Bruh, I never refer FL, it's FML (First Male Lead) character. And my point is, we rarely get ML who's calm. All the ones you mentioned are SML. None of the ones you mentioned (except OBS & SWDBS that I haven't watched) has calm first MLs character esp Eve, I totally hated FML character & his deadpan acting, i hate FML on Nice Guy as well & while I totally love LZW on SOOD (10/10 drama & Greg Hsu is my crush) he doesn't fit calm ML type 😂 So we might hv a very different take on the meaning of calm ML type is 😅

You see, LJW is my fav actor, I've even loved him as a 2nd ML on EY and every single drama of him & his character's portrayal ever since & I never seen HMH before this one.

Imo his character is purposefully being written like that, a reserved type who's unfamiliar with showing emotion & bottled up everything inside. If he was the ML maybe the drama will show more of his backstory, how he grew up to be like that. But since he's not, we can only leave that to imagination. We didn't even know his parent of he ever has one living parent.
Seeing Yul in this drama is the first time I seen HMH so am not biased or anything, but imo he did well with his acting. His eyes speaks volume even when his character doesn't say much & ought to be like that.

And no it's actually not that common we get a calm ML in drama, you could click calm ML tag & you won't find that much option. I've watched more than 300 drama titles but very few calm MLs in it & rarely find one. What's more common is cold jerk type ML, not calm.
Am really loving every scene of Yul with Mudeok/Naksu, I'm weak with yearning love kind of story & I find it's very rare to find a calm ML in drama land hence he has my heart & really appreciate this drama has Yul as one of the character.

I find 0 similiarity w/ her character & I really adore her character and acting here.
