I know but according to my Chinese friend, Koreans are the most extreme drinkers in all ASEAN nations and unfortunately, this portrayal is realistic and according to him. That's exactly what he meant....something has to break the dry spell in Asian drama land. After SOKP (story of kunning palace) I have not seen anything worthwhile and there were some Kdrama's that started good but they ruined everything in the second half (Story of P marriage contract, Marry my husband, Demon and Dr Slump).
So the final boss was Wu Zetian, who was such an extreme savage and power-hungry DEVIL. That she had her son, his kid and his wife killed and then dethroned another son, to reign in her own name cuz kid started to behave independently. She F@cked ML at-least three-four times over in his career but he refused to admit her newly independent Zhao dynasty and even on his grave following words were written, "Tomb of Lord Di Renjie, famous chancellor of the Great Tang dynasty" Needles to say, she was the huge fan of ML (some even claim physical attraction) and he made sure China prospered under her reign and its said, she franticly cried over his death but before his death, he made sure Tang dynasty will be restored. Di had recommended many capable officials, including Zhang Jianzhi, Yao Yuanchong, Huan Yanfan, and Jing Hui. As these officials were later instrumental in overthrowing Wu Zetian in 705 and returning Li Xian to the throne (as Emperor Zhongzong).

One of her old, disgruntled employee made the Tax-fraud claim against her and he ruined her career cuz lets say. The investigation clears her but all these big production houses, who have to shelf their S+ tier dramas are never going to let it go and will hold it against her in future. People want her return to Chinese entertainment industry after her case, I just want her to live her life happily after this and focus on her mental health and life. Its really not worth it....but I still hope this dry season forces "Cdrama industry" to release her and other people stuff.

I hope something drops and Song Zu Er is suffering from bogus charges cuz case against her is in period of 2020 to half of 2023, and she didn't even earn 50% of the amount they are accusing her off evading. at max She earned 15 Million dollar in 2.5 years and tax on that would be in thousands but the whistle blower accused her of 45 Million dollar tax evasion case. Everything she shoot for is on hold and recently there have few positive signs as, one of her dramas passed the Chinese censor review and is in process of getting the distribution license.

Yep and things on kdrama side aren't looking good either. They ruined "Marry my husband" and "Doctor Slump" in the second of half of the drama and we are left with nothing to watch. If rumors and release schedule are to be believed, we will have nothing from Bai Lu, Tian xi wei, Zhao lusi, Dilruba, Esther Yu, Zhao Ye, Zhang Jing Yi and Yang Zi...so I am confused WTF are we supposed to watch. The only way cdrama's can be saved right now is, if they un-ban Song Zu Er and release her five S tier drama's currently on the shelves.

I noticed that too (you are right they were Belgium and German Shepherd) and they weren't even aggressive like wolf packs and displayed zero "Wolf-pack" characteristics. Its not like they don't have the CGI tech to render wolves cuz "Story of kunning palace" had them....its just plain laziness and drama seems decent budget to me so far.

If I am ever going to put up with 60-70 episodes, it better be on the lvl of "Story of the Yanxi Palace" or better.
