This movie has been trending and is number 1 on Netflix JP for a couple of weeks. Ayano Go is being praised for being a brilliant actor who was able to give an excellent performance.
Yeah, I usually try to download the video and watch on my laptop or find an Ai translator to create imperfect subs. They miss some words but gives me the freedom to watch stuff I want to explore without waiting.
I was worried for my bum and of course as someone that's used to watch at least at a faster pace. I was worried how I would do in a movie theater but watching in imax was visually tantalizing and such a beautiful experience.
The lady sitting next to me kept crying 😠😠while I felt angry for the stuff that was happening to him just because of his birth. I feel like I need to read the book now, but it doesn't have an English translation.
The closing scene was the most beautiful show of kabuki. He really did work hard to get there. I'm glad the writer gave him his moment.
I'm sorry, but I still dislike seeing Erika Karata, and she gets the worst parts, too. So seeing her opposite Okada Masaki was kind of off-putting.
I liked the other loopy stories, especially the one about the "son of God" and the "Frog" one The one about the bonfires was also kind of heartwarming. They are all stories with multiple meanings or you can find meaning from them.
Is the show just about women being terrorized by men or what?? It felt more like social commentary than horror. E3 & E4 annoyed me do much because they seemed to be important subjects that are glossed over in favor of cheap jumpscares
This movie is more irritating than scary with all the knocking and the banging of doors. And of course mothers are always blamed for the system that allows them to cause their kids stress through study.
Haha, we're in the future now. 2026 but we don't have those types of mobile phones or ipads. First half was interesting but second half is kind disjointed. Why do I get the impression they're blaming her when the dad took custody of the son. Why didn't he go look for his mum, she gave him the kids. I'm sure she's always hoped he would come back.
FL is such an annoying, needy character to watch. Almost feels like watching a bipolar character who wants to be treated like a princess. I hated the way she would disturb and aggravate the screenwriter boyfriend and start fights. She's borderline abusive.
The structure of the film doesn't help either, with very little dialogue and a free form at times I wasn't even sure about the story.
Edit: FL later has a consult to find out if she's bipolar.
Wow, what an emotional movie. Ayano Go did an excellent job, you feel all his emotions and more. I felt so much throughout the whole movie, from anger to tears to relief and sadness. It's been a while since I watched a jmovie that could deliver such emotional range.

I liked the shaman though.

It was also funny how they kept changing the pick-axe kid's actor. Sometimes, he looked bigger.
