This is actual a work of art that will probably not sit well with bl followers who are most accustomed to the superficial and fantasy portrayals of the gay life. Dont get me wrong. I love Tale of A Thousand Stars and Century of Love. Twilight and Love In the Air are at the top of my rewatch list. But this is in a category all of its own. It is dark but manages to give us glimmers of hope. To me this falls more in the LGTBQ category than in the bl genre which may account for the low ratings. It is hard for most of us to even imagine people living in a world like this but child and sex exploitation is real. They have done an awesome job in capturing the despair and desperation of the characters.
Loving episode 5. It just makes me feel like smiling at their awkward interaction with each other and their obvious attraction to one another. This is the more sweet and light hearted adaptation. I am having fun watching it! Tiger and Off are also so cute!
War and Vin are back and I am all in for the twists and turns coming next. I love bls that are venturing into storylines that are more gritty and provide more action . I missed War and Vin and I am happy to see them in a project with a more mature storyline. I personally think they are two of the most talented and skilled actors out there. This first episode was awesome. I give it a ten. The supporting cast includes some very talented actors. Love love the grandmother. Looking forward to next week. First, Kidnap and now Jack and Joker. I am in bl heaven.
The series isn’t even over and the cast just won the Mint Award 2024 for “Breakthrough Cast of the Year! Well deserved! Hopefully this is just the beginning!
Personally they could have ended it with the scene in the hospital with Tyme holding Great’s hand and apologizing. I probably wont look at the last episode. The only ending that would work for me is if they were both actually dead and they walk into the light holding hands. The only other scenario that would make me smile is if all of what we have seen has taken place in four minutes and Great actually survives with Tyme at his bedside holding his hand. The joke would be on us . Of course neither scenario is going to occur so I will happily rely on all the spoilers for final closure.
I have to get this out first…. Hell Ohm is hot…,the older he gets the better he looks. Now about the series…great start… talented cast, action, entertaining storyline, Leng and Ohm chemistry works for me( Leng reminds me of PP Krit who I personally adore), great cinematography, mature theme. Looks like a winner! I’m in!
Watching episode 7 reminded me of an old saying…”you kill my cat, I’ll kill your dog!” One thing I know for sure is Tonkla is a certified psychopath… lol. This is more of a thriller than a typical bl romance and I am loving it! I have been comparing this to Manner of Death but this is actually more suspenseful than Manner of Death. All of the actors have been phenomenal. The characters are so different from the ones they played in Kinnporsche and Moonlight Chicken that I dont even detect any connection at all. Now to me that is pure acting ability at its best!
Kudos to Bible and Jes for standing up to the haters! Enough is enough! Hopefully people got the message….when you come for one get ready because the other one is coming for you with both barrels loaded! I have always been team Bible but I have added Jes to my roster! Leave my guys the hell alone!!!!
If you are looking for a bl which takes you to the seedy dark sordid corners of the world this is it. If you are looking for the bubbly , feel good bl where life is basically good despite your being gay then perhaps the Monster Next Door is more to your liking. Regarding this series it is closer to the more mature gay genre which includes Light and Brothers in Law. The mls are intriguing and I am already hoping they can both get out of this horrible abyss that they are in. The thing is it seems eerily realistic .
Please someone help me make sense of this storyline. You obviously have two talented actors with amazing chemistry and the only storyline you can come up with is cheating, cheating and more cheating!!!! Dark and toxic, tired victim trope, unimaginative and becoming boring. These actors deserve better.
Maya is an insecure person because of her disability. She never got friends who made her feel like she doesn't…
Well put…that is what is usually so good about Japanese bls. They dig deep below the surface of the character. I still dont like Maya but I understand her lack of self worth.
Typical Japanese bl but so well written and full of subtle nuances. Without any physical contact the obvious love they have for each other is brilliantly portrayed. I have gotten used to Japanese bls and even though I always hope for more physical content the quality and just the way the storyline is orchestrated makes me a true fan. Hopefully next week I will get my happy ending.
should i watch unintetional love story to watch this ? cause i want to bypass the series
You dont have to but it will let you see the motivation behind the making of the movie. I have watched Unintentional Love at least twice already. It is one of my favorites and the main reason I am looking forward to this one.
I am on episode 13 and I am loving it! The ml is awesome. The cast is outstanding. So glad the backdrop is the courtroom and more focus is devoted to how our actions are influenced by both internal and external factors. So far for me the most troubling character is the mother. Unfortunately I have known mothers like this who favor one child over another. I myself have two sons. In my case it is the youngest who has been anointed as my golden child. I am quick to point out that he is no angel and actually it is his older brother who has the biggest heart despite his attempts to hide it. Hopefully by the end the mother will acknowledge her wrongdoings. It will take me awhile to finish this as two episodes a day is my limit. Also, I generally cannot suffer through more than 20 episodes but this is so entertaining and good on so many different levels I am all in until the end.
While I am enjoying the series I am really struggling with the mother and daughter. How the mother allowed her daughter to take on both the emotional and financial burden of the family is beyond me. The daughter’s attachment to her mother and hatred for her father seems over the too. Maybe it has to do with cultural differences. Is this the norm in Asian culture? I feel sorry for the daughter. She is almost thirty and seems to have missed out on being young and having fun. The brother seems to be the most normal. The mother does seem to admit her compliance. The executive’s son’s situation is more relatable to me. Still I am enjoying watching and I am in it until the end.
I wouldn't be that hard on her. She confessed and he accepted. Why did he do that ? Because he was rejected before…
I agree he could have handled it differently but that is how life goes. It can be messy. She knew from the beginning he was not into her. I just believe in accepting accountability and owning your part in the mess. Actually she should not see even want to see them again. No matter what the dynamics of the relationship has changed. Nothing will ever be the same. I know from personal experience. You can try but each person has been impacted in ways that you might not ever be able to resolve. Better to leave now and take time to heal so when you do cross paths again you can at least be cordial and keep it moving. I think when she could not reach either one she already knew they were together. She needed a reality check and she got it! Been there done that too!
I really have no sympathy for MinJi. She knew all along DaeJeong did not love her in a romantic way and she knew he had a thing for Choi. I have a hard time dealing with people who are so clingy and attached to the idea of a friendship that they cant let go. I also hate it when people like to play the victim and make others feel guilty. Life happens. Yes being rejected is painful. There is no gentle way to say I dont like you like that. I have been on both sides of this scenario and I prefer the way he handled it….to the point with no sorry excuses. Hopefully she will move on but she sounds like the vindictive type so at this point I think I will wait until the end to decide if the torture of watching the last four episodes is worth it. The mls are so so good together I look forward to seeing them again in future works.
