by a fish stall. I saw a fish with calcification in its tail. The owner wanted to sell it at a lower price. If nobody buys it he will throw it away. I bought it with the original price. I insisted on applying medicine for it every day. I want to treat it until it’s recovered. I want it to be happy as it used to be. God had helped me. God has helped me find my beloved woman.”
Are we all swooning or what? My heart can’t take it.
Can we please see her mother get some happiness too?
So, the more I thought about it as I worked out at the gym, EK gave us ALL a master class in manipulation and deception. See what one hand is doing while the other is doing something else so to speak. Why do I say that? Think about it.
She never was one to let anyone get over on her. But when she was trapped in a corner by BD, she never saw her: suing her for adultery or her designs and bringing her in-laws to the house. But guess what? She was prepared anyway.
First of all, she manipulated her own sister. She left (I believe) on purpose her laptop so her sister could see that she was being sued for adultery. You think that she wouldn't know her sister wouldn't get on her laptop because she was acting all shady? Oh, and you didn't think she wouldn't know her sister was going to go to CW and talk to him about EK being sued?
The wheels were now set in motion...
She then goes to BD and does all the drama of kneeling down and saying, "just kill me." Come on this is one chick that would not want that. You don't think that she didn't know that CW was following her and would be at BD's place at the same time to see her kneel. Her big crying spree with CW and saying she didn't want him...all manipulation!!!
Oh, and you don't think that she didn't know BD's demeanor well enough that she wouldn't withdraw all the lawsuits? Come on. She had this well played because why after one class would she resign? She was getting PAID!!! And this was what she always wanted and now we didn't have to hear her keep crying poor. But no, she does all the drama and get this, if you didn't have this all planned out, why did you already have a bag at the bus depot? Because she knew that she had manipulated BD so that she would not have a trial. That girl already knew where she was going to settle and already had another position. She was teaching at that school by the sea. Oh, and you think her sister wasn't in on this? They were thick as thieves.
She got what she wanted in the end...she got CW because her sister and her had worked it out that if enough time went by, she could bring him to her. This was all well played out from the beginning to the end. Her getting her first red balloon...CW!
This drama came in guns blazing but went out with a whimper.
Why did they make EK so weak at the end? She was so strong standing by her convictions and then just gave in at the end. No fight whatsoever. It was sad to see. I would have truly like to see what she would do when boxed into a corner liked she was.
BD, I feel was justified in suing her for the designs but as far as the adultery, I would have done that quietly between EK and CW. BD's mother just went off by putting the sign at the school saying she was an adulterer, but I think that all stemmed from what she went through with her own husband. She needed to get over in her own way not egged BD on to satisfy herself.
CW he too me was always a weak link. He never stood his ground with BD, and feel that CW was always in the "shadows" with BD. He fell in love with her on sight and BD just used him in her own way to handle the home life and their daughter. She never, in my opinion, treated him like the husband she should have which was a partnership and not one-sided as it was apparent in this relationship. EK was more along his lines because she was more giving than BD.
Now, what I didn't care for is that they made EK look like she was the victim throughout the finale of the drama. She was not the victim, she got caught and if she hadn't what would have been her next play? I love EK's ex-boyfriend. He was hilarious when talking to CW. They were a nightmare...lol.
For her to then give all her endless martyr speeches was a bit much. I need to go work on myself. Girl please, you caused all the drama. It was really too much to see her and BD talking at the end. And by the way, what was up with her running around in that schoolgirl outfit when she was dropping charges? Why? To say that what EK had done now was not justified? I could see taking the video down due to her daughter and pulling as I stated before the paperwork on being an adulterer. I'm sorry when you mess with folks' money, the fight is on. After all she was trying to do to clear her father's debt and she took her down that low. I couldn't forgive that...not even for the other things she did. She wanted forgiveness too soon. The friendship would be dissolved.
No matter how many years, in all what she did she cut the ties that bind between us. She did everything of her own volition. I was tired of hearing her talk about how she grew up and was born poor. So that gave you no common sense of right and wrong? You were going to be a teacher for goodness' sake. How can you teach others when you can't teach yourself?
I mean she is not the only one who grew up poor in their life. But she was willing to continue to be BD's gofer and that was on her, no one else. BD yes, should have done better with compensating her. But EK choose her path and for her to keep saying the same thing to me was just too much. Yes, she went to a remote island, but I think in the end it was a cop out and she should still be held accountable, not by her standards but by others. She was still calling the shots at the end because she gave herself her own punishment. Seriously? Just like when your child does something wrong you punish them and make them accountable for what they did. EK really didn't...she was let off. That too me was wrong.
