Binge watched the whole thing in 3.5 days.
Hands down the most devoted ML I've seen, ML character is a gem, calm yet sturdy like a strong pillar whom you can always depend. His love is so selfless, probably the most pure, sincere love I've seen. With that alone, the drama itself is worth the watch. He is too precious.
The main couple had a great chemistry & great acting, you can see their love, happiness, pain & hardship through their eyes thus you can feel what they feel immensely.
Both, the ML & the FL character here are strong & hv their own moment to shine.
My fav ep however, will be ep 15 & 52, a happy Si Feng is a happy me 😭.

In terms of plot, the main plot itself deliver a good message, however the subplot & supporting character's action I find sometimes lacking & rather nonsensical.

Although they did well in writing supporting character's background, but along the way somehow they're sacrificed to show the MC struggle/moving the plot forward hence I feel detached to the supporting characters as more ep goes. Ngl, I've even wanted to burn the whole village down at somepoint halfway through the series because of how irritating the supporting characters have become, lol.

Main couple worth 10/10, main plot 9/10, the other (subplot & supporting) 7/10, acting 10/10
Overall 9/10
My fav supporting character is Teng She, the show hv become a lot more enjoyable thanks to him, that dude is on crack, a living meme, lol

Now, the real question is, how can I move on from Si Feng? He set the bar too high & Cheng Yi's acting is really killing it TT
I need more drama with calm male lead like Si Feng here & Dr Zhou from Intense Love, anyone knows any?

Nunu is one good soul with overwhelming talent & charm.
I still remember the day where he roasted the irresponsible husband guest on Hello Counselor with his glaring eyes, lol.
Love to see him more in variety shows, I can see how mature he is as a person even since backthen when he's considered still very young.

Ikr 😂 & idk if you hv watch ep 8 or not but the way SH keep saying that she can't help to confess her love everytime whenever GO cries (for all 5 times) just doesn't sit well to me.
Why do I feel like she's taking advantage of GO's vulnarable state? Like a guy who seen the girl she like drunk & then make some move 😅

I second your thought about Beyond Evil as well, a well done bromance with a nice, meaningful ending, hope to see more drama like that.

Imagine having a childhood friend who keep confessing her feelings to you & won't move on no matter how many times you hv rejected her, how much a burden it is for you if you're not into her & can't reciprocate her feelings or only seen her as close friend/ family? Must be HUGE.
And she keep looking at you with her "hopeful eyes" everytime 😂 bruh

That's why am never on board on their ship, their relationship will be more meaningful if they're just platonic friends who support eachother, not a girl who keep her eyes targetted on her "man" & do everything for him because she has "that motive".
She decides everything for him & babysits him all the time, don't do this, don't do that, let me do this & that for you, she sounds like his mother than his lover.

Ofc since this is a kdrama, 99% chance they'll be having mutual feelings & you can also say her feelings are sincere etc, but my post is just to give the gist to those who can't understand why some people can't buy their relationship or find their relationship uncomfortable to see.
Aside ofc the obvious non existent chemistry between GO & SH and misplace romance in a suspenseful mindgame/ power play drama.

Not everything has to be romanticized & this one is the perfect example, for me.
To show solid relationship between friends/ family are much more meaningful & sincere than show some forced romance.

Her not moving on even after GO has rejected her for 5 times sounds obsessive, her persistent feelings would be a huge burden to someone who can't reciprocate it.
She shd know how to accept no as an answer & move on.

Nah, Yohan had even asked GO when will he leave upon seeing him recovered, which GO refuse by pretending to be still feeling unwell & it hasn't ever been in the talk again eversince, it make no sense tbh, they probably left that out in the editing room, but idk how it goes unnotice & why they don't even try to make any excuse, like it's basically our biggest question here since day 1 😂

He need to grew some backbone & had his very own verdict & keep it. Not just because someone has "told" him so.

Yes I agree with you, his character can be frustating at times (& tho I do hope he can tone down his prejudice/ alrighty mighty act towards YH for a lil') but he's def needed to give us the balance & show us the distinction between morally grey characters & morally right. And it'd be interesting to see how GO would react, whether his take would be different after having his "reality check".

Count me in as well, that's why I find GO's character is even more frustating to have 100% trust on him & does everything according to his order, involuntarily become his tool.

More than GO moral compass (which I find right by all means), why he came off as a frustating character is because everything he said or do is came from another person biased foretelling, not from his own deduction. And how he react impulsively everytime without giving his brain the time to process is.. just.. nervewrecking.
That doesn't mean I don't appreciate the drama for showing us the ambiguity/ morality of grey characters tho, but to see how the supposed to be mature judge protagonist who came from the dystopian world he's living himself only see the world as black & white came off rather stupid to me 😂

Yeah, there's no way I'd root for them as a couple, just cringe from head to toe even by the possibility, I dislike the way SA handled GO, she basically babysits him all the time hence why he became this naive, tbh the way she handled him is more like a mother to her son than a lover to me 😂
& yes, I hope she pick less irritating character in her next project.

He's buttering the others so don't take his words literally, he want to manipulate the other & use their hands to throw SA under the bus just so he won't hv to deal with SA himself.

Ahh, I see, yeah I think what bother me the most with her character is how she dealt her investigation with heavily biased in favour towards GO in mind, She start it for him & do everything according to GO's pov which even came from another person foretelling, not even from GO himself. They knew nothing but they don't bother with the truth, they only look for whatever things that suit their prejudice against Yo han, act rashly without looking the bigger picture like you said hence why I find it's more irritating because it shows us how foolish the protagonist.

Agreed, I also hope he'd stop giving YH his "disgust" face, like c'mon idt GO'd even survive if he's on YH shoes with no one to depend, let alone keeping his naivety intact, lol.

All that rosy tint & slo-mo shoot at GO-SH had me cringe, lmao they had 0 chemistry, all that setup make no difference.
Imo, their story would hv more impact if the character's relation were written as a mere best friends or family who support eachother & no more than that.

Besides that, Ep 7 is a great ep, they had my eyes glued onscreen the wholetime.

I'm glad to see YH bring GO some reality check he needs to hear.
When YH told GO ain't you're a bit naive? I want to shout YESSS!! IN FACT HE'S VERY MUCH SO 🤣

GO when he's with SH = Lame & Naive
GO when he's with YH = FIRE (however, I'd want to see GO to be a bit less judgmental to YH & see where he's came from)

And look how great the ep will be with all the power play if SH wasn't snooping around, dipping her nose in the wrong place just to create unnecessary conflict?
Idw to sound like I hate her character nor the actress, I've only seen her in this drama so dgm wrong, but to me most of her scenes doesn't blend well with the rest theme of this drama. Like the scene I mentioned above, random cringe romcom thrown in an intense powerplay drama.
