Title Study Group Spoiler
Pure entertainment! It was a great ride from start to finish! What a great cast! Even loved the appearance of Lim Ji Sub/Won from Eighth Sense. I get a kick out of seeing actors who can play the bad guy role as well as the good guy . This goes on my rewatch list. I have been 2 for 2 today. First, the bl When It Rains It Pours and now Study Group. Take care.

Title When It Rains, It Pours Spoiler
I just saw the final episode and I am in bl heaven. I got what I came for and I am leaving with a smile on my face and joy in my heart. From my point of view this was the perfect ending….no over the top theatrics, no spiteful acts of revenge….just honest,
straight to the point closure to the past and hello to the future. So much symbolism in the rain…for me it means cleansing and rejuvenation, refreshing and replenishing. I really dont have to see more. Sei and Hagi have already weathered the first storm and I feel they have both learned and grown from the past. If there is a special episode ok but for me this was a perfect 10. On another note I do like the segment with Sei and Fuji. During a difficult time they were there for each other. There was genuine affection. I know some people cannot forgive Fuji. I cant say I forgive him but I do understand him. I am glad Sei was able hopefully ease his feelings of guilt. I think when someone close to us dies we can be tormented by guilt and all the what ifs. Really, Sei and
Hagiwara handled their respective breakups with class and style. During both they both seemed resolute. There was no
hesitancy. They knew what they truly felt. They just needed the right time and place to make all the pieces fit! Wow! I love this series. It is right up there with Let Go the Curse of Taekwondo.

I really am loving this. I actually think it is underrated. I love the subtlety and the physical nuances. It reminds me so much of the ebbs and tides of growing up. There is an air of innocence and dare I say purity( I dont really hear that word anymore) that I find refreshing. Who are we? What are we? Who do we like? Will that person like me back? Years ago I found an old high school notebook stored away. In between my notes I had scribbled this one name. There were hearts next to the name. It made me smile and sigh. Oh the sweet pains of growing up. That is how this series makes me feel. Not quite as good as Jazz for Two but still a nice walk down memory lane for me.

Title Impression of Youth Spoiler
I absolutely love this series. That first love is so special. I also like how the second couple is slowly progressing. I remember when my best friend passed away from cancer. She was still young. Her husband was so heartbroken. But he found love again. I was one of the first people he told. I was happy for him. Just like in the series before my friend passed away she told him she wanted him to find love again. Now those are the good things I have to say. Now for the bad and the ugly. Who in the hell stays by a man’s side for eight years and does not get the hint….gay or not the man is not into you. When will writers stop writing in these dizzy dense female characters. She pounced on the man from the beginning. Why would a female have to protect a guy from bullies! It didnt even seem that serious but that is all she could come up with. Then she suggests they go abroad but when he says no she changes her mind. She asks him to date and he does not answer. What more did he have to do? How loud does he have to shout I am not into you! Please writers….let’s do better. If I am being too harsh people please let me know but eight years!!!!

that's part of the problem with BL being predominantly run and viewed by a female audience. they don't realize…
lol…We Americans put on a good act. I taught middle school and high school. There was a reason we did room checks on overnight field trips. There is nothing in this series that is not realistically portrayed. The high school student is a senior. The “teacher” is a college student. If anything can be construed as not realistic it is the friend girl “bestie”. Six years and the guy hasn’t made a move on you…. he is either gay or just not into you. Her outrage is over the top and the one thing that irritates me about some bls. When all else fails and you need to fill up space throw in the female foil.

Thank you for this insightful analysis. I have often wondered what could cause such a hold on a person. The sentence…
LolI wish I could say my uncle was the only one I have come across in my life. That is probably what helped me identify and not get involved with these types. The odd thing is even the ones I knew personally would cower and retreat when confronted by a person with a strong personality like myself.

It really is a very comprehensive series that addresses various themes and dynamics related to human behavior…
Thank you for this insightful analysis. I have often wondered what could cause such a hold on a person. The sentence “stifle a person’s will” hit the nail on the head. I never thought of my uncle as a narcissist but now I know he was one. I just thought he hated women although he appeared kind to my mother and myself. Like Fuji he could appear sincere and concerned but I see that was his way of getting and maintaining control. The women I saw him with seemed to be mesmerized by him. Like Sei their will had been completely stifled. Hopefully Sei will gather the will and the power to break off the relationship with Fuji.

I smell a open ending. They need time after everything that happened.
I hate open endings. Realistically I would agree . Too bad this is only seven episodes. Even eight would have provided space for some personal healing and a time jump where they reconcile. Still in my fantasy world I want Sei to dump Kaz and run as fast as he can back to Hagi. They can heal each other hearts while going at it like rabbits.

Title Sangmin Dinneaw Spoiler
Very disappointed! It started out cute and promising but turned into a total mess. I am not a prude but some scenes were just cringey and actually took away from the final reunion of Sangmin and Dinneaw. I dont usually drop my ratings but I had to in this case. Whoever is managing Petch needs to be replaced. He is too talented to be wasted on projects like this. I feel the same about the other young actors. In a way I feel they were all being used and exploited.

Same here .... I'm also an diehard Blackpink stan so when I knew that Rosé was in relationship....I wasn't shocked…
You are right but I also see a greater problem that should concern us. Somewhere along the line in the name of making more money the entertainment companies have helped create these monsters. By feeding into their fantasy world they have virtually endorsed this type of neurotic behavior. Maybe they felt a need to cater to these delusional fans but the audience for bls and idols is growing and is becoming more diverse. When they finally see the value in protecting the artist right to live his/her life as they see fit a change will occur. It will be a win win for all .

I agree. It really has me questioning what is it that makes a person remain in a relationship that is so cold and suffocating.

Title When It Rains, It Pours Spoiler
I just rewatched the first six episodes and I have to admit Japanese bls are in a
category all by themselves. They know how to bring out the very essence of a character. You feel how
desperately lonely Sei is and how conflicted he is. We watch Hagi and his desire for physical love and affection is heart wrenching. We see Kaori who wears a mask that can no longer hide her own inner truth and of course the narcissistic and controlling
Fugai. The contrast between he and Hagi was done in such a
truly masterful way. Hagi is warm and reassuring. Fugai is cold and
condescending. If this were a comedy I would say Fugai and Kaori would be the perfect match for one another. Hoping the finale brings our two love starved leads together. When they are together both seem to radiate warmth.

Oh dear. I just finished the last 7 chapters of the translated story. Apologies if I said the story is happy ending.…
Thank you. I have been going back and forth on this one. I dont feel ready at this moment to deal with a sad ending especially if it includes suicide. I will wait until it is over and read how they handle the ending. Again, thank you.

Wow! What a wonderful and really great series! I loved it from start to finish. I really appreciate how well the single parent scenario was handled. I kept wondering if at some point Byeol’s mother would suddenly appear as a temporary foil like in so many dramas. But no…we have a happy, bright child who has been nurtured and raised by a loving single parent. No rushed marriage proposals for any of our three couples. And how do you handle losing out to a vindictive opponent? You recognize your worth and walk out with your head held high. No groveling, no angry retorts. How
refreshing. This definitely
goes on my rewatch list.