I was glad to see EK's sister move on and do her volunteer work but isn't it funny how CW did come along. I believe EK's sister convinced him to go and see her. I guess he finally decided to truly stay with her.
The uncle I guess he is still driving the taxi and ended up just being alone. Now, when Ji Nam's son was on the bike and fell in front of the uncle, when he looked at the number that was Ji Nam's wife. The uncle was thinking of a conversation they had when she said they had met 12 years ago, now when he looked at her son, was that meaning that could be his son?
I think they tied up everything, but I wish there would have been more fighting on EK's end because she started out so strong in the beginning. But all and all an interesting drama that kept us all on our toes....
Thanks @Dedra70. I need spoiler.I am watching Ep 36 without sub. Did they mention who took Dr Ning away? Why they…
@ miltoniablush it was Simone took him I believe. She is the only one who would have the power to do it. They were really vague as to saying who or why they did take him.
Lui Zheng did ask were they going to keep him being alive forever. Simone said that she believed that Ning Zhi’s family was returning to China to tell her.
I thought that that didn’t make sense to me that his family would do that particularly knowing their relationship and how she had help Ning Zhi’s dad when his wife was sick. Plus they knew how much she meant to him. That was wrong to me.
When EK was like please forgive me this one time…. Girl bye… I was like finally she realizing she ain’t…
@Diamond Princess right! Let it have been me, gurl, she wouldn’t have been no more good. BD is so putting her in check! Bout time she wised up. Girl bring that house down!!!
Giving my final assessment of this drama...the ending was lazy, and it did not do the rest of the drama justice. We deserved more than just having him relive all of his memories of her. Proving he no longer had amnesia. There should have been them having a wedding, going back to China and seeing his family, her family and his colleagues. Having them say each other's name and running in the field was really a letdown as to how good the other episodes were leading up to the ending. I wish it would have been stronger.
Episode 30 - They get engaged and Liu Zheng's father tells his wife that he is dying. Liu Zheng's father goes to see Ning Zhi about his cancer. He goes to various specialist, but his cancer is too advance. He tells Ning Zhi not to tell Liu Zheng that he is dying. We have Ding and Cheng Zhou break up because he doesn't feel that he is good enough for her.
Episode 31 - The pandemic hit. Ning Zhi is being very loving to Liu Zheng and even surprises her for her birthday with a steam bun from the cafeteria because no cake was available. Ning Zhi's son gets sick again because his mother didn't take him to checkups like she should have and then he fell. They have to operate on him but not sure if he will survive. (Get ready to cry - all of the family and friends get on camera to talk to his son)
Episode 32 - Ning Zhi's son pulls through. Liu Zheng's father dies. Ning Zhi and Liu Zheng head to Africa. Ning Zhi leaves to go to the international hospital. War outbreaks and Liu Zheng cannot reach him. Cheng Zhouyu has to step up to save a champion cyclist who suffers a head injury when a landslide happens on the course. Ding is less than supportive of him taking on the case.
Episode 33 - Cheng Zhouyu tells Ding if he can save the cyclist, he wants to get married if not, they can break up. Ning Zhi comes back safe. Liu Zheng finds out from Simone that Ning Zhi when in the US took her with him all afternoon to find a necklace for her. She is wondering what necklace as Ning Zhi drove off to deliver supplies. The cyclist dies and now Cheng Zhouyu says that he now regrets that he won't marry her but not that he attempted to try to save him, but she tells him that she will marry him instead. Cheng Zhouyu is now under investigation for the cyclist death. Liu Zheng has to operate on a son of a resistant fighter, which is a success, but they come into the hospital just as they are coming out of surgery. Guns drawn and Ning Zhi just comes, and he tells them to take him because the boy will need care. He is now gone, and Liu Zheng is worried.
Episode 34 - The government comes to the hospital and says they found a male corpse and it is the same height and body shape they believe it is Ning Zhi. They sent his DNA back to China only to find out Ning Zhi is still alive. Cheng Zhouyu is faced again with operating on the number 2 cyclist in the world. He is leery to take the case due to what the media will say if he takes the case. Ning Zhi stays with the resistant leader for months and saves his son but tells him he may relapse. He finally is let go and is reunited with Lui Zheng. Ning Zhi gives Lui Zheng the necklace he got in the US to her. The resistant's leader's son has a relapse as expected and wants Ning Zhi to come back. The government arrest Ning Zhi because he won't tell them where the resistant leader is.
