I have a genuine question guys, please don't air me. I didn't finish cause I got bored but why are they going…
I think that even scriptwriter herself has no idea why.
In drama: rich, powerful, obnoxious chairman of some company has dead son and daughter, but he doesn't se HER as his heir, so, since he has his dead son's flop sperm (which is useless on Earth), he sends them to space so he can get his precious male heir out of that sperm. LOL
Hang on a second, are you talking about the case of a serial killer butcher woman who was killing other women?…
I disagree, sorry. Because, if you pretend that those 2 bastards who ruined her life and killed her soul didn't happen, and that everything is "only her problem", than you can "pretend" that "she didn't happen" to those girls who got killed, so you can say it's their problem and only their problem. Doesn't sound right? No, of course not, because they were innocent. And, she was innocent when she was sent into insanity by those two as***es. Showing compassion is understanding (NOT justification!) what made her do such a despicable thing. Understanding that it was NOT "only and only" her problem. One wrongdoing led to another. If she wasn't mistreated badly, she wouldn't turn into monster. (We saw how loving and caring she was to her husband). But, if you can only feel bad for the girls but not for her, if you feel that what they did to her wasn't a big deal, I really can't say anything further to make you feel otherwise. Nor should I. We are different, I feel very sorry for those girls, but I did feel sorry for her, too. And, I couldn't care less for a ML with mindset like that. If you watched (older show) CSI you could see how investigators treat murderers differently, some with disgust and some with compassion. Enjoy drama and have a nice day.

I think she is both, a victim and a culprit. She started as a victim. Those 2 bastards drove her into madness, which led to murders. She is also a murderer, and since she killed innocent women, she should be punished with max punishment. Nevertheless, lack of compassion from ML for what was done to her was disgusting. Having empathy and understanding doesn't mean that she shouldn't take responsibility for her innocent victims. It's vicious circle of wrongdoings, and she was also innocent in the beginning.
Could someone who saw all episodes be so kind to spoil it for me: did that super rich, super powerful, super obnoxious chairman got his dead son's child? Did they succeed with last morula thing? Did he god his precious heir? Please, spoil it as much as you want. Thank you.
Not to mention "revenge" step mother got, with her going insane (so, everything is sunshine for her), living in the garden full of flowers, with husband and maids to take care of her, and to top it all - her son is the only heir of the family. Revenge was so, so lame...
1. He did everything to ruin them. New in town young girls without money and any backup. He cheated girls' mother…
Oh, I see, you like an actor so you project... I have never said anything against Wang Xing Yue, only about character he plays. I watched WXY for the first time in "Your Sensibility My Destiny" way before he gain popularity. He is good actor and there is no reason for him to become even better. He plays this Chai An character really well. But, for now, the character is petty, vengeful and controlling (thus: jerk). I watched WXY in SOKP variety show, and it appears he is really nice and funny guy, not even close to character he plays in this drama. So, to conclude, no one is attacking actor, just character. Have a nice day and happy watching.
I thought a little about it and I think it's because they are too human in their awfulness. Too realistic and…
Tbh, I already explained in another post why I think bad writing and storytelling is the problem of this drama. I won't repeat myself. "Historically accurate" is just excuse for lame writing.

I don't disagree with you at all. Since I watched SOKP while it was airing, I can tell you that many dropped drama once FL switched from 2ML to ML. Others loved it. But, we all called him "red flag" and no one pretended he is nice guys, like some girls are doing for ML in this drama. Also, I think reception depends on people's expectations: if you say "romantic comedy", you don't expect ML to cheat, flog or choke FL.
I have another viewpoint. Chai An looks like a bad boy outside but in fact he is warm hearted inside. There are…
1. He did everything to ruin them. New in town young girls without money and any backup. He cheated girls' mother FIRST. They cheated his mother in revenge.
2. He was OK with his uncle physically bulling scholar into marriage with his daughter. He even smirked at him: "You know there is no way out, my uncle will make you marry". He only changed his ways after Du Yang Xi scolded him and reminded him that once he was a good man.
3. He didn't save anyone. He found out what happened when everything was done. He joined the revenge FL was already plotting, and he offered his help, which FL accepted. It was a nice moment, they bonded over it.
4. He saved them, and than he went on to traumatize her pretending to be a kidnapper and suggest the same thing to his cousin ("to teach his wife a lesson of obedience"), which resulted in 2nd sister spent whole night tied up and bagged up, terrorized and traumatized, and later, in that bed scene, we could see she developed PTSD.
So no, he has many "wrong actions", not just treating 2nd sister like dirt in support of his cheating cousin. (And I don't think 2nd sister should be proud of beating her husband) One can like actor, or character, but lets not white wash some awful stuff that character did.
agree. I think that is what the writer want to convey. They kind of fall in love at 1st sight but due to the intervention…
I myself really hate misunderstanding trope, especially when it drags forever. I dropped dramas because of it. So, I get where you come from. On the other hand, they can't get married in episode 7, so their romance has to drag till the end. So, this is plot device to bring them apart. In this case, what she did was the best choice, because it shows her good heart and her care for ML.
I hate how they try to compare this "historically accurate" drama with Pride and Prejudice. Jane Austin was ahead…
For the same reason Wickham wasn't male lead, mr Darcy was... Wickham's evil doings were portrayed, but not as something desirable and funny, good comedy, like it's done (for now) in this drama. Funny, haha, to hit a girl, to rape a girl, to play kidnappers... You can show despicable behavior of that time all you want, but you don't want to promote it in "family drama" or in "romantic drama" as something "normal". OK, misogynists want to promote nasty behavior toward women to normalize it through "historically accurate" dramas, but many of us don't like this sort of manipulation, and we discuss it here.
You can go and watch drama called Su Yu. Male lead is this abusive, ridiculous, narcissistic prince, but drama makes fun of him, not of his victims.

It is not miscommunication. She cares about herself and her family, she is smart and she knows life with those 2 toxic women, who didn't respect ML's wishes and went on with contempt, insults and dissatisfaction toward her and her family, would be unbearable. She doesn't want life like that. So, she draws the line and calls it of. The easiest way for her would be to tell the truth, clear her name and leave ML to deal with his mother. She does the opposite because she CARES for ML. She takes the blame so he can have harmonious relationship with his mother. That is what people with good heart do when they care for someone - they protect that one. ML would be heartbroken if he knew what his mother did.
