here is my Theory ( might be wrong tho) : 1. she feels like a burden. She felt like she is not doing anything meaningful in her life thats why she ran away to military those years back ( when she saw Jing shi first time)
2. In earlier episodes she was talking to her brother telling him how she feels pressured because she is a princess and now that she is growing up she is starting to understand that means she has some responsibilities in regards to her country and the royal family. Now I think she knew her marriage will have a political nature no matter with whom it was going to be. The king not explicitly objecting to the marriage proposal gave her hope. She thinks she might not be able to fight in battles but she can bring peace. ( thats partly a reason for her love towards him)
3. She though if Jing shi gets stuck in Susha, he will hate her. That's a reasonable conclusion actually
She is naive for sure. Trying to play hero when she doesnt know the depth of these issues

Im in middle of princess royal. I had to take a break tho because the story is progressing in a way that I dont enjoy. I expected more romance and SML is annoying me. I might pick it up later again. I also started Loves ambition which its currently airing.
I have become a huge Ryan cheng fan recently so Im waiting for his next 2 dramas to watch ( Moli , How are you? ) they probably will come out next year tho. I've seen him in LOFG and Shadow love till now
