It's just a phrase referring to popular or successful actresses born in 1995 or later. I was confused too when I first started hearing these phrases, haha.
Where has Leo been! I haven’t seen him in a costume drama in long time :(
For the past two years, he has been taking a break from dramas and, instead, he's been filming movies for the cinema. He filmed "Decent Things", "Donji Island"(being released in August), and a sci-fi film called "The Decisive Moment". He wants to do serious acting for the big screen in various genres and to be more than just an idol actor. There is rumor, however, that he'll do at least one drama this year. As in the discussions below, we're all just waiting for a confirmation of the drama he'll be picking up.
Okay, this is what I heard:"Sword of Coming," also known as "The One," wasn’t announced during the Tencent Video…
Sorry, but I'm trying to understand what you mean by saying that they fear they will not be able to lock Wu Lei time for a long time. What does that mean? And it sounds like there's a lot of chaos going on right now in the production team.
Starting from the beginning...so, Changge's uncle(Li Shimin) and her father(Li Jiancheng) do not like each other.…
No, he does not. The thing about this drama is that it's not really the typical story about revenge. The desire for revenge is what sets Changge off on her journey, but it's really about learning to love one's people and sacrificing personal feelings for the greater good of one's country. Like, I don't think Li Shimin is supposed to be completely innocent or completely evil. He didn't kill her mother, but he did kill the rest of her family and his actions are indeed something of a personal betrayal that traumatized Changge and made her wary of trusting people. He was like a father to her, and his actions basically destroyed her life. She lost her loved ones, became an exile on the run(since Li Shimin had people who wanted her dead), and lost her home due to his coup. It showcases Changge's struggles with her emotions between her personal desire for revenge and helping her people which, in several instances, also meant that she had to help Li Shimin and those who slaughtered her family/destroyed her life. Taking revenge on Li Shimin, though, meant harming her own people and her country...so that's the dilemma for Changge.
Starting from the beginning...so, Changge's uncle(Li Shimin) and her father(Li Jiancheng) do not like each other.…
Let's see. There's 49 episodes, and there were two spots where the past between Changge's parents and her uncle were brought up. I think somewhere around EP40 and then closer to the end...maybe around Ep46 or 47?
to people who finished this drama, can you spill the tea for the storyline? imma know what was happened to yongning…
Starting from the beginning...so, Changge's uncle(Li Shimin) and her father(Li Jiancheng) do not like each other. They don't get along politically, and they have a complicated family relationship because of Changge's mother. Their story is that her mother is actually the love of Li Shimin's life. He went to war at some point and found/rescued her mother, bringing her to live at the palace. However, when he was called away to war again, his brother/Changge's father(Li Jiancheng) got drunk and raped her. She became pregnant with Changge, and so, Li Jiancheng married her. It's because Changge's uncle loves her mother that he cares for Changge as if she were his own daughter. That's their complicated past history, which, Changge knows nothing about. Changge's father, who was the Crown Prince in line for emperor, felt that his own brother was betraying him because they could not get along politically, therefore, he was attempting to hatch a plan to kill Li Shimin. Changge's mother, when she was listening by the door and found out about the plan, wrote a secret letter to Li Shimin to tell him about her husband's plans. After finding out, Li Shimin initiated a coup and killed off Changge's father and the rest of Changge's family. Changge's mother ended up committing suicide because while she helped Li Shimin, she also felt that she had betrayed her husband. She said that although he was not in love with her, he'd been kind to her during all their years of marriage, and so she couldn't live with the guilt. So, to answer your questions, by EP6, Changge's father is dead(as is the rest of her family). And although Li Shimin did kill pretty much all those in her family, he did not actually kill her mother. Much of this doesn't actually get revealed until towards the end of the drama.
She has a support role in Wu leis new SF movie as his girlfriend waiting on earth for him to come back
Wait, can I ask for the source of this news? I just want to clarify because I'm a Wu Lei fan, and if you're talking about his sci fi film "The Decisive Moment", then I haven't heard about her playing that role. I would love for them to reunite in an actual drama, but if it's true about her role in his movie, that would be cute too!
