They are trying to suck him dry by giving using him as a bargain chip, negative press to lower his commercial value (so other companies would think twice before signing xk as an artists plus less new brand deals), using marketing to pressure him into accepting roles (Yi OuChun black marketing in march and TDYWL in May), supressing articles about contract expiration, etc and a million more. No way in hell they will give him a good script- they prioratize tanking his career. btw- Zhao Liying left hesong (if you are talking about her). Hesong does not have any noticably good actresses. the only main lead material actress XK is yet to costar with is Xu Ruohan.

Yu Zheng definitely does not like Xu Kai. Xu kai is someone who values everything is life- like family, happiness, free time, friends etc as evidented by bringing in Zhang nan, keeping his family private, having his friends from modelling days around etc. He definitely is career focused- but not the type to trade off his private life for the sake of clout- which is something the current industry requires if u want to make it. He's got his own thoughts and ideas with what he wants. YZ probably knew from the beginning that XK is the type to spread his wings (doing things that he wants to do), and not the type to be kept under control (doing what YZ tells him to do). Xu Kai probably respects YZ for giving him an opportunity in the industry, but YZ has done bad things to XK that goes beyond anything good he has done to XK
As in he’s an asshole. In cahoots with Yu Zheng to give Xu Kai an inhumane shooting schedule , doesn’t pay extras their wages even months after filming was wrapped up, and many more issues.
