I am/was not a fan of Yang Zi and the only thing I have ever watched of her is "Oath of Love", and it's a good drama but for some unknown reason. I just can't bring myself to like her and I always knew, she is a well renowned actress with multiple hits under her name. Over the years, I have repeatedly tried to watch her stuff, but something always felt off, and I dropped her stuff after 2–3 episodes. Now, quiet frankly, I had nothing to watch and picked this up after recommendations from friends......and IT'S A GREAT DRAMA ! I know its not everybody's cup of tea but the "Layered characters" with multifactorial complex relationships portrayed in this drama are "one of the best", I have seen so far in the Asian drama's. The acting is top-notch and everybody is doing great here, especially the Female Lead. Yang Zi has lived up to name and reputation and her portrayal of the woman, stuck in the past, dealing with myriad of her emotions due to her encounter with different NPC's (or other leads). Usually when other people portray a role like this, it comes out as "Heavy" or sometimes kinda feels forced, but her acting in this is very natural and it really makes you feel for her. The only actress I know apart from her, that can easily pull out a role like this "Tan Song Yun" and her role in Go-Ahead was one of the best. ML acting is also good but FL is over-powering him by a lot and it kinda feels mismatched......if they picked Luo Yun Xi, Jermy Tusi or Allen Ren for the ML role. This could have easily been the best drama of 2024 !
