Did you notice they even used english words in hindi or maybe urdu whatever to close it maybe "Yaar ye kon he…
THIS.....exactly this...-the use of English words such as one would do in extremely current modern version of spoken Hindi -..have been trying so hard..but this is the only thing that I simply haven't been able to ignore or reason with..no matter what fantasy logic I tried to apply, this was a small but noticeable and grave error by The Arthdal team, particularly in a partially Ancient Historical Myth Based Fantasy drama, for such a small detail greatly forced the enjoyment quotient down for me, I wish they would take note of the little details in an otherwise such ambitious and beautifully aimed & crafted project, so we could enjoy it all the more freely..
Besides...I don't know what to address them as ..if Indus valley merchants -I am not sure but they wouldn't be dressed as they are or would they(?), they are even dressed more as Arab merchants but I can't be sure about this..anyway the nitpicking gives me stress..lol there are just somethings we have to put away with when watching dramas aimed at mass entertainment I suppose as opposed to documentaries.
Details matter.. especially when doing something of this scale Nevermind, For now, I have put it (i.e. the use of English words in ancient Hindi) away as -whatever fantasy version of foreign language spoken by merchants of Southern Asia/Arabia region was there was for fantasy Arthdal Union. Done!! LOL
i've been saying this in different areas of the comments but the writers and directors didn't organize the story…
here's why I started thinking along those lines( after someone on a different forum started wondering on which main lead will end up with which other main lead..I tried to find out who they were..and hence what they would do) https://m.eonline.com/ap/news/1047332/people-are-not-happy-with-the-arthdal-chronicles-premiere-episode & https://www.ancient.eu/Dangun/ ( seriously though if Eunseom and Tanya don't end up together amma gonna be sad.. sniff') but after I read these I am more inclined to believe they will end up with each other, coz the other two will end up with each other.. that's my personal deduction anywayz.. Coz Dangun=Tagon??!!?? anywayz we will see coz in the words of Dr. Oh Yeon Joo of W Two world's.."I am someone who would like you -the leads-to have a happy ending" I mean atleast for Eunseom & Tanya-they are cueeeeee...
The story is not exactly based on history. Use of Hindi or Urdu is the result of writers’ imagination (probably…
true.. oh it's apparently ..maybe based on story of The myth of Dangun a legend, which may or may not have been a real leader who existed. anyway it's fun watching..
i've been saying this in different areas of the comments but the writers and directors didn't organize the story…
I do see your point ..however, this is something new they are trying, whether it's for network purposes or to tell this story as three different subparts..like you do in a novel book story..I just want to give them a fair chance and watch along at the moment. perhaps having too high expectations can spoil the fun of simply enjoying the fun of taking the story as it comes..don't get me wrong I do agree with your points about the repitition of political scenarios and the placement of things.. a bit more of knowing their world wouldn't hurt..we will get to do that eventually hopefully..
I have watched The legend a few years back, although I had skipped a but due to time shortage at that time, no the set up is different completely so that you might not even recognise it, but I was trying to say that ..yeah ..whether they are based on the same original mythology. ..it's so very different from The legend kdrama though I don't know if it can be said they are taking inspiration..hmm
Didn't tagon ask the girl servant to give a letter to him at the tower. Isn't he in the tower....
yes..but it's weird he is not revealed yet, so.......he will certainly be played a big card with in the story ..if and when he finally appears hence the discussion I suppose..he is a mystery key point at the moment.
i've been saying this in different areas of the comments but the writers and directors didn't organize the story…
hmm probably .... I have actually read your views in the other comments, you do have a point, if it's just circulates on politics then it was becoming a bit repetitive of other historic politically driven dramas; in ep 4, but ..perhaps the politics can't be done away with in a story about leaders and heroes.. The politics was probably shown in Lew of understanding Tagon's character..
anyway let's see how they proceed from here on in the next few episodes, I am hoping for some exciting adventures, hopefully with lots more Eunseom screen time, and Tanya too. nevertheless, Tagon is also an interesting character, Taealha who is just as complex probably fits him well. I would definitely like a little more focus to the main characters. let's see..anyway it's pre-production -having said that I do hope they had confidence with what they were going with.
on a different note..I found out something today ..with what some comments elsewhere I am starting to wonder if this story has some slight parallels with 'The Legend' Korean drama 2007 but with a completely different take. as I read somewhere today that this story is basically based on the Ancient ancestral Korean Gods and 'Dangun'.. This is getting interesting, if based in the said Myth, the characters are all mixed up, and a clear definition with Identities from the mythology is not obvious in these characters...atleast not yet, maybe intentionally so.. -they have been all dispersed and embedded with some quality or the other from the myth.
