So far so good, decent start. Bit slow in "progression" since the format of episodes is not the usual (since recent times) +1h episodes, but the older 40min. The acting is, what else did we expect, really well. The theme is more dark, so I am really excited to see more morale questioning happen as a main plot (instead of the fluffy engineers). Overall they should promote this more, but I guess with the actors and theme being already really good, they might have invested less in this to cover expenses as it should build up in the fandom on it's own. Go watch it now if you doubt it!
So what to say, you all need to watch this if you still are having doubts about it! Great acting, good expression of emotions, a light hearted plot about exploring the feelings you have and the world you live in. And just to clarify, the "bullying" is not as bad as people here tend to see it. The story is after all about the isolated bottom class student Hira and the popular upper class Kiyoi (like so many dramas have). Sidenote: Still not sure if Hira is portrayed as just having a stutter or being autistic (not that it matters really). -->Based on a more explored light novel, so if you liked the series, be sure to check out the (3) light volumes.
A movie largely only there for fanservice (from the idols/actors), so don't expect anything serious plot stuff to happen. I would only recommend watching it for those who are a fan of their respective idol/actor, or if you like the reverse harem thrope.
What to say, you are in for a weird and absurd comic journey into the sea ... I had not read/watched the manga and anime, so it was especially a shock to see it starting when you don't know what it is all about xD! Just hang on, you will laugh, you will think wtf, but all in all a funny movie to watch.
Happy plot, stereotypes get smashed into bits and we have some nice bromance. All in all a nice watch. For those interested, it was based on a manga (has also an anime) and follows the plot consistently. Go watch now
Overall a funny and happy series to see, which I enjoyed. For those wondering about the manga it is based upon, not all was included as 2 new volumes got recently published, most likely after filming started. It did follow for the most part the manga, only slight items were out of sensitivity altered or made more in touch with the story without altering too much. Be sure to read the manga (7 volumes and still not done), to see more funny plot develop.
Searching for this drama in japanese: everyone praise the camera work, director, actors and talked about small…
While people are entitled to have their own subjective opinion, it clearly is defunct from missing such a good and realistic story. Japanese dramas are very raw and brutal, but they do it with such care and eye for details that you gotta love it. The plot and script is great, making it also more mature. I guess most just want something fluffy or light, but I for one am glad they are taking these endeavors in projecting and funding these BL's, for they do it so well... Next year Thai BL's will also go on a more darker sublevel :p so we can expect lots of hate in the future as well xD...
It's based on a manga, but two points about that: someone had to choose which manga to base this on, and yet they…
:p true, or you can use the setting universe, but bring your own flow into it. I mean, they pay anyways to use the universe, so why not go overboard and make it better in your own judgement. This however seems like a waste of funds to make use of the actors in a better storyline.
If you like watching shows with a good plot and script, this is just not it. The actors aren't the problem, but the script is lacking and the flow is just not there. It feels like they experimented (light vs dark themes) on producing this, and as such took the risk that just did not pay off.
So far so good, The actors are doing really well, not that we expected differently with a good casting to start with, the flow of the story hopefully keeps up as well. The drama still needs to kick in, but episode 5 does give us all a sweet taste already, were most give it only at the ending, so I remain hopefull to see more episode 5 actions xD
I would rate the first half much higher, but near the end it gets a little boring with the repetitive storyflow. The story was interesting and more in line with the good dose of horror / suspense, but they could have packed it up with a bit fewer episodes. Overall still much enjoyed watching it, the actors delivered well.
When reading through the comments, some people are negative about the "bully"storyline. I would not take it all to heart, this is a good series to watch adapted from a novel. It does have a sequel novel as well, so this series will conclude most likely at the end of novel 1. Point is, it is kind of realistic brought, not fluffy duffy, good acting so far and a great storyline in total.
I kinda did like the setting, "Worm Valley", they could have reduced the less important talks in between to either give more background info about the tomb owner etc. Also, they could have used more action fight build up. It was rather quickly concluded
Good show to watch. Have to agree with lower parts here that the story does get boring storywise (conversations etc), but the acting and CGI are great. Overall hoped they would have brought more bad ass villains into the story or more folklore/legendary creatures to expand the storyline and make more action.
Hmm plot wise not the best story, actors did great tho, just the script felt off somehow. They usually give us much more depth and growth, which I found lacking overall. Not a realistic setting either, the actors deserved better somehow.
Short fluffy quick to watch series. The main characters are from the previous productions of the Korean BL shows last year. Rather short so superficial, but easy to watch because of the short episodes (+/-10 min).
Hmmm mixed feelings. Too much screentime for less interesting plots or situations, bad chemistry for Wu Xie and Zhang Qi Ling. Somehow more questions remain than being answered. Let us hope they reboot the series with a new cast and more structure. Or they could like you know just do it in chronological order with a returning main cast lolz. Anyways, this one is a must watch since it concludes a lot of the previous tombs/story.
This is exactly how you make a great live action. I just love how they portrayed each and every character. I couldn’t…
Actually, they used more scenes than the manga has. Volume 1 covers almost chronologically (few minor details they changed tho) the events being given, with actual repeating of the same lines from the manga :). Because they only cover volume 1, this makes it a 6 episodes mini-series. Still, they have more volumes to film out if they want, so we still can hope for more to come xD. I would recommend reading the manga as well if you want to find out more about the story and each character.
Sidenote: Still not sure if Hira is portrayed as just having a stutter or being autistic (not that it matters really).
-->Based on a more explored light novel, so if you liked the series, be sure to check out the (3) light volumes.
