They could settle things at the end of S1 with fake marriage and little happiness it brings, but no - they had to drop more garbage in it! 2nd concubine is my red line!

Ditto. He had an upper hand on King Ning, due to downfall of Ning's supporters, so he should avoid it. I don't mind there is no romance, but I do mind that there is new villain again, put into story to harm FL and weaken her position, while ML is having time of his life during all 32 episodes.

Well, she is sent as s spy, and knowing screenwriters of FP, they are not very capable to write anything else beside lets torture and try to rape or kill FL... so, I would say she will try at least once to kill Mudan. 😅

This drama is for misogynists and sadists who enjoy women being beaten, raped, flogged, enslaved, humiliated, tortured and so on... No independence, nor empowerment here, tbh. And with second concubine in the picture it is clear that same thing will drag into second season... While ML is plotting and enjoying himself.

Sexual harassment - yes, attempted rape - yes, attempted murder - yes, all sort of torture, bulling, killing, humiliating - yes, yes, yes, yes... Unhinged powerful nasty characters - yeeees!

The "wh..." thing: the name of that drama is Under the Moonlight, there are 2 men and FL. She has feelings for only one of them and she is not even close to "w". It is beautiful low budget drama and if you like case breaking dramas with spark of mystery (second half), you might give it a try. Also, drama gives good portrait of how women were treated during history, so you might considerate it as women empowering drama, since it is FL who is smart, capable and doesn't like to rely on anyone. And, she is the one who is doing cases (which is big thumbs up for me).

I haven't watch any of the cast. But, I don't chose dramas according to actors, but I follow the stories I find appealing.
So far, I like this drama very much. And I am glad to see others are enjoying it, too.

Many dramas would give us "she is, actually, a noble, but..." trope. I wonder what we will get here.

Ta Hwan... As a character, he is quite meh&meh, his love for FL is what gives him some credit.
But, when it comes to actor... I have a very soft spot for him. LOL

I wouldn't compare those 2 dramas, Empress Ki was all drama, drama, drama, angst, angst, angst, me as a viewer couldn't take a breath because of all plotting and killing that happened. It was a roll-coaster of violence, and I got tired tbh, didn't finish it. (I might one day, who knows).
Writing in this drama is different. There are moment of pure joy, of happiness, story stops so we could enjoy those little things. No unnecessary violence and sadism just to provoke "emotions". Everything is subtle, not over exaggerated, like in Empress Ki.
Now, this are only my 2 cents.