Nope. He's Yangcha. He's been around even before Eunsom was born.
his face being hidden is a mystery still, is he mixed species too or why? as well as who and where exactly is Eunsom's brother.. he would be an adult too ..is he really still kept in the tower.. what's Tagon's motivation and strategy for that..I guess that's coming up in the next week's..
Anyone else felt like they rushed Eun Seom's development on episode 4? We didn't see him the whole episode and…
..now that you mention it..that's true..because of his lesser appearance .. something is kinda missing..like the complexity of his character being built.. I suppose they are trying to portray that he is a simple man, who is not yet polluted by the burden of having unnecessary complex thoughts and thus clearly understands what is right to wrong, takes actions easily, and later on, will understand what needs to be done, and so- he is the hero..as interesting as the other characters are, especially Tagon, the focus needs to shift to him too a little..so we get to see how this simpleton Hero becomes the exemplary leader they followed.. so in simple words ..HaHa ..as you said... I honestly kinda missed seeing more of Song Joong ki be Araman
I have to say this: I was initially surprised ..with the use of Hindi -that is!--and as I tried to figure out whether to be pleased about it or criticisive of the use of it, here's what I thought..
they are trying to imply that the Kabuli walas(merchants) from far off lands have joined the hands of the Union and are part of it,..--that the union already comprises of many such tribes united, be-latedly, as many more new and maybe other advanced tribes came into the original union, which is shown speaking in Korean. however I am forced to nitpick that that won't be possible; even if we were to take it as an understanding that the ancient language that the ancient advanced civilization was using- cannot be practically portrayed and thus must be taken as the Korean in which they are conversing-for our(I.e., audience's) benefit-(which I did apply as an understanding from the very first episode..I mean ..off-course then!- I would have done the same if it was English or whatever language the drama was being made in) But Hindi is a relatively new language that came into being with a mixture of modified Sanskrit, Urdu and several other native and modified languages, ....so the only way to accept that- the use of Hindi: is similarly to our benefit -as a rendition of whatever the language the people from such far off regions they were native of! on a completely different note..as I was mentioning to my bff the other day,..I can't help thinking of the first book:The Immortals of Meluha of the Shiva Trilogy, as I watch this, ..wonder why Bollywood or anyone else never thought of making a movie or something- adaptation of it, that was good novel story book, would be similar to this; Ancient Civilizations, Deities turned to Legends, adaptation of the Mythologies, organised society structures and architectural marvels, centralised planned cities, and far off tribes coming to become part of them. yeah a bit demystifying and a bit of 'Science' so no magic or stuff..but would be interesting to watch.
I did enjoy Episode 3 more than I did episode 4 though; overall that is. Tan ya was literally the savior this episode...for me as well, I mean someone finally faced upto them and put the Wrath of God in them.. Kim Ji Won played the part of acting to be in a trance while actually being in a trance well! although the rest was predictable since long........
she just found it a bit too easily though, if I am to nitpick,.... but point proven. this was a good surprise, by a chance I read the summary and only on a whim I clicked play, Glad that I did, ..so far..
yes very. click the play button I would say, I am loving ALL the female characters so far, the plot is VERY interesting right now. and the noona romance chemistry has some real character to it IMHO, up until now atleast, i.e; ep1, I mean.. it griped my attention just right- its been some time I saw that..
Loved this! The bromance or love (albeit) platonic /deepest of friendships -was my happy place, undeniable chemistry portrayed Saito & Kubota as Himura & Alice. Tokie sama was so much fun & so cool-the three together were so cute to watch. the student was interesting as well. Can't wait for more!!
someone explain to me that mad theory at the starting to me please or just give me subtitles for that-I bet it's insanely funny &/or cool.. this is another level of crazy nerd good weird so it's obvious coming from Japan and manga. hahaha kawaiiii
second episode left me gaping at the screen-so Beautiful it had all the right elements, in the right dose, laughter fun silliness pain sweetness spiritual friendship bravery freedom promises dreams meaning love & so much beauty I just can't wait for more.. my dish went cold as I didn't remember to eat. haha Watch it People!
