It's not sad per say. It has you on the edge of your seat, can stir emotions with epic writing, directing and…
You are right. I have started watching and I am enjoying it. I love Perth and even if it is a guest role I never pass up a chance to watch him. Some of my other favorites have guest roles too.
As much as I love Tay and New I have to pass on this one. Comments indicate this is a tearjerker and I dont need anything remotely sad right now. I will put this on my wait list and see how it ends. Thanks for the heads up!
Another addition to my rewatch list. I enjoy storylines that depict personal growth. As an introvert surrounded by a family of extroverts I found Diew’s character relatable and heartwarming. Overall it was a feelgood experience. God and Diew complimented each other well. Enjoyed the mls and the supporting cast. I am one of the few people who could care less about that turtle but I can appreciate the symbolism and I wish it longevity.
I haven't started this, but i just saw that the main actors are 28 and 16 years old??????
To each its own but this is a non issue for me. They are actors. There was nothing that i considered questionable. I am sure the younger actor had the consent of his parents. I am equally sure that there was plenty of supervision on the set. I have watched all four adaptations. They are each different. The raunchiest one was the first one. It had a terribly abrupt ending due to censorship standards. I did not like the ending of Stay With Me at all so despite it being well written and a quality production I have no interest in rewatching. The Only One was equally entertaining and a good production but also had a lackluster ending. This one kept me interested enough to see it through to the end. I actually love the cast, especially the main couple. I loved the way the issue of their being in a same sex relationship was handled. Their feelings were explicitly stated. No guessing or implied inuendos. I also loved the ending so for me it was a win win and it goes on my rewatch list. Apparently this is one where either you like it or you dont. I say give it a try.
Actually if no one had told me I never would have noticed the age difference between the leads….no problem for me. I thought they were cute together. It was a fun roller coaster ride for me. Nobody dies. No one lying in a hospital bed in a comma. Their love for each other has been declared openly with no hesitation. I have watched the other three adaptations and I prefer this ending the most. I will only watch Season 2 if they keep the same mls. I got my happy ending. That’s a rewatch criteria for me.
This is the best thriller I have seen in a long time. This is why I dont do crazy people. I get one hint you may be even a little bit crazy I am out! The maid should have packed her bags a long time ago. It reminds me of a student I had years ago. It was no secret that he was bad news but he came to class, did his work and kept to himself. However one inquisitive classmate started prying and asking questions. He ignored her at first. He even politely asked if he could move seats. She still persisted. He quietly turned to her and without stuttering said If I answer your questions I will have to kill you. Others including myself warned her to leave him alone. Some people never learn. A few days later I returned from being away a few days. She was in the hospital unconscious and he was in jail. Just one example of why I dont do crazy and also why I follow my own instincts. If it walks like a duck and quacks like a duck it is a duck. This series is just too damn good!
I have figured out why I keep coming back to this series. Lol…I actually enjoy watching the mls and the side couple or potential side couple. So cute! This reminds me of some of the current bl stars and their first bls. They have only gotten better and so have their scripts. I look forward to seeing each of these young actors in future projects. The storyline was obviously watered down from the other adaptations. Just one more episode. I have come this far. My only hope at this point is that neither of our guys dies. The most I can hope for is one ends up on a plane back to America.
Now this is what I call an A plus production. Yes it is a bl but it ranks right up with any of the best well written, well directed, well produced action series. The acting is on point. From start to finish it has had my attention. The side couples are an added treat.
I'm gonna give this a try. honestly I wish to see Earth in different more mature roles soon... even Fluke managed…
I understand. I have always been a big fan of Earth. I also feel he has the talent to handle more mature roles. Until then I am just happy to see him in another series. The last one I can think of was My Only 12% in which I thought he was his usual awesome self.
Finally….I have missed Earth….great start…it had me at the very first scene! Love the cast….Pond is always a treat! Thursdays are going to be so much fun!
Really enjoyed ep 11 and how honestly both were eventually able to acknowledge their pain and their true expectations. Love that God and Diew each have that friend they can confide in . The way their friends are so protective was fun .
I just stumbled upon this gem. I was immediately hooked. I have often what happens to the souls of the dead. This adds another layer to the puzzle and it is done in such a compassionate and thoughtful manner. The acting is outstanding. You are caught up in the intrigue and before you know it you are hoping the bodies are recovered and their souls released. You hope both the living and the dead will finally get the closure they deserve. Hopefully I will get to see Season 2 before the series is removed from Netflix permanently.
yes the ending was beautiful made but it leave you empty you know they did that thing that they do in most drama…
Lol actually that sentence makes me smile and feel good. If there was no rely I might feel a bit sad but the yes is reassuing to me…to me it means all is not over…no one is in a coma, no one has been shipped abroad, they are still in the same school but just in different classrooms so I am good.
I know I am in the minority here but I actually loved this ending. Some of you may have read my previous comments and know how reluctant I was to watch the last two episodes. I hate sad endings and open endings. But I decided to watch the last two episodes and I am so glad I did. For me this was not a sad ending but one of hope and actually a major turn in Tian and Sheng’s relationship. Without saying a word they know their relationship has reached a new level. Watching each one grapple with these new feelings for each other has been such a profound and beautiful experience. There is so much poetic symbolism in this last episode …..the plants, water, the string bracelet, the way Tian is always attentive to Sheng’s needs, how Sheng knows intuitively what Tian is thinking/feeling. So beautifully written. The ending words and glass of water….Tian will wait for Sheng …..only Sheng will occupy his seat/his heart…and Sheng will come back. Wow….this is the essence of true love for me. This ending is so much better than the ones in Addicted and Stay With Me. I was angry and upset at how they ended. This one is more in line with the endings of I Told Sunset About You and Young Royals. I am not mad or sad. I am happy for the two of them. They are seventeen and these feelings represent new birth and new beginnings. That is also reflected in the way the two male teachers have come full circle in finally acknowledging their true feelings for one another. The absence of the female teacher is significant. It has never been about her. It has always been about each of them and their reluctance to verbalize their true feelings. It is clearly a statement about the way societal norms and feelings about same sex relationships still restrains and constrains individuals from acting on what they feel. As much as we would like to think that society has changed for many countries same sex relationships are still looked upon with disapproval and disdain. Even in my own country there are still fears that the clock will be reset and the freedom that is enjoyed now will be taken away. I applaud the entire cast and the writers and everyone involved on a really awesome journey. Hopefully, there will be an official announcement of Season 2 and the retention of the same cast, especially Liu Dong Qin and Benjamin Tsang. Until then, this definitely goes on my rewatch list. Take care..
