That would have worked if the killer was just one and if there wasn't the plot twist with Yu Yeon's real killer. The plot needed build up and apart from that, the series included many moments which reinforced the characters' dynamics and personalities. In the second half, Dong Sik and Joo Won's relationship flourished even more and that wouldn't have been possible had the drama been 10-12 episodes long.
For some viewers, some moments might seem as fillers but most of the time, they serve another purpose. I totally understand that this is not everyone's cup of tea but we cannot always equate slow pacing with bad writing.

If other kdramas with flat characters, way worse writing and direction and mediocre acting can get high ratings, then this one deserves a higher rating too. I can see it reaching an 8 once it'll finish and I'll be content. People used to say that the rating for The Dream Life of Mr Kim was too low while it was airing, too.
Actor popularity alone cannot carry a rubbish script, look at Twelve and When The Stars Gossip. Both had big names attached to them but the dramas were so bad to the point people gave up early on. A Bona Fide Killer has reached its second half and it goes steady. Obviously Gong Hyo Jin's involvement is a big factor for its success but the audience stayed for the story too.
Just watched the first episode today, it's pretty cute, the direction reminds me of an anime but it works just fine, so far. The manga is very short I think so I'm curious to see if they'll expand the story.
Young Do was kinda...overprotective in the last episode? Like, obviously he worries about Bo Na's safety and her feelings after she crossed ways with her husband but their conversation in the car seemed kinda sus to me...It's as if he has a crush on her or something (although I doubt it, he will most likely be paired with Se Ah).
Maybe unpopular opinion, but so far, I enjoy this more compared to other similar kdramas, particularly Vigilante and Taxi Driver (although the first one is definitely much inferior compared to Taxi Driver).
The team treats Bo Na the way Argentinian players treated Messi during the World Cup, lol. They literally worship the ground she walks on and they hate disappointing her or putting her in danger. She's their idol and their best member. I adore this hectic group and if it will be revealed that there's an impostor among them, I'll be so sad.