Episode 35 - Ning Zhi is finally release after the Chinese embassy steps in and the resistant leader request a ceasefire. A grenade goes off when Ning Zhi goes to save everyone. Liu Zheng has to operated and he is in a coma. Liu Zheng gets a fever and sleeps for 3 days. When she wakes up to go see Ning Zhi he is missing along with Simone. They can't find him. Someone took him, an elderly man in the middle of the night. Liu Zheng heads back to China.
Episode 36 - Lui Zheng gets back to China and heads to the hospital, but no one knows where Ning Zhi is at. She is searching everywhere for him and even enlist Xue (the lawyer) to help her. Everyone is basically lying to her. Ding and Cheng Zhouyu get married. Xue is dating A Fei (she was the doctor that took care of him when he got stabbed) Lui Zheng relieves memories of her and Ning Zhi as life moves on. Lui Zheng decides to go back to Africa. She finds Ning Zhi, but he doesn't remember her because he suffers from amnesia. He was in a coma for so long and tried to get him to remember but he couldn't remember her and only remembers his mother and the hospital. She stays to get him to remember her and their relationship.
Well, well, well BD is in tearing the house down brick by brick! Get it girl. Bring EK down. Oh, the smackdown is too good. You cannot feel sorry for EK.
I am so glad that BD set it up this way because if she would have pulled her hand too soon, EK would have come up with more lies. Seriously, I'm your friend how can you do this to me? Girl bye! I can do this to you because you mess up my whole damn life. Granted BD did trust her too much, but EK decided to be her "personal gofer." No one told her to continue being her "b*tch!
Now, did I not call it that EK's ex-boyfriend still had more to do. Yep, last episode he breaks it down for CW. CW is just too slow for me. He couldn't read anything that EK was up too. Thinking with your other head I see.
But wait until the whole family is exposed and BD didn't even tell that to CW's family. This last episode is going to be too wild. BD is not even considering taking CW back but playing him too. She told CW that her daughter and him are both alike...slow. Damn. And then she even knew that EK was hiding in the closet. Wow! BD is on fire!
I wonder if EK's sister will get with Ji Nam or will he put his kids first?
How is EK getting out of this? There is no way. I'm sorry but I am laughing my ass off because she deserves this. She played too close to the fire, and it was time for her to get burned.
I cannot stand another one of her "pity-party" speeches either. She is not the only person in this world that has no money and struggles so stop using excuses for your bad behavior and judgement calls. The sad thing is that you pulled your whole family into it too.
Oh, there is just too much going on in the previews. They get back together, Liu Zheng and her brother find out about their father's cancer, oh, and my cutie pie Ning's son is back in the hospital, and they go back to Africa.
I feel a lot of tears with his son. That is the cutest little boy. I'm crying on the preview seeing him.
Yeah I'm feeling the same way, finding it a bit of a chore to watch,. I'm still watching hoping it get's better…
@Naija05 right? You just feel compelled to see it through because you are 20 episodes deep to give in now. URG! Praying we can see the light at the end of all this...
I think things are coming that will be more different than what we saw before. We got the Chong Zi bits out of…
Thank goodness..it is so tiring watching her struggle between whining his name and pouting. Just make them both go to the dark side and we got a story!
Oh no!!! I just started watching this, so I'll check out your comments! 😁 What else are you watching?
@Suzie Queue this drama did not meet up to my expectations. If that FL says "shifull" one more time I swear I'm going to scream! I'm currently watching the following: Crash Course in Romance (ends this week), Red Balloon (ends this week), Kokdu: Season of Deity, Our Blooming Youth, The Forbidden Flower, The Starry Love, Wenderella's Diary, The Truth of Immortality, Under the Microscope, Have a Crush on You...
I had such high expectations for this drama but who else is finding it a struggle to watch? The struggle is real! I mean listening to her talk, which I could go for days talking about but besides that, what happened with this drama? We only in the mid-20s and we have at least 20 more to go. What else will we have to contend with? Her finally going to the dark side? Him redeemer her? I mean honestly, I'm at a loss here. Can someone help me out?
Yes!!! At last, looking at previews for episodes 29 and 30. They finally get engaged in front of the whole hospital staff. But then sad news that her father has liver cancer which at the final stage.
I wonder what Xue (the lawyer) is going to say after he hears they are getting married. I mean he should have called it quits because he knew that she still has feelings for her ex-husband.
Are we all swooning or what? My heart can’t take it.
Can we please see her mother get some happiness too?
One episode left…..

These will be emotional episodes for sure...
