This is very toxic behaviour considering the fact that she had better options available to her like completing breaking it off with SML and then enjoy her single life to fullest. Breakups are normal part of human life and its natural/normal for people to grow apart from their partners during extended period of absence, but it all comes down how you deal with the situation. Every relationship has problems and there is nothing in world known as perfect relationship, infact its perfect/good people who communicate and solve their problems to make it a perfect relationship. She didn't decide to return to him, her infidelity partner/ML turned out to be a scumbag and she tried to return to the safer/back up option. There wasn't ohhh I still love him bias, NO she fucked around and found out. Hoe can get online make fake claims and MeToo the guy to destroy his career, achievement and send him to jail to destroy his life too. After ep 14 debacle it seems like the right move, he is feeling guilty cuz after her rejection. It seems he took advantage of her trust in him to cross multiple boundaries and nearly sexually assaulted her (although he didn't cuz he was going very slow and gave her enough time/space to push back which she did). Its like the feeling of betrayal and breach of trust of his part and he is feeling very guilty about it. So, he is trying to give her space and time to heal, sort out his own feelings and thinking of ways to salvage their friendship.

Although I agree with majority of what you have said here but I don't think there is any confusion going on in here, both parties know they want it and that kiss scene was like maximum he could do without ruining their friendship forever. FL kinda over-reacted to the whole ordeal and then refused to send message or properly communicate her side of the story, although she is completely in right and her behaviour is realistic, but she could have handled the aftermath properly. I agree with ML in his whole immediately apologizing part cuz she trusted him, and he crossed multiple boundaries to make that move, he broke her trust and tried to take advantage of the situation. Not only that he did that to his bestie, who trust him with everything. He should be doing his best to get her forgiveness cuz he nearly assaulted her. Now we are in this wired situation, where ML received hard push back and clear/strong "No" as an answer from her. He is doing what every reasonable man should do by asking for her forgiveness and try to salvage whatever is left of their friendship. FL is equally confused cuz she wanted to kiss him and if it wasn't for that person shadow in the window, I am 100% positive she would have gone through with it. She just don't understand why ML is overreacting about the whole ordeal but I understand him, its bad. If I did something like this, I completely deserve the slapping, cursing and completely cutting me off from her life. Feeling the sense of security is important to females and they don't show their vulnerable side easily to people unless she completely trust you. ML was supposed to give her that sense of security and protect her from outside world, not to turn into Monster himself and take advantage of her trust. Now he is feeling very guilty and trying to remove himself from situations to give her piece of mind and not reignite her trauma. I am not blaming FL cuz she did the right thing and it would have been very awkward to be caught Toungs down into your bestie, when their whole family was outside, but she should understand that. Unfortunately, ML received clear NO from her and he is not going to make another move unless she gives him a CLEAR sign or go-ahead.
