The drama was launched on 25th January and allowing for the estimated number of days required for filming (see ShadowBloom’s comment) and the New Year’s holidays, I would expect them to wrap up in early June. This is just my guesswork, so don’t take it for a fact.

I don’t think this has anything to do with chauvinism, but all with realism. People actually fighting in battles don’t look pretty, they sweat, their hair gets messy and their outfit disheveled. Any makeup they’re wearing will very likely be smudged or running and get mixed with the blood on their faces. The excessive need of these idols to look perfect in every shot rather than concentrate on acting the role is quite ridiculous.
