mdl is such a great resource in so many ways
..once you are on that roll and once you you know 'that' drama exists..the internet can become so much more resourceful at finding more works of the ppl one likes..ahem..lemme correct that..the new talent(/pretty boy or..girl) finding. ..just how much had I searched the internet to watch Kimura Takuya San's all (most)works, the old ones.., Kame's and Yamapi's, Oguri Shun's were a lil easier to find
..found so many artists..and all the many stories they told.
this habit sure pays off..<3

and oh..the list making..it is such helpful habit that mdl helped me make, now I am more or less addicted to it.

this movie is A+++++~
sniff sniff. so good. excellent movie. even as you wonder about this and that of things..this story can make one feel elated and totally inspired

Ji Chang Wook's character was just way too complex in that. yet so adorable, still.

indeed a very good question, and a very potent thought! sad/scary as it might be, I wonder too if the 'definition of love' has changed in the recent times, or is it just that our expectations are different.

suggestions for a start, from recent dramas that come to mind :
Ashes of Love and The Untamed.--happy endings, these were really addictive, you almost won't realize the time because of it, well..I didn't! believe it or not I have re-watched these plenty and I still would
(..not exactly historical but based on wuxia and fairy tale/legend elements with plenty of spiritually harnessed magic thrown in ;) , wonderfully made Costume dramas )
Ashi Girl : this was just the cutest sweetest watcher's ride ever, adorable. its a Jdorama so no worries about too many episodes.

also, Princess Wei young, and The Queen for seven days.(sad but satisfying endings)

but then, there are so many historical Kdramas, Faith, the great doctor- stands out the most to me in older ones(..I think you probably have watched them so.)
The King's Woman(even if the ending is disappointing, the chemistry was great)
..Bpoop Phaeh Saniwaat(this was very very lengthy but a really sweet, well made Historical Thai drama

well written. old fashioned love, or love that stands through all the difficulties, love that had challenges that made it stronger and clearer,.. even if the ending was uncertain. the beloved person and the lover's passion and feelings meant more. .
these stories of kings and queens and princess and warriors, scholars and fairies and Gods..they have the pull of the fairy tale, even as you never can be assured of the ending, ...beautifully written article. refreshing!

perfect platter of sweet, nice, mischief, fun, mystery, turmoil, thrill, bondings, bindings and adventure.
the two leads are to die for and will make you hear every little thing that wasn't said outright,

and most of the side characters are interesting , ah! all the boys are such sweet fluffy cuties. even the ones with their villainous roles. dangerous but pulling heart strings, all of them.
this was a breeze to watch, yet so much fun!❤️❤️
this was done right and perfect..well.. ;)

the acting by the main leads was so on point, every little expression, nuance and act, every dialogue or silent gesture..enrapturing, sweet and perfect, yet deep, and just excellent!

these melodies and scores are setting in my mind and heart..
all the adventures were enthralling. the mysteries were enticing, the CGI was gorgeous, the picturisations relaxing and suiting

I feel fun, thrilled and relaxed and oh so sweetened after watching this! enjoyed this so much!
I am so taken over both by Wei Wu Xian's endless sweet smiles and Lan Wang Ji's silent strict perfect demeanor, the flute & the zither, their solo and combined melodies,
and both their vulnerable, clear, deep and incorruptible hearts..
so sweet and cute, & fun, my poor little heart
perhaps we could have another season, maybe with more Lan Wang Ji's pov, and more new adventures.. would be fun
pretty sure gonna be rewatching this.

episode 12 ..really effected me, this ep was amazing..

ditto to every thing you wrote. this drama is ...just soo Cleverly and Smartly written. it just becomes refreshing. there are so many things that are right about this drama. this one doesn't need to keep me on a cliffhanger or get me anxious about what will happen(not that I am complaining for those that do at all!). I can just watch it in a happy go lucky fashion and yet be back for more.

but I admit no matter how intriguing Song Ga Kyong is, or how badass Bae Ta Mi seems to be at times and no matter how going for the kill Ta Mi is, Cha Hyeon in her straightforward emotional, do before think cute mess, manner is still my fav among the females. she brings the balance..shows the black to white among all the necessary and very realistic greys.

second fav character is Park Morgan, I feel he is so much more maturer in his attitude than Tammy, in his own way, that no matter how cute he gets he still is more hot! Bae ta mi still irritates me somehow at times to be honest..
specially relationship wise
not talking about the marriage issue
I feel like he often has to mother her, take her tantrums and be patient, while she holds some strong values, he is the one more balanced all around as an individual.

and Scarlett and Seol Ji Hwan( can we just mention here how totally innocent he is!!aww- perfect for Cha Yeon, oddly between all these complex characters, he is my third fav) are the sweetest, am rooting for them so hard.

and Song Ga Kyung and Oh Jin Woo ..there is the strongest dependability between these two, having already taken all the bitter pills of life, that makes you root for them despite all the damages and hits their relationship has taken, it's like their building is collapsing but its foundations are strangely getting stronger.

I love all power plays done by women on women here, even the bitc_hy mother in law,.. that it's all about capable intelligent women in power. the story is smart.the romancing are refreshing. the sismance is amazing, one of The best I have seen so far. I want more sismances like this!!

let's see if they can keep it refreshing till the end.

Somewhat worried about Saya now, wondering if he will be left alone
the best, most interesting..most enticing character yet
what a beautiful mix of chilling besides sweetness cleverness and innocence.
dangerous in the most intriguing scaring yet endearing way
can we give him some genuine real steadfast friends rather than a hopeless love crush
..this guy really needs a happy ending, as do Eunseom Tanya Neanthals wahans and the others..even Tagon Taelha

Kanmarou, Neanderthals and Saya..the best of the best yet, in this drama..refreshing.
even if its hard to beat Tagon's complexity..Saya ups the field by leaps

Eunseom .. hoping for some real character development for him now..
what an intriguing mix of good and bad, both these brothers..they are a study of contradictions, in their very selves, at its best, even as they stand as each other's very mirrors in the same realm, two sides of a coin making it whole.
Tanya's dance finally became so satisfying and not just beautiful..
finding out that I am actually rooting for Tagon and Taelha's romance ..lolz
it was really nice seeing One again
Mubarak seems to be revealing layers
I missed seeing Kanmarou in this part, want to see him more next season. won't mind a bit of Ragaz too in back stories
oh and more Neanthals please
and loads of Saya, of-course!
