It depends on the dynasty it's set in and whether or not it is a real kingdom or a fictionalized one. So shows…
thank you so much .this was an interesting read. Especially the parts about Xenophobia and racism when it comes to showing different regions of the country. I forgot how vast China is. I just feel like when Im watching cdramas I'm loosing some context because of language barrier and subs and visual aspect isn't helping. Thank god at least the plot is easy to follow
Ive started watching C dramas recently so Im new to this but when you watch kdramas Normally you can understand characters place in the hierarchy by the way they're styled/dressed but here everyone's similar. Like the maids and fl and the princess are so similar. even the king looks like other male characters. C drama watchers, is it only this show or other historical dramas are the same? Anyways Im loving the story and the main couple are so hot omg.
Of course he is against Ha na being her daughter. He is trying to revenge the chairwoman for killing his parent…
He deeply cares about both Hana and Se yeong. But still his revenge is his top most priority. what I got from reading your first comment was that Ji seok has some type of double standard in regards to Se yeong and Hana but I don't see it that way. He is characterization is pretty consistent actually. Life just keeps throwing him curveballs. It doesn't matter how much he wants to spare both woman from pain he is gonna fail and he knows it. He is having a hard time accepting it that's how I see it at least. I don't know if I explained my point clearly

so se yeong is the enemy. He believes that she is an enemy. He is out here trying to destroy se yeong family and their company. You don't do that to someone you don't consider an enemy do you?
If Ji Seok is so against Ha Na being his enemy's daughter, yet he does not seemed to be so adverse wanting a relationship…
Of course he is against Ha na being her daughter. He is trying to revenge the chairwoman for killing his parent did you forget? i see nothing contradictory in his actions. he puts the revenge plan above everything else including Ha na and Se yeong. He is just desperate cuz he was trying his best to at least not hurt Ha na Now that he knows Hana is the chairwoman daughter there is nothing he can do cuz Ha na will get hurt regardless.
I dont see Santa grandpa get much flack as his wife but I hate him even more. The audacity to shift the blame on his wife when HE was the one loosing their kid and also trying to act like an angel helping others to avenge the chairwoman. He is as manipulative and selfish as his wife
wait a minute... Im in middle of ep1 and Im confused, Is the prince that Young sil is taking care of the kings child? Was he married before? so why Young sil isnt the queen then?
just watched ep 16 and Im so sad Doona is dead. I wish they kept her alive. Like she was an irresponsible mom and bailed out on her son but came back later to tell them what Se yeong has done. Maby cooperate with Hanna to do it. Now the revenge plot is gonna be way more complicated.
