Does the novel explain why Minister Du only has 1 family member? Wth happened to his extended family?
I think this is a creation of the drama. In the novel he has a wife and Du Xiuying isn't an only child. Madam Du's 2nd brother is married to Princess Shun'an so there is quite a bit of extended family.
Just reading the novel now and I love it! I hope more of her writing gets adapted to drama, especially if, like…
Indeed! Especially the healthy relationship between the leads could serve as an example for future dramas. No keeping secrets from her for her own protection, no breaking up with him to save his career, no misunderstandings that would be solved in a 5 min conversation, no breakup for ridiculous reasons. Even without all these there would still be enough real problems left to test the couple's relationship. It just seems that most screen-writers like to copy-paste and are too lazy/uncreative to come up with anything decent.
It's the first time I read people complaining about fast pace of a drama at the very beginning! Usually, this…
People are just not used to the fact that they have to concentrate on what they're watching and can't nip off into the kitchen to make tea while some side characters are on screen. Even without having read the novel and relying on subtitles, I still find it relatively easy to follow.
Watched the first 4 episodes and while the story seems interesting, the silliness is rather off-putting. It's not funny, just silly. The spoilers in the ending credits seem to suggest a somewhat more serious/darker story, so I may watch a few more episodes to see if it improves. So far, the 8.1 rating seems to be more of a pretty-boy credit than an evaluation of the drama.
I didnt read the novel but I understand everything so far, Ive only read few spoilers which I honestly already…
I think the main difference between this and LBFAD is that for LBFAD the expectations were really low. Many people still remembered WHD from Miss the Dragon, so when in LBFAD his acting actually turned out to be quite decent (I think he has a talent for this kind of role) the whole thing exploded and people were blown away. For TTEOTM, however, expectations were already sky-high before it even aired, so it is that much harder to blow people away.
This drama deserve 9.8 rating...Best xianxia drama I have watched .The costumes , cgi , also Makeup is so amazing..Bai…
Plus, so far not a single minute that feels like a filler with pointless side-characters. For me this was the biggest negative point in 3L3W - all the bits that they made up that weren't in the book start to feel really out of place when re-watching it.
When TTJ absorbed the power from the nightmare demon his facial expression was that of a junkie shooting up. I could almost feel the power surge myself...🤩🤩🤩
It atleast deserves 9, but, what to expect, its Cent where an overhyped actor who don't even use his own voice…
Not only in C-ent, Hollywood is no different. The "correct" political views are far more important than talent. There is a reason why so many brilliant actors are mainly doing independent, small movies while the blockbusters a populated by moderately talented people with the right lobby.
You took the words right out of my mouth!I get more and more the impression that there are some fan girlies going…
Yeah, it's a bit strange that none of this happened at the dramas that I dropped recently (full of pretty boys, not much else...). I think the only way to curb this would be if MDL actually de-activated the option to give an overall rating while a drama is still airing. It seems kind of unfair to me to give a bad rating after watching just a few episodes (if those people watched anything at all...) When you look at the episodes that have aired so far individually, they all have excellent rating because this most likely comes from people who are actually watching the drama. If this goes on, I guess MDL rating will become totally meaningless.
there is really something about Deng Wei esp when he was an immortal in the earlier episodes. His costume fits…
Every time I see him, for a second I'm thinking I'm back watching Chong Zi... he looks exactly the same... not much going on in that pretty face of his.
What's up with the weather in ep. 3? One minute we see it snowing and the next the night watchman tells people to watch their candles because of the summer heat? Was there a time skip or did they mess up the subs?

Violence, torture, mutilation - yeah, go ahead, no problem
An exposed nipple: oh no no no, can't have that!
