I think Shengyi already got the best redemption she is capable of by walking away. It is clear Mudan doesn't understand…
There are so many Shengyis in this "modern" era who can't break that vicious circle of abuse. And, most of it comes from family dynamic they were born in. I still want that family flogged, I am petty, I admit, but...
girl he was a piece of sht to her 💀 why are you all such hypocrites to female characters and expect them to…
I have no idea how he was "sht" to her, and she had so many opportunities to leave, she didn't because she had great benefit from his affections. BUT, I wrote this message to comment on their first and second meeting in this drama. She was arrogant and full of herself, treating this guy she meets for the first time and who offers her a job AS A FAVOR to her friend, like "sht". And then, when she finds out she actually needs job, she is all nice, polite, submissive little girl. Disgusting behavior, no matter weather she is female or male. Because of that, she was VERY unlikable to me! At that point in drama she couldn't know what kind of man 2ML was, so her behavior had nothing to do with 2ML's character. And, lets be honest, all of them were just using 2ML and his money. Later into drama, he was unlikable himself for other reasons, too. Tbh, all of them weren't the people I would like to hang around or to have anything to do with, (except that sommelier girl and 3FL).
Followed your other post I read a little bit about emperor Xuanzong and his favorite consort he had to kill, lol. China has rich history! I support this regulation about history, as I said. In history of my people, we have wronged some historical figures through sonnets, folk poems, folk tales and so on. For example, we have (lets call him) king (it would be what you explained Wang is in Chinese history) who was a hero, fighting our invaders - long story short - he is considerate a traitor, real history knows he isn't, but "popular" history treats him as one. On the other hand, we have prince who wasn't hero, but was elevated as one (long story, again), so "popular" history treats him like hero. And, 700 years later, many uneducated people still believe in popular history rather than is historical facts. So, maybe that law sounds harsh, but it serves justice. As always, tnx for your inputs, I enjoy reading them. English is not my native language, I apologies for mistakes.
Tnx for your reply. I didn't know this drama is considerate historically accurate. And, I must admit that I actually like that part of Chinese law, I don't think one should "sell" false history through art, it's manipulation, not art. Unfortunately, that is what so called popular/mass culture doing all the time. Have a wonderful day! <3
I guess I'm in minority, but I really want redemption and revenge arc for Shengyi. Her obnoxious family, as root of all evil, really deserves to be punished for treating her, a family member, like dirt.
Are you serious? She is the commander! She’s in charge of the mission. Who do those family members and LMH’s…
I know that this post has to go in spoiler, but I wish it didn't... The arrogance some people have to think they are so superior to others and they are above any regulation and law!
I'm at ep 7. Is there a reason why MuDan doesn't seek Jiang Chang Yang to become an accountant instead of looking…
Because she would have nice, stable life and screenwriters wouldn't have opportunity to write all those sadistic plots for her. So, it is for the plot sake. That is the reason why he leaves town without putting someone in charge to keep an eye on her and to protect her (something anyone with one brain cell would do knowing how many enemies she has and what they have done to harm her).
About the only good thing from this episode is it looks like, so far, that the FL has not been brutally gang raped…
Tbx, I think you should put this as a review. I'm astonished by the level of screenwriting in China. It appears they can't come up with anything that doesn't involve torturing FL that never ends and killing off as many characters as possible. They just can't put some balance into storytelling. And, how many rape attempts in one 32 episodes drama is a must?!
I didn't watch yet but I have read comment from everyone. Look like ''love triangle'' ? My feeling is look like…
Now you said it, yea, it does have some similarities: serious character she admires and can relay on, smart and brave FL, and ultimate fool for a ML. Now we can already see how ML's character improves (baby steps, though) and how she starts to like him. He has already fallen for her hard.
I guess you didn’t watch episode 21 because PTSD and trauma doesn’t excuse you for making poor decisions or…
Princess is not Mudan's friend, Shengyi is her friend and partner. Princess is Mudan's enemy, so it is expected that she would try to harm FL. You do expect that from your enemies, you do not expect from your friends to backstab you and ruin your life. I could understand Shengyi's pain and she was my favorite character... until she wasn't, because... telling secrets is a no no.
the way he confessed and didn’t mention to her that she would have to be a concubine because he is already engaged…
Yea, interesting twist between FL and 2ML. Unfortunately, ML is so ridiculous and annoying, at this point she is better off alone. ML will probably get grow up arc, but for now, he is yikes.
