The term/the diagnosis is used to explain her inability to speak when she has no physical damage. It is a misdiagnosis due to incomplete information and blatant lying by herself and her mother. She has been pretending for so longer and is now truly a non- speaking person. The choice to speak lies with her and she may choose to never speak similar to people who speak multiple languages choosing to only speak one.
This show really packs a punch. All the build up and stress of not having episodes last week was relieved by Ep5 and now Ep6 will keep me sated till next week. I'm going to watch Ep6 atleast 3 more times to work through all my feels.
