the whole plot is pretty good. the leads have good story together but the second couple may steal some spotlight…
chemistry is personal preference, so I completely understand if some preferred the 2nd couple in terms of chemistry, but I def do not agree that they have better relationship growth. Plot and relationship growth belong to the leads.

they might trying to save some budget using the comic styles but I actually like it since it is pretty lol
For me, I appreciate the time it saves. There are multiple sieges in TLB, and if each of them plays out, it'll end up feeling more like "Lord of the Rings" where you're just sitting through long, chaotic battles. I'm fine with it because some of the more important moments and the private battles are already done with live actors. Also, the comic is used as homage to the original source of the drama since TLB/Changge Xing was originally a manhua.

Still just rumors at this point. Not confirmed yet, right?
Thank you for the info. I don't doubt too much about LeiLei playing lead in this drama...but I think I was wondering if it was already confirmed to be with Tian Xiwei. And 5 or 6 actresses competing for the female lead role is a lot. I'm so curious about who it ends up being. Hopefully they make the best choice.

cnetz want wu lei and song zuer and i kinda see what they are on, they look good together, and they are besties…
Nah. Wu Lei said himself in January that, this year, he will most likely be doing one film and one drama. Though...rumor has it that, for his drama, he's going to choose Jian Lai/Sword of Coming. It most likely won't be this one for him. Would love to see Wu Lei and Song Zuer pair up for something though, for sure.

Well, I don't really know why anyone would call her a Mary Sue. She wasn't free of weaknesses or free of character…
You could be posting something positive, but if it was a ridiculous claim, I'd still be pointing out your nonsense.

When did I act like the show was flawless and beyond critique, or say that it was? I pointed out existing facts. YOU came at ME, hun, because you didn't like that there were actually answers countering your specific claims. I mean, "a cheaper version of LLTG"? In what way even???

As for your claim about her "gliding through life by plot armor"? She lived through some extremely dangerous moments because of assistance from the people around her. Many of those instances were meant to highlight her relationship with each of them. It's not plot armor.

Title The Long Ballad Spoiler
Im only on ep 3I think i will like thisBut im so confused at who good and whos badEspecially these older men!!I…
Watch a few more episodes. You'll catch on. Basically, you have three advisors: Minister Fang, Minister Du, and Minister Wei(Shuyu's father). Minister Du is the one with the messed up teeth and cold foster son, and the one who wants Changge captured/killed. He's completely loyal to Li Shimin, but he's super paranoid of the idea that Changge would come back for revenge so he wants her captured at all cost. Minister Fang is the clever, funny one. He's also loyal to Li Shimin, but he was one of Changge's teachers while growing up, so he knows her well, and is fond of her. He doesn't want her killed so he's thwarting Minister Du in his plans to catch her, and helping Changge escape. Minister Wei, the last one, is Shuyu's father, and he was loyal to Changge's father and her family. He was also one of Changge's teachers. Li Shimin sees his abilities and wants to recruit him to become loyal to him now that he has killed off his brother, but Minister Wei refuses to switch sides because he views Li Shimin's coup and his act of killing his brother as too cruel. Hope this helps. As for who is good and who is bad...there's not supposed to be a clearcut answer to that question. No black and white answer because they each have reasonable cause for their behaviors. You'll have to watch to form your own opinion.

It's been on hold for so long for me. Should I watch it? Is it worth the watch? Anyone help a girl here!!!
YES. Watch it. What do you have to lose? If you dislike it after a few episodes, you can always just drop it. It isn't heavy in the romance department, but it has a nice love story and offers a ton of character growth and many, many beautiful messages.

I wonder if this will truly be his next drama project. Regardless of which drama he ends up choosing, I think…
Wow. So I know Song Zuer isn't new with him since they were already casted together in Guardians of the Ancient Oath when they were younger, but I was also just thinking that I would love to see them reunite in a project where they would play more mature characters than they did in Guardians. They were also great classmates at Beijing Film Academy...so it would be fun to see them reunite. Okay, so if it's not going to be a brand new actress then I'm personally hoping it'll be Song Zuer.

Not a fan of Liu Yuning, unfortunately, and not really a fan of toxic relationships(I hope the ML character isn't too unbearably mean and overbearing)...but, gonna check it out for my girl Song Zuer.

wait so Leo wu after being with Raba here, was paired with Lusi in galaxy, and Liu Tu Ning who get 3wheel here…
Legend of Anle was Dilraba and Gong Jun. Liu Yuning was 2nd lead. It's really not surprising though. Many of the popular actor/actresses will pretty much be paired with each other at some point in their careers

I responded to you to point out some facts. Also, why does it matter how many dramas my profile says that I've finished? I don't bother with updating it ever. Why should you care? It doesn't negate the facts of the drama that I pointed out. And because I genuinely like something, it makes me a bot? Flawless logic. No wonder your views about this drama are so "factual". No need to get personal with me. I'm not interested in you or your profile, only in your claims about the drama. If you have nothing to say about what I pointed out, no need to even respond.

This scene was a bit cruel!
Had to be done to make a point about how Changge was willing to help her country even if her people were unknowingly hating on her.

Loving this drama, but the animated sequences are really killing my vibe. Lol. I guess the budget was too small
The animated sequences are a homage to this drama's original source. The drama was based on a comic/manhua. Also, the animated scenes were mostly used for all the long battle sieges. I personally didn't mind them as those can get long and repetitive. I felt like the majority of the important moments were already done live with the actors.
