Episode 20 really confused me, but I really hope that the sister relationship don’t fall apart
Episode 21 will clarify it; it's like how, when you start the star stone illusion, that might or might not confuse you.
I know seeing two Yan An as Yuan Xi Zai and Yuan Wu Huo probably confused a lot of people. When I clarify, they aren't twins. Yuan Xi Zai / Yuan Wu Huo did help some people... but then again, it also doesn't help that the butterfly demon were twins and that birth Li Jie and the Butterfly demon (Yuan Wu Huo version) from consuming old Yuan Wu Huo.
Just the above statement already seems convoluted haha
Story wise, she seems to function as a vehicle to showcase Ji Ling’s charm so I don’t expect development which…
When you say things like "purpose," it makes it seem like a reductive take on LWY as a character. ( I know you didn't say only purpose, so I could be reading too much into it)
I don't know if you are doing it on purpose, but I just want to point that out.
But from what you wrote, it's almost like you are saying JL is the main character. And the LWY's purpose is to make him shine.
Again, I'm not saying you are doing it on purpose. But my question then would be, is there anything wrong with that? If it tells a compelling story.
OK, so what is LWY up to now? Is she really being controlled by Jiu Ying???
Cause technically when you think about it JL/LS memories as puppet JL he didn't experiences them . But he still fall in love with LWY after getting those memories from puppet JL
Story wise, she seems to function as a vehicle to showcase Ji Ling’s charm so I don’t expect development which…
I agree with most of what you say.
But "she seems to function as a vehicle to showcase Ji Ling’s charm". The reverse is also true then. Ji Ling's charm/innocent serves as the vehicle for the LWY 9-tailed fox's seductive nature.
And they're so wrong there's so much development about her character. This drama is all about details and some…
I don’t have an issue with any character. I think they’re written the way they are for a reason, and it fits the overall narrative.
Focusing on a single character and saying there’s no development feels a bit short-sighted. It ignores the role that character plays in the bigger picture.
Because at the end of the day, what matters more is what the story is trying to convey to us.

Like, I don't think I convince anyone who responds to me to change their mind.
However, it doesn't mean those who don't interact ( write something) aren't reading these conversations.
And might not already form a strong opinion on the topic
There could be people complaining because they don't understand certain thing.
Which I dont disagree btw
As for those who are upset, I'm guessing her fan or the character's fan?

Cause again JL's charm existed before LWY.
In flashback with Chi Wen, his voice and personality were basically JL
I know some people would even argue that JL Fox form the actual Fox was also a showcase of his charm and innocence
LWY parallel alot of JL.
JL memory in the past with LWY has always been what he got from puppet JL.
he did not experiences and feel any of them. But he still end up falling for LWY.
Even if her past memories aren't truly hers, the experiences and feelings that she spent with WWY in the present are still real.
I don't have a problem with people feeling a certain way.
I know I most likely wont convince you other wise. But for those who might be reading the comment section it could sway them one way or another.

I think it foolish to focus on one character and say there no development as that remove the character role in the overall story.
