I made my account on 2016 & I was there when Goblin receive some backlash from viewers during its airing for their age gap/ romance with a highschooler so I can assure you for that.
I dropped it for the same reason, tho not because of their actual age gap, but more because they're not at the same/ not even similar emotional maturity, one is a 900years old goblin & the other is a bubbly immaturish highschooler who keeps calling him ahjussie2 all the time so it's really hard to buy their romance

Life is so short indeed but I bet you it'd feel too long if you deal & engage with a creep/wrong people

*as for the webtoon, from what I gather, they don't make the FL stalk the ML like the drama did here & make her feeling for the 8 years old ML less obvious, sounds better to me

Agreed, what bothers me the most is the directing choice, not the premise itself. The decision to make the FL fully dedicated all her life for the ML while not giving us enough reason to believe, pushing/forcing all her way & not giving the ML a room to breath while forgetting her sister existence.
I can't shake the feeling how with the hands of other director this drama can be way more beautiful to see if they make it more subtle like you said or like the webtoon itself (based on how the story evolve on webtoon from the people who read it) yet this director choose not to & adding unnecessary weird directing choice & dialogues that makes the drama felt even creepier.

And right, as I grow older, I appreciate people who cared/treated his/her family and friends with kindness more than ppl who did 9999 things for his/her love interest, the latter just felt less genuine since there's intention underneath to get his/her love interest.
The FL could be seen in a way better light if the drama make her prioritize/ lookout for his/her family first, her poor niece from the 17th, her one & only lil' sister from her 18th life rather than fixate on the ML to make him hers.

If she can "waste" more time to reamend her relationship with her family, why can't she do the same for the ML? now that sounds as if the ML is different coz he's her target that she need to achieve rather than companionship or love.

If the FL here is the 2nd FL in this drama who pursue the ML with the same kind of approach I believe most people will be furious with her obsessive way to get the ML.

You're free to perceive it as you will but to me there's always a limit to everything, one can be seen refreshing without being too excessive which imo the FL did here. I don't watch IOTNBO & I don't feel the need to bring other drama to the table to compare it either.

Yeah it's kdrama afterall, it's predictable & formula-ish that the ML must fall for the FL, I just wish they make her moves more subtle so it's easier to digest how the ML attract to her, not only just because she is the FL & it's written on script

Oh I believe that's what the drama trying to achieve "he is attracted to her unknowingly" that's a given since this is a romance kdrama afterall so it must be that way, but it doesn't translate well onscreen since the production team making her frontal moves & pushiness way too excessive, I'd rather had them toned it down at least a lil', making it more subtle so the romance felt less artificial instead of taking it as the leads got together just because the script says so & just because they are the main leads.

She met him when he was 8, they part more than 20years, people can change even in months.

So it feels more like she keep pushing it regardless how would he feel & how he keep saying no to all her moves

Hadn't really reject her advance? I believe he keep saying no to all her moves but she just keep pushing it, I wonder if we even watch the same show

I believe there are tons better way to make the ML feel better without making it creepy but the production team choose not to, they keep adding this clinginess & pushyness of the FL as if it's not overwhelming already

This drama keeps giving creepy romance vibes, not only they had to make the FL seen the ML as her love interest as early as he's an 8 years old boy, the obsessive & aggressive way of the FL pushing herself to the ML as very well offputting dialogues just really outshines the goodness of this show (acting) & makes the romance felt really force & artificial to me.

FL: You, Director-nim (ML)
ML: I was referring to FOOD
FL: Everything that you like
ML: Don't you hv preference?
FL: My preference is you

This kind of approach doesn't translate well in real life, If I ever cameacross a man/ woman being as clingy & obsessive as the FL did here to the ML I'd run as far as I could with all my might

They just don't want to grow conscience & admit how this can be a problem, so they always had to bring this other unrelated fantasy drama to defend when two wrong doesn't make it right, some who includes romantic feeling scenes with minor still receive strong oppose reaction (I was there) & it's not even as young as an 8 years old kid like this drama show to us. What a weak defense.

To break it down:
GOBLIN: receive strong oppose reaction when the FL is a highschooler
TONT: The ML met the FL when she's lil' but the drama never show he has romantic feeling until later she become an adult & they interact more as adult, after she reincarnate he only protect her for safety & only when they remeet again as adult by coincidence they rekindled the romance
BULGASAL: the focus isn't even romance, more thriller with all the killings & had 0 romance with minor, it's like comparing apple to orange

None of this other drama they mentioned has the lead in his/her adult mind see an 8 years old kid romantically/ as their potential romantic partner like this drama has.

Imagine if her 17th life as an uncle isn't as nice as the drama portrays, how disturbing it could be seen (the way she take an 8 years old boy as her potential lover)? But ofc this is kdrama who often romanticized everything so throwing every disturbing sign under the rug is the norm & they expect everyone to accept it

Some ppl are just blatantly rude & childish to forbid people giving their honest opinion over a drama they watched unless it's positive feedbacks, lol this page isn't even a fanpage to begin with. They forgot that the main purpose of this page are to give feedbacks whether it's positive or negative, to discuss or share different pov, opinion, all acceptable. This! Exactly! Memories & experience are things that shaping us all as an adult, his/her younger body is the only thing that differs him to regular adult, while deepdown in mind she/he shd be more adult than an any adult ever thanks to his 999 years living experience :))))

Idk but to me, I'd feel as disturbed if I hear an adult has romantic feeling for me when he saw me at my 3rd grade & has 999plans to approach me no matter what 😂 I can reject him, sure. Do I feel intimidated? Likely yes. Do I feel less disturbed to hear he only make his approach later? Mostlikely no, the knowledge itself can be pretty scary for some

First all her reincarnated memories returns to her at the age of 9 & her own mom even say that at times she doesn't feel like she's her own kid & it's an instant change overnight, so it's open to interpretation & not like what you've stated above.

The FL fixated on marry the ML based on her18th life encounter with him as a child & not as adult, which's y it was disturbing for some, they barely meet as adult yet she already decided she'll marry him on her 19th life & she have that in mind early on even when she still in her minor age. It's not helping either since the FL keep referring herself as uncle so it's as if they keep projecting this uncle as the original/ stronger soul than this 12years old girl 🥴

Then how about a grown ass man living in a young girl's body but have a romantic feeling for a 9 years old boy? Jk, but you get the gist of it 🙃
