I was not gonna watch this drama and I still don’t think I’ll watch it while this airs. the teasers look good but she’s definitely too young to be playing FL in a romance drama. I might wait until it’s done airing and give it a try after seeing comments and reactions.
I don’t mind the age gap but it’s the minor and adult pair up. I would’ve seen it if she was 19 or something but she was still 17 while filming this so I don’t like it. About her acting I can’t say much as I’ve only seen her in supporting roles and I wouldn’t say it’s extraordinary compared to other supporting actors. She didn’t stand out to me at all. But nevertheless I have seen Neo Hou’s acting and I’m definitely excited for this.
I think I’ll be fine as long as there’s no kiss or intimate scenes. I think when you’re 17 and the guy you’re with is 28, you wouldn’t want to be kissing or getting intimate, the heck I don’t even think you should be doing that. i don’t have a problem with them hugging in the drama but that’s it. unless they bring out fake kiss scenes where they don’t kiss but the camera angles make you look like you are. And if you’re on instagram you’d know what goes on there, people start bringing up grooming, pedo and other things if they see a couple like this. I don’t see any comments there saying you go girl or get your older adult man. So I know you all won’t be okay with it too unless you’re one of insta minority. you can’t give excuses saying that this is a drama so it’s different. for example me smoking weed at 16 for filming and saying it’s fine just because I smoked it for a drama scene.
Not tryna be a police here or something but thought I’d share my views. I know the legal age for sexual consent is 14 in China but I’m not Chinese so for me I’d consider it to be 18 unless they’re the same age. I’m not tryna throw shade on anyone and I know there’s a lot of negative talk going on but I’m not one of them. Like I said before I’m really excited for this drama but will wait until it’s done airing.

During the promotion of the drama they were all announced as guest actors not supporting actors.
I thought that too but mdl hasn’t done that for the other dramas I’ve seen, they’ve placed all the popular actors who have guest appearances in guest section. it was just this drama I found weird.
wow mdl seriously needs to update their cast list. They had Annabel Yao right after Wang Xing Yue so I spent a whole 14 episodes to figure out who she was. I thought I’d missed a character or something. All of that waiting for her to only be in 4 episodes?! And Dai Lu Wa’s character is also not seen much and was only shown for briefly 5 secs each scene. I know mdl isn’t accurate and the cast and characters weren’t disclosed properly prior to drama release but all the other dramas I’ve come across do not have a messed up mdl cast list. it’s my first time experiencing this with mdl.
The cut content is just so obvious and pretty badly edited at times. Multiple times they have brought up consort…
I did not know they cut episodess. Explains why some of the plot jumps from place to place. The characters need to stop disappearing and reappearing randomly. Do you know why they cut soo much? As long as they were under 40 eps it should’ve been fine.
This couple is never going to let us move on from them. My heart can’t take all the post drama interactions they’ve been having. This Guerlain shoot is killing me!!😍🫶🏼 I think this is a sign for someone to recast them together for a new drama.
I just saw the trailer and I can’t wait to start this drama! There was soo much angst and tension in the trailer, I’m dying to see how the romance plays out. I usually refrain from watching heavy stuff and like watching something light with comedy but I have a feeling this drama is not going to disappoint me!🫶🏼

And the American news has pretty much taken over my feed even though I don’t live there but it’s all pretty much filled with trump this and Epstein that. I’ve just noticed that all the cases we’ve watched involve women, which really highlights how little respect women had in imperial China. It’s heartbreaking and disturbing to see how they were treated. And honestly, I’m not sure how much has changed as many of these patterns still exist today. It’s made me realise that I complain a lot, but what I experience is nothing compared to women who are denied basic dignity and respect.😢
That was not a mistake. They were obviously being rude and taking things out of context. And once they realised no one is going to take their side they just deleted it with no apology. they think nobody will remember it if it’s deleted but we remember so they have not won this war lol. MDL just sucks with a lot of things. this is not instagram where social life is public so even if mdl left behind the account of the deleted comment, it’s not like I can leave hate comments or DMs. so they should definitely stop people from hiding behind deleted comments.

the emperor has fathered probably 10-15 princes. so one princes death is not worth mourning for if there’s 10 more. And he got demoted and stripped off his title so he’s basically a commoner. no one is going to mourn a criminal not even in ancient china. if the emperor himself has shaded you then no one will associate with him and talk or even look at him. then that would mean you are going against emperor. it’s like today’s world where people are careful talking about certain things as it can create controversies and judgments. and the reason for his death was already explored in the drama. He died due to proper reasons which was properly investigated, so even if it’s murder no one cares because it was his own fault. his death was not due to power struggles
because people were attempting to k*ll themselves thinking they will transmigrate. Just dumb people not able to differentiate reality with fiction and doing dumb things. So China had a censorship law to prevent this. but it’s still a stupid law.
