Imo this drama is watchable, doesn't have that many palace politics part, they focus more on comedy & romance, love triangle, just a nice filler drama with many steamy kisses, just don't expect them to be an outstanding one & you're good.
So if you hv nothing to watch & look something to watch in between waiting for your priority drama, this can be an option.
Gotta say tho that the FL in ep 30++ I find can be quite frustating to watch & the SML despite the actor is attractive I find quite annoying, if that's ok with you then I guess it's worth the shot.

He never knows, what he knows is it's alr too late for him in this life coz he knows ZY alr love his master & he bowed out for ZY to be with her beloved.
To me he realized whether ZY is YY reincarnation or not, she still a different entity & has her own right to live the life she wanted.
He's kinda being resurrected later at ep 39 although it's rather a plot device coz the real villain doesn't hv physical body.
A Yuan doesn't make it alive till the end, tho :"(

Ep 30: grr the FL is really getting on my nerves, am rolling my eyes too much from her stupidity & mopping for the SML. She gets on trouble after trouble & if there wasn't any she'll create it herself 🤦‍♀️

Lemme risk my friend's life only to surrender myself to a lion's dent to be held hostage without plan & hope my injured husband can rescue me.
As if it isn't enough, what? I'll forgive you for everything & wailing like that? Lmao.
He brought that doom upon himself, serves him right imo.
And who the heck she is forgiving him for everything? When he risk everyone involves in war & casualties just because his ego can't take that he failed to get his woman.
I wouldn't even call that love, more like an obsession to me, just toxic.

Ep 27: I despise both SML & not an ounce of my sympathy goes to them 😑

One SML is simply selfish & rude, only think of himself & treated the FL like an object.
While the other SML is hellbent on framing his own brother due to his own limidity & insecurity, never reflected on himself no matter how many times he's been given another chance.

Ofc I would, replace Yuan w/ your parents, would you let your lover kill your parents out of prophecy, even when you know they're not at fault? I know I won't let that happen & protect them at all cost.
Hence I find the writing is remarkably good coz if you take a look from each character's perspective & remember that these characters doesn't have the same amount of knowledge us viewers are getting, what they did all r make senses.

Ep 35: This drama has the most satisfying arc for a SML, such a well written, beautifully crafted SML character & I'm really thankful how the FL stood by him whether it's out of respect/familial love/friendship/companionship for her life long guardian.
It's as if the drama foretelling us how romantic love isn't always above, familial love can be as important as romantic love like the love we have for our partner & the love we have for our parents, beautiful ❤️

Now after this satisfying closure, I can truly root for the FL & ML's love, and all that she's been through for him, vice versa.
Also, BXL's arc & character development even satisfying to see.
I'm really satisfied with how well written this drama is, with less blood spitting, less annoying misunderstanding part & sensible act from each character that align well with how each character has been written so far, WELL DONE!!

Zhi Yuan, thank you for existing & you'll def be missed, my all time fav SML's character.
Alen Fang, I've only known you from this drama but I'll def follow your other works coz your acting has touched me to the core, see you in The Love by Hypnotic & many of your future drama going forward ❤️

Starting this for Alen Fang coz his acting & character on The Longest Promise amazed me sm (my first drama of his, what a discovery!).
Gotta say the first 8 ep of TLBH was a cringe fest for me but I'm pushing forward for the love I have for Alen & so glad I did! From ep 9 it gets better by much & I can't stop binging this.
As for second lead, so far I pity the 2ndFL, she's a decent girl tbh, but the 2ndML rudeness just annoys me, he's handsome but that's about it.

Nw, misunderstanding part imo have been kept really minimal in this drama, we're in the last arc ep 30++ so it's natural if they were thrown to built more conflict/climax, but even so it's no where near annoying for me

I don't really like the first two ep either, but they're getting better from ep 3 & by ep 5 I'm sold, give them more chance & see yourself if you like it or not & decide by then.
Usually I give 4 ep chances for every drama I watch unless they're really horrible for me to continue.

Just seen ep 34 trailer & gotta say it's so satisfying to see, well done Qing Gang!!
The writing of the characters in this show is really astonishing to see with how noble worthy they are 👏
Am still in awe seeing what A Yuan did for Zhu Yan & Shi Ying on today's ep & what they did for A Yuan too vice versa.
My Man A Yuan & Qing Gang, and ofc our main couple Shi Ying & Zhu Yan, I love them all 🫠❤️

My love for A Yuan has gotten deeper and deeper, I'm practically drowning at this point, gosh I'd never expected I'd be a goner over a merman, but he's just so charismatic yet calm & understanding, has the warmest eyes & someone who will make you feel saved & protected while looking alot like Hyun Bin, it's really hard to resist🫠🫠🫠 HELPPPPP!!!
