Chen Hui, as the first villain in "So Circle 101," is indeed a very different character if you exclude Bian Luohuan.
So, what kind of person is Chen Hui?
Chen Hui was born in 1974 and is 23 years old when he appears in the story. At this time, he runs a roller skating rink. His father is a policeman at the local police station, and his mother runs a pharmacy. For the time, their family's financial situation was considered quite good. His relationship with his father is like that of many father-son relationships in Chinese families—they love each other but are not good at expressing it. In comparison, he is closer to his grandfather, whom he has a special bond with.
He has a lover he has known since childhood, two years younger than him, and this lover's family has a connection with his own.
Before marrying his mother, his father had a love interest, but that person was unfortunately murdered, and the case became an unsolved mystery. One day, his father went to visit the other man's parents and found an abandoned baby girl on the way. Perhaps to comfort the elderly couple grieving the loss of their daughter, he entrusted the baby to their care. When the girl was 17, her adoptive parents died in a car accident, and the girl was diagnosed with uremia. Chen Hui's father then took her in. That year, Chen Hui was 19. To earn money for the girl's treatment, he went alone to a fictional Hong Kong to work. Because he needed a large sum of money, he succumbed to temptation and embarked on a path of no return.
As Xu Kai mentioned in an interview, Chen Hui had a good business sense. After returning from the fictional Hong Kong, he opened a roller skating rink and an internet cafe in his hometown. If he hadn't been repeatedly threatened, he might have been able to give himself and his lover a relatively happy ending. However, there are no "what ifs."
The narrative of Fang Yuan uses several intersecting timelines, a structure common in suspense dramas. Overall, there aren't many cases, but new and old cases are connected. Chen Hui gradually succumbs to temptation as he battles wits with even worse villains. He seems to have choices, but in reality, the first wrong step leaves him with no options; it's too late to mend his ways. His maneuvering with the villains and evading his father's suspicions is like playing with fire, fraught with peril. Faced with the scrutiny and suspicion of his loved ones, he feigns madness at times, narrowly escapes defeat, and yearns for his father's love while simultaneously feeling guilty. Ultimately, perhaps he succumbs to the proverb "old ginger is spicier," or perhaps he succumbs to his own lingering attachment to family. A villain who is clever but not ruthless is destined for a bad end.
The portrayal of a character navigating the gray area is vastly different from that of a positive character. Therefore, for me, the most anticipated aspect of this drama is Xu Kai's interpretation of the villain's state of mind—the tension, the constant life-or-death struggles—evident in the wrap-up video. I believe that in this role, we will see many more facets of Xu Kai as an actor.
Chen Hui is, of course, a tragic figure in another sense. One wrong step led to another, and although his life was short, it was vibrant and fulfilling.
Even if he waits until 1.) he re-signs or 2.) signs with someone else, he's got plenty of projects that will be…
in short, yu zheng is xu kai's boss. XK's contract with him will expire (most likely) this year and yu zheng does not want that to happen. Yu zheng has been using xu kai to gain and exchange resources for his other artists. Therefore, XK has always been at a disadvantage under him. XK is trying to leave the company and to prevent that yu zheng had been spreading bullshit all other the internet to give xk a bad reputation. This will hinder his opportunities in the industry. But XK is strong and his fans are also strong. all these false rumors did not affect him. He will be fine. he just has to stay strong.
Why do I have a feeling that we might see another CFY vs XK drama airing together again? The way ACOL is going…
omgg i knew that xu kai signed with huanyu in august 2016. But i just googled which date exactly and it said that it was the 22nd August 2016. Thats kinda creepy. Basically exactly 9 years in the company, YZ pulled off that shit
