No offense taken π We all have different tastes and perceptions. I used to read a lot of detective novels, so for me these were still relatively speedy investigations...
They said the antidote is a flower that grows in Shubei, but doesn't grow anymore. So how was Physician Qin able…
They said the plant cannot be found anymore, but that doesn't mean that there are no dried samples of it left somewhere in a Shubei pharmacy. They sent a message to HZ's teacher, so maybe he sent something over.
Hahaha... till the last minute, they still throw surprises! Great show I enjoyed it very much. That plot twist…
Those fight scenes were better than those in some so-called wuxia dramas! It was nice to see such professional work in what was supposed to be a romance/detective drama.
LOL nobody saw that plot twist coming. To think the person wearing the three-scars mask IS Mu Yan, and CP and…
Yeah, I had the same initial reaction about her ingesting too much Qi vital stone in one go, but I think HZ transformed the stone into something different (hence the round shape like a pill) instead of feeding her the ground up "raw" stone. Let's just say it was the power of alchemy...
I have watched other historical dramas with investigation and I felt the cases on this one dragged for too many…
What you describe, is actually the reality in most investigations. It's never a straight line. Sometimes investigators follow clues that lead nowhere and sometimes coincidence is their best assistant.
Ikr. I'm quite worried about editing as well, esp since it's from iQiyi.
Even with top-class source material, some screen-writers still manage to bungle the whole thing by inserting lousy stereotypes, dumbing down all the female characters, adding love triangles and incoherent character changes. Some if these geniuses should be prohibited from ever touching an original novel again. WoH is definitely the exception where the novel and the drama, although different, are on the same level of quality. Sadly, the same cannot be said of Unchained Love, The Blue Whisper or Chong Zi, to name but a few recent victims of screen-writer "creativity".
That's a good point. It'll be a twist if WJ turns out to be the mastermind instead. I like him but his character…
It's exactly because he appears so overly good and helpless that I have long suspected him. Whenever some prince claims "I have no interest in the throne, I only want to .... (insert hobby here)" all my alarm bells go off. It's like a flash-back to The Rise of Phoenixes πππ Ning Yi has ruined my forever!
It is CP all along. As hard as we ship him and Chilan, it reveals that she loves Mu Yan but never has a chance…
I had the same thought when I saw him give her that dagger. Thid would be some tragic irony! I am, however, still hoping against reason, that the chief-villain will be someone else...
I hope this is a better revenge drama than The Long Ballad. The revenge there was absolute dud and nonexistent.
Maybe that was the point. Sometimes there are things that become more important than a long held revenge. For people to let go of a long-held obsession can be some nice character development.
Just the subtitles are really, really bad (and sometimes missing altogether).
I used to read a lot of detective novels, so for me these were still relatively speedy investigations...
I hope you can take some time to relax now.
It was quite fun to watch...
