I like the cast especially Jeremy tsui and YCY and the plot is interesting. But having seen 6 ep now, I can say…
For me the pacing of the first few episodes was ok... I'd rather have them make up some time in the first few episode and then give us a decent ending. Very often they waste a lot of time in the beginning and then rush the ending (LLTG being a prime example...) And yes, that opening theme really is quite unbearable!
There is an English translation (sort of...) on NovelUpdates, but it is incredibly bad. The translator doesn't seem to know the difference between "he" and "she" and permanently switches btw present and past tense which makes the story hard to follow. because half of the time you don't know who does what and when. To boot, there are some totally nonsensical words mixed in that seem to come from another language. I just read a few chapters and it gave me a headache! So proceed at your own risk...
He really needs to back off. I get that they are painting him as frivolous, fun-loving and loyal (that he knows…
Within half a day of meeting her he already asked her to marry him twice (even trying to force it through his daddy). That's not frivolous or fun-loving. That's desperately needy and delusional, even by xianxia standards Usually everyone complains about the standard delusional SFL, but this guy is even worse!
OMG, this SML (Zhuo Hao) is soooooo irritating!!!! I absolutely hate those over-confident stalker-type guys. I hope he will tone it down in the coming episodes.
Sameeeeee...Jeremy is charming, too. Gao Wei Guang nailed his multiple roles SO well in Eternal Love. I was smitten…
Ah thanks... I thought it was a new drama that I didn't know about 😅 If you want to see what I mean about the comedy, just watch the first 3 mins of episode 7 (the small snippet before the intro). Coincidentally, his manager/friend in this scene is now an immortal in Chong Zi.
Well they are teacher and student, so he needs to look older than her, unlike other dramas where you can't even…
I think at this stage of the story there aren't supposed to be any "CP vibes" otherwise that would be weird. I'm quite sure the actors will be able to turn on those vibes when appropriate...

What's BTS? Yes, I like Vengo, too. He was very good in Swords of Legends. Personally, I didn't find the amnesia bit overly lengthy, it had to go on for a while to make certain developments believable and they came up with quite a lot of funny situations.

Yeah, you can't really go by the reviews/rating for his dramas. He isn't one of those idol-type pretty boys with an army of fan-girls to vote up his dramas, but he is a pretty good actor who seems to chose his roles carefully. Also, he seems to have a "must-take-his-shirt-off" clause in all his contracts 😂😂😂 I wonder under which pretext it will happen in this one...

Have you seen him in Be My Princess? It's also a drama with a kind of multiple roles (in that the method actor has amnesia and thinks he's the Grand Tutor from the historical he was in). I thought he was absolutely brilliant and his impersonation of the historical character was very tongue-in-cheek, it made me laugh so much!
Wah I cant stop thinking of Donghua from eternal love while watching the ML Yinfan. They have similar eyes. Mesmerizing
Yes, same here! I don't think they look very similar, but the the facial expression, eye movements and some of the mannerisms are very similar. Given that (in my opinion) DongHua is the only role were an actor managed to pull off the indifferent and aloof ML without coming across as a lifeless piece of wood it is not astonishing that other actors took note. As the actor has to keep a stiff face most of the time, the acting has to be done through the eyes and other minute movements.
Some thoughts after watching the first three episodes. overall it is quite enjoyable so far. The pacing is nice without any lengthy bits. I like the FL, she is young and uneducated, but she has the courage to stand up to authority and wants to protect the people she cares about. White definitely isn't Jeremy Tsui's colour... I wish those immortals dared dressing a bit more colourful (something they could learn from the demons... 😈). Fortunately, so far the CGI is not as tacky as I feared after seeing the trailer, although the sword-flighing scene was a bit borderline. It's great to see the Scorpion King again... and it seems to be a complex role! I really cannot stand the opening theme (even though I usually love Lui YuNing's singing), it sounds so dissonant, like the vocal track and the instruments are for two different songs. The ending theme is great - I was hoping for a song sung by Li Qi and he did not disappoint!
I've never watched Journey of Flower but finished Chong Zi novel. If they made it as the novel, it really great.…
Hehehe, I vividly remember the last time you recommended a novel 😂 I'm still reading that one (and trying to work on a translation with someone who can actually understand it...)
Episode 14:57 Hey, look it's the bridge where the Emperor hacked a man to death in the face from Episode 13 of…
Hahaha, so happy to see that I'm not the only one who keeps recognising this very same cliff (every xianxia/historical needs a cliff for the hero/heroine to fall off and then not be dead...) and the same clearing in the bamboo forest. Oh, and that artificial cave with the platform seems to be re-used quite frequently as well. I have the suspicion some of these natural sites are very close to the film studio 😂

Unfortunately, the English translation of Chong Zi on NovelUpdates is incredibly bad. Personal pronouns and tenses are completely mixed up which makes it very hard to read. It is literally no different from the MTL version.

They are all at it!
