the other prequel takes place 200 years prior when there was no royal family and was just a bunch a martial artists trying to ascend to immortality.

The immortals from that island came to the mainland and killed a bunch people like they are nothing, left a manual on how to become immortal then left. The instruction was divided up by an evil group and given to different martial art sects who specialized in one technique in the manual only. They kept the instructions on how to merge all of these martial arts into one person in order to become immortal. The main character's teacher is from the evil sect who stole the manual and taught the method to combine them to the MC Su Bai Yi. But learning this stuff destroys a person's mind. At the end of the story he completes and modifies the martial art and waters down the evil parts, taught it to his student Li Chang Shen who became the 3 novel most powerful being who lived 200 years . He then taught Baili Dong Jun, Li Han yi and Si Kong Chang Feng in the prequel 20 years prior

In the novel The previous emperor was already tired of the martial artists and wanted to make a move on them. Langya lord was the originally the heir to the throne just like Xiao Se here. But he went against his dad to support the martial artists. In order to do that he also had to give up claim on the throne. Xiao Se's dad became the emperor but a hidden edict just like here by the previous emperor gave the throne to Langya Lord. In order to avoid a civil war backed up by both of their supporters, Langya Lord allowed himself be killed. The prequel describes the conflict between the Xiao family and the martial artists more. This is basically history repeating itself

The Xiao family keeps on killing and suppressing their best. Their family bloodline is basically done after this generation. They went from their founder who was near god level to the current generation who gets a heart attack.

And the one before that 君有云 that happened 200 years prior. Tragedy for both. In 少年白马醉春风 we already know that Lei mon sha (Lei Wu ji's dad) is dead, Xiao Se' Uncle is dead. Baili Dong Jun's wife is dead. In 君有云 the mc Su Baiyi ended up I think pretty messed up. He passes on his martial arts to the Li Chang Shen who became the strongest immortal, who became the teacher of Baili Dong Jun, Si Kong and Li Hanyi. But in the end Su Bai Yi is basically forgotten in all history

Wu Xin is mind controlled by the red prince to do his bidding. This is what happens if you lose your own mind control powers. Xiao Se uses his powers to fix him later just what he did to Moyi

Both the prequels are depressing. They all start with tragedy and then get more tragic. His dream sequence basically just gave the previous prequel ending away. This author's method of writing one prequel and then another backwards is not cool