He is an A lister for many years now. One of the youngest A list actors in china. He is massively popular in china…
Well, he does those things to balance out life, but he's def also filming. He has been doing theatrical films for the past two years because he's interested in being a serious actor and working on big budget films with all kinds of serious subjects. He doesn't want to be just one of the idol stars who will only be popular when still young with their good looks.
I saw a rumor that he is not going to 6.23 Tencent, if that's true I am worried about the drama confirmation :(
Awww. Well, whatever happens will happen. He said earlier this year(either in Jan or Feb) that he's thinking he'll be working on a drama and a film for this year, correct? If it's not this project, then I hope it'll be another one. I'll support whichever projects he chooses. Did the rumor mention why he suddenly isn't going? I mean, it's already on his schedule, right? And if the rumors are true, does that mean that it's possible he was going to be on a project but, for some reason, has changed his mind?
like changge went to an entire new place, got appointed in the military, enters war, ashile tribe takeover, governor…
Truth is, Leyan's character isn't that important to the plot at all, the main reason being that she's a made-up character only for the drama version. This drama was based on the Changge Xing manhua by Xia Da, and in that original story, Leyan's character didn't exist. She's truly more like a support character, not meant to be compared/contrasted to the FL character and all her actions/achievements.
Thank you for sharing. And that June 23: Tencent Video Conference...hmmm....
Yes, I remember that you did...which makes it practically certain that he indeed did agree to work on this project. I mean, what are the chances that the June 23 tencent video conference is on his schedule, the same day that the drama is set to be announced? But, yeah, just waiting for them to make it official. Also, if it's Liu Hao Cun, I would be happy to see LeiLei with her.
It's kind of either your cup of tea, or it isn't. Some people really liked it and some just hated it(you either understood it and were a little mind-blown, or you didn't see the point at all). This was a drama that was more like a student project from these actors and actresses at Beijing Film Academy, without too much budget behind them. The story is really unique...but the script is slow, and the way the story is told will just keep you guessing forever. I would say that it requires a lot of patience to watch, but I enjoyed the relationships and conflicts between the characters and their two countries. I also liked the OST and some of the cinematography. I did find Wu Lei and Song Zuer super cute though, so I'm hoping for them to reunite in the future for another project where they'll play a more mature CP.
We have several characters who like someone who happens to like someone else...but there's no major love triangle, or annoying characters inserting themselves into relationships. And, yes, the ending is a positive one.
the whole plot is pretty good. the leads have good story together but the second couple may steal some spotlight…
In terms of personal growth, Changge changed the most, and her growth had the most impact on the world around her. Leyan had some nice growth too, but her growth was much less grand, just more on a personal level. She went from being shy, timid, and naive to knowing what she wants in life(true love) and being able to stand up for herself. Hao Du changed too, though, I felt like his development was a little too sudden and the least believable. As for Ashile Sun, he was portrayed to be quite level-headed/grounded and was meant to be Changge's rock, so he was already quite rounded/well-developed from the start. I would say that he softened up a little after falling for Changge. He also had some growth in the middle of the drama and towards the end with his perspective on war and his priorities, but nothing that I would consider super drastic.
Discussion at Weibo about reunion with Leo Wu in Jian Lai/Sword of coming
Yes! Visually, they would look really good together. And they would be pretty comfortable working with one another as well since they're old classmates. Their chemistry from Guardians was pretty darn good, considering that the drama wasn't even romance heavy.
Discussion at Weibo about reunion with Leo Wu in Jian Lai/Sword of coming
I'm a huge Wu Lei fan and have been following the discussion on him possibly having accepted ML for Sword of Coming. I'd been hoping to see him reunite with Song Zuer in a new costume drama(saw them together in Guardians when they were young and still back at Beijing Film Academy), so I'm kind of hoping it's here with Sword of Coming. If they don't end up working together on this project then I hope to see them in a future project soon.
Still just rumors at this point. Not confirmed yet, right?
Oh, nice! And, yes, we'll eagerly await to see if it is the drama LeiLei has picked up and whom his FL will be. I miss him so much so, honestly, I'll be happy with whichever drama he accepts.
