So I liked this show quite a lot. It was hilarious and sometimes unpredictable. I did not expect the ending at all...๐ ๐ The aspects of the show I liked: - The characters are interesting and fun to watch. The "grandma" definitely stole the show and her confidence and straightforwardness was really admirable. Had the show been longer, I would've gotten to know other characters better, but I liked them even in the short time we got... -personally, I enjoy this type of comedy that (I think) is unique to j-dramas. The actors did a good job at playing their roles accordingly. -the ending (not the very last scene): I was expecting Gonta to become a responsible guy and find a job in the city, 'cuz that's what I expected from the "change", but I liked that instead of putting up with what he got, he found what he liked instead. Not everyone is made for a particular job, so the ending made sense. I also liked that Nakano had offered grandma a chance to the start the company, so in the end, it was grandma who could do that. Just because she was back in her old self, doesn't mean she can't start a company.
The things I wished would've turned out differently: - I believe because Kasai and Gonta didn't get enough screen time, I didn't really care who she ended up with. For me, it was more like, it would be an "accomplishment" for him to confess to the girl he likes. I was rooting for the other guy more๐ Not only that, but I believe that I didn't really like how Gonta and Kasai held on to each other despite everything ( ok, I know that sounds really weird, but hear me out๐ ). Kasai was hurt by Gonta a lot, so I kinda liked she was going to learn to let go and finally find someone else. She'll move on, but she didn't. I thought Gonta would also let her go, cuz you don't always end up with the people you like, but he confessed to her anyways. So I guess the show got a happy ending, but I didn't really care...๐ -the sudden switching of "grandma's dream to become an idol" to "starting a company". I'm not blaming the character, rather, I like how she's not afraid to challenge everything and have the confidence to do it. But that dream of hers didn't get a closure, which I believe is because there wasn't enough Time. -the pacing of the show also kinda bugged me, but I can only imagine how hard it would've been to be able to fit the entire story in 8 episodes. I wish this was mainstream drama, 'cuz I liked a lot of things about it, but sometimes the story felt slow, which surprised 'cuz there wasn't already enough time.
Yep. This one is on the crazy side. Iโm here for Yokohama Ryusei and canโt exactly say itโs my cup of tea. But…
I've heard about KikazaruKoi and since I like both the lead actors, I might try it out soon...I watched the old LDK movie and I'm not sure if I'm ready to cringe again,๐ ๐ but I want to see him in more funny roles...
I think it's really sad how Gonta has been going through everything by himself and told Kasai to move on because he might die... There's only two episodes left and I don't know What's gonna happen...
There is a human trafficking tag on the drama description so yeah..., and if you watch the trailer, the boy was…
I didn't even bother to watch the trailer, but now that I did...wth is this? This is messed up...I wonder what was the writer thinking while writing this...Those clichรฉ shows with the same old tropes and twists are much better if this is supposed to something "unique" or "new"...๐ I might just check it out to see how did it even get a rating of 6.1...
i was thinking same. he felt he was/is depressed and feeling unworthy and seeing grannies happy .. well give is…
I haven't read the manga yet, but I think you're right...Gonta will try to give up his life in Katsuyo's body, but they'll switch back and Katsuyo will pass away...but then Gonta would've learnt his lesson and be leading a better life...
I just saw the trailer and a bit confused, How did Adachi get his power back or he did not lose it? Sorry, I haven't…
He did lose his powers, cuz' we saw that in the drama. Hopefully, it'll be clarified in the movie how'd he get it back...but I think it's because the makers weren't thinking of a movie that they ended the show with him losing his powers. But because fans wanted a movie, they had to bring back the concept of Adachi being able to read minds cuz' that's where everything started. The team did an amazing job with the drama so I expect them to make this movie equally enjoyable and interesting without any plot holes(honestly, even if they did, I'm just happy to see them again...๐ )
The show started out as solid 10 for me, but I just felt it was a little longer than it needed to be. It was still a very good show and I enjoyed it a lot. The characters are really likeable and interesting, and the leads are cute. I really enjoyed comedian Hamada Yutaro's commentaries; they weren't only funny but also informative. The only tragic part of the show is how they ended Shishio and Izumi's story. I get that he's not into girls and they are still friends, but I was rooting for them...๐คง Nevertheless, despite the story not being something new, the show was still very refreshing to watch. Thanks to the subbers for subbing this show!
This, with the drama is gonna be on Netflix soon and I wanna watch it for the cast but the preview was so cringe I- ๐ถ There are so many underrated j-dramas/movies that I would rather have on Netflix so that more people can know about them...
