It all happened thanx to FL timely but rapid character development, she improved in every department and not only apologized for her past behaviour....even went far and literally held ML at "Knife Edge" to extract the confession out of him.
Another main reason behind their successful confession is just SAD, MingYu made a huge mistake and I hope she escapes from that man, scratch free and Zhuang Yuan persistence pays off !

You should watch ep 19 start and see FL confessing her crimes (not literally). I am the guy, who is dating his bestie of 22 years and even I never went as far as to spend night alone with her on freaking mountain in freaking Camps.
That's the type of shit people do for "Honey moon" and other stuff and she could have told him to drop her back immediately and that nigga is not dying, he has not coughed blood and in C-drama land...its the most consistent sign.
I suspect they will make some trash excuse like some gal dumped him or she died and due to the trauma, he is unable to write anymore. So he has to complete the list to let go off the trauma and finally move on, allowing him to restore his writing ability. Then drama may even go far to connect that with FL trauma, where her friend Yei Fei died and she attended the funeral but forgot everything due to the trauma/emotional distress.
So they have to make her remember all that for her to move on and let go of the past.....I am afraid the directors will kill "Grandma character" for that story arc.

When did Yang Zi ever explained anything to ML?
She never told him the real reason behind the whole "going aboard" saga and instead dragged ML best friend into it by using him as a bait. So, what are you on?
Its ML life and career, who was the FL to make a decision for him by forcing him against his own will, just cuz she thinks its best for him and not only that. She straight up refused to talk him, explain herself or "COMMUNICATION" you are talking about here.
Never did ML throw the tantrum, when Ding Ye visited her house and in-fact she never told him.....when the whole Chloe deal happened, ML immediately went after her and even left Chloe there hanging. He properly explained himself to her and properly dealt with the situation.

both parties agreed to go on a date.....NO NORMAL FRIEND ASKS YOU TO GO TO FAMOUS DATING SPOTS and THEN FORCEFULLY takes you to spend a damnn night alone on the mountain in the freaking camps. These scenarios are used by people for consummation of the marriage or relationships !
ML was not going around to famous dating places with Chloe !

So in your mind deciding for someone's life, refusing to meet him and explain yourself, expecting one party to stay filial and while you go to famous dating places around the town and again refuse to explain yourself by saying its his privacy and agree to meet someone for a date and then went with whole another men and spend a night on mountain with him is OKAY !

FL is entitled to her life and she can do what-ever the "F", she wants but ML is also entitled to his life and have every right to not put up with this shit. So we are back to square one and my original advice of "ML putting the relationship on hold" stands.
Rights matter but the very essence of relationship is accountability and FL is not ready for this.

I will not spoil you but in ep 18, he was pissed and FL used neutral friends to deescalate the situation but he went after her........I hope FL doesn't make "independence and rights claim" to justify her behaviour.

The un-biased answer would be "We are waiting for it" but friends have great chemistry with each other.

She choose to hurt and she did it again and like I mentioned, if it was one-time thing. I wouldn't care and give her the benefit of the doubt but its her habitual behaviour.
He yanked her from there and she choose spend a night with a "random guy" in wilderness.....I can't blame ML for overthinking and making stupid assumptions like, like Fl sleeping with her or other stuff like that.
He at least rejected Chloe and made it clear to her but Ding Ye, said he hates Jiang Yi and portrayed sus behaviour.....but doesn't clicked in FL head.

Unpopular opinion,
FL is problem in the lead's relationship, and I know people will try to bring reasons here, but everyone has justification for their behaviour, heck even Hitler and Japanese has reasons for their crimes (I am not comparing lead and war-criminals but you get my point).
Regardless of her justifications, the reality follows the logic of "Cause and effect" and reality FL don't actually love ML at all. When you love someone, your partner is at the top of the hierarchy of people/friends and you will give them priority above anything, but FL don't tend have this regarding the ML.
Judging by her action, in which she lied to him about going aboard thing (hence decided to leave him), refused to say goodbye (knowing very well his parents don't give a fuck about him) when he was departing the country and now ditched him, when Ding Ye approached her. The point I am trying to make here is, in her mind, ML is someone with no respect and honor, he is a disposable person, whom she do wrong too (whenever situation demands it) cuz she knows he will forgive her......so when Ding Ye took her to the car and told her about going to mountains,
in her mind calculation, saying NO to Ding Ye was far more disastrous than ditching her LOVE/life-long friend cuz former is far more important to her and latter will complain and do nothing....that's the lack of respect for ML. It would have been fine, if it was one time thing but FL is habitual offender and on the top of that, she has done far more for her other friends and Ding Ye, as compared to Jiang Yi.

I don't think she loves him at all, FL is portrayed as a person, who is still stuck in myriad of her past memories. While everybody has moved on with their life, she is the only person still reliving the past moment's and brings them occasionally.....and in her past, she had crush on ML (like every normal teen would under the influence of puberty hormonal change) and that's what is still between them.
She can turn the whole world upside down for the teacher friend but then turn around and do this shit to him.....to make it simple "Actions speak louder than words". If we look at it from neutral perspective, I don't care what she thinks cuz it doesn't matter, what matter is "What she has done" and going from that. She has no respect or love for ML and he is at the bottom of her importance list and she can f@ck him, whenever she wants for 2 week friend or monetary gain (interview).

I know its long and I have been going in circles but ML need to wake up and dump her right now....relationship can be put to hold till she figures out, what she wants in life and from him. The whole list thing is just stupid cuz Ding Ye is not sick and is not going to die....going by my experience of C-drama's, he has not coughed blood and hence he is pretty healthy.
If FL actually cared about ML, she should have stood her ground, gave importance to her love/old friend, whom she knows is waiting for him in restaurant and said solid "No" to Ding Ye but she gave really NO resistance and went on with his plan.
ML has every right to be angry and this drama has been grounded in reality so far......if they gloss over such a huge problem and ESCALATION by FL part....it would really ruin such a good story.

Unpopular Opinion regarding FL with reasons

ML rejected Chloe in ep 18 and the whole ordeal was over in 2 episode, if you are concerned about the negativity and angst. Then there is none is this drama so far, I would give this drama solid 8.5.

No its a great drama and I would highly recommend it....there are few negative characters but positive out-weight them by a lot.

I hope you make fully recovery brother and follow the surgeon's advice regarding postoperative care....I know awful lot of people, who have ruined the results of good surgery due to their own stupidity.

Chloe is one hell of "Horny Mad lad" and is capable of anything under the influence of estrogen, she is "Alpha Female" of the drama and acts like a "Go getter". She wants the ML and she made her moves to achieve that goal, unlike our beta leads doing absolutely nothing and hence they gave opening to the Chloe.
I hope it wakes up ML and he refuses her "ADVANCES" and make it clear to her, he is a pious, beautiful and filial man, who will not settle down to become a concubine but I don't hate it.
We have a lot of men in C-drama, who use their influence and authority to chase poor innocent FL's....Now for a change we have aggressive who is using her authority to chase ML.

Gone were the cliche days, when innocent Fl's were kissed by the Domineering CEO'S in the meeting rooms and they ran away after that....Now we have Chloe,
"Whatever Chloe wants, she gets it"

ML was the dick get go but he improved mid way through as per requirement of the story and the synopsis.

Yeah people are overreacting here, we may have 1-2 episodes of angst but main leads had 16 episodes to talk about their relationship....but nope they refused to acknowledge their feelings and hence we are left with this shitty situation.
Judging by the tone of the drama, Chloe character will probably disappear or lose limelight after this endeavor.
