In terms of drama production from these fantasy xianxia novels, I think Tencent is the one that will dump tons of money and then not get much in return and then they repeat the process. Iqiyi used to do that too but now ever since their bankruptcy they are smarter now. Youku is the one who is trying its best to combine the cartoon/novel fans and the drama fans. They just started to experiment this year. If your question is whether this will continue, it will depend on how successful they become with their strategy because one thing this show teaches us is that Youku is very cost conscious and will save money whenever they can. This show's official ENG SUBs are still being released on youtube so Youku is no doubt collecting data to figure out how to best market this show.
How is this drama rated so low? It is much much better than another one that is airing currently with a stupid…
I think with the longest promise we got all the female fans going crazy over Xiao Zhan despite the stupid main girl lead there. While here we have a bunch female fans hating Angela Baby. I stick with this show cause I am tired of clueless main leads being deceived. I prefer this show where the main lead is the deceiver.

In the donghua and novel, Qin Chen set up the array to take on the entire team of the ghost clan by himself with his grandfather. All of the other helpers that you see in the final battle were beaten. When the array couldnt hold anymore his mother jumped in and beat the ghost clan leader by herself. The significance of that battle was that the current kingdom barely has the support of the weapon, pill and bloodline orgs. It always lacked an array user. Qin Chen's use of arrays was a huge surprise to the emperor who could no longer just treat him as another young talent.

All of the girls so far are going to be his wives/lovers. Lin Shan, xiao ya, Yu Qianxue, and the other princess.
His evil ex is actually the evil twin of the good ex, who was good. Qin Chen will hook up with the daughter of the evil ex and his other backstabbing friend.
I haven’t started watching yet; how is the plot and storyline overall?
The characters are written well, nice lovey dovey stuff with main characters. No weird backstabbing or evil parents stuff. The jealousy stuff isnt that bad. The ride is enjoyable.
